my full previews will be out later tonight but if you want a quick taster then I think Guingamp and Dijon will be on my list

I would agree with Guingamp under but this is a cruch derby match and previous in the season Brest won it 2-1 thanks to a 94th minute goal. That match has painful memories for me..........................

Thought it may be of interest, Bet365 currently offering goal lines of 1.5/2 on all this weeks games. Haven't yet scanned the fixtures, but surely there is one stand out for two goals at least.

First post btw!

Dijon 2.10 @ Interwetten

Interwetten don't often offer really outstanding odds, but if you have an account with them, this bet is a must in my eyes, and the price everywhere else is pretty decent to. Dijon at home after a really poor start are unbeaten in 6, and are now really looking to push on for their last real chance to catch one of the promotion places. Anything less than a win here will not be good enough for Dijon. The away side are 4 more points behind, and in all honestly that probably means for them their season is over, a 10 point gap to the promotion places is surely just to far to catch up. Great value here, worth 5/10 stakes

Clermont v Valenciennes
Well both these teams need the points for different reasons. Clermont are involved in the relegation scrap and are fighting for their lives whilst Valenciennes need the points for their promotion push.. Its not an easy match to call and bookies are so close with prices. All three outcomes are effectively priced @ 3.0 but I think a result will happen. A draw is not a result I fancy here at all and I think one of the teams will win it. Clermont have a pretty good record against big teams this season and maybe they just might sneak a success against Valenciennes as well. They do have a few players out injured for this match but with home advantage I’m hopeful they could claim a victory. Certainly not a match to stake heavily on but a couple of units @ 3.0 is worth a punt IMO.

Clermont 3.0 Betfair 2/10

Dijon v Gueugnon
Most people will be unaware but this is actually a massive derby game. There is a pretty bug rivalry between the clubs and there has been plenty of talk in the build up to it. There are 2 very simple bets IMO for this game - Dijon win and 0-0 cover. The home team desperately need to claim the 3 points in order to maintain their promotion push and any slip up could effectively end all remaining chances. With just 1 loss in 12 games they are a form team and have won 5 of their last 6 home games. No team has yet to score against them at Le Stade Gaston Gerard in 2006 and I doubt Gueugnon will end that run. The visitors have scored just 4 away goals all season and their aim will be to claim a 0-0 draw. That is the only danger scoreline IMO and will be covered but Dijon’s odds are very generous here and are definitely worth a good medium stake bet.

Grenoble v Caen
If Caen are to get promoted this season then they simply must win this game IMO. Anything less than a win will end their chances but I think but they are more than capable of claiming success. On their day, Caen can beat anyone and are at full strength for this match. They come into the game unbeaten in 7 games and looking very solid. In their last away game they beat Lorient 3-1 and I believe they can do the same against what is a very inconsistent Grenoble team. They come into this game unbeaten in 3 but now they are due a defeat again. Caen are priced @ 3.60 and are worth a small punt on the straight win. I will also have a dabble on the over 2.5 goals market here as I have a feeling we could be in for a goals affair. Both these tams play with aggression and hopefully will be high scoring.

Bet
Caen 3.60 Ladbrokes 3/10
Over 2.5 goals 2.82 Betdaq 2/10

Istres v Montpellier
Well this is a crucial south coast derby for Istres. Hanging on the edge of the relegation zone they need their good home form to continue to keep them from danger. All season they have lost just twice here at le Stade Parsemain and have won 4 of their last 5 in front of their own fans. All 3 of their last victories on the south coast have been by a 2-1 scoreline and they would certainly accept that again. Montpellier have little to play for now with promotion seemingly beyond them whilst they are still well clear of the relegation zone. With players out injured their defence will be weak and I think Isrtes can capitalise. I will delve into the AH market for this match as a cover bet is difficult. Istres -0.25 @ 2.0 is worth medium stakes I think. Again I also believe over 2.5 goals is worth a shout. Istres home games are containing a few goals recently and this fixture does have a history of plenty of excitement. With a price @ 3.0 it must be worth a punt.

Bet
Istres -0.25 AH 2.11 Betdaq 5/10
Over 2.5 goals 3.0 Betdaq 2/10

Reims v Amiens
Well I think this is a match Reims should win but they do have a number of players out through injury. Amiens will be revitalised after their manager change and performed well against 3rd place Valenciennes on Monday night. They lost this match but the signs were that they may yet recover. But with just 1 win in 15 games their form has been atrocious and away from home they have won just once all season. I fancy a Reims victory but I have a gut feeling that it may end a draw. The obvious cover is 0-0 but I also believe this one has a chance of ending 1-1. The key thing is not to be greedy so I’ll go for them on the -0.25 AH. This is a more safer bet IMO as I really can’t see Reims losing.

Bet
Reims -0.25 AH 1.83 Betdaq 5/10

Sete v Chateauroux
Well this is a massive bottom of the table clash between two forms in terrible form. The battle of shit you could call it and that is exactly what Sete are. They come into this match having lost 11 of their last 12 games and are performing awfully. They have nothing left to play for really and are just waiting for confirmation of their relegation..
However Chateauroux are not faring much better and have won just 1 of their last 16 games. They finally sacked their coach last week and will have a new man at the helm for this encounter. I have a feeling that this will improve them dramatically and on a level ball handicap are definitely worth a punt. Its make of break for the visitors here and if they cant win this match then they cant win anywhere. Their quality should far surpass Sete anyway and this could be a potential romp IMO. Bookies can’t separate the teams but I’m very hopeful about Chateauroux. Again I think the over 2.5 goals is worth a small punt at such massive odds. Both defences are pretty shit and I can see at least 3 goals being scored.

Bet
Chateauroux (0) AH 2.0 Betdaq 6/10
Over 2.5 goals 2.89 Betdaq 2/10

Lorient v Bastia
Well my favourite division 2 team is Lorient and I’d love to see them beat Bastia in what is a crunch top of the table clash. They cant afford to slip up here and must maintain the pressure on the teams above them. They have plenty of advantage going into the match though so have every chance. At home they are always pretty strong and I expect a bigger crowd to cheer them on tonight.
Les Merlus also have no major injuries or suspensions for this encounter. There opponents Bastia are top of the table but not playing particularly well IMO. They also miss a number of players through injury and are not renowned for travelling well in general. I think a draw is always a possibility but Lorient on the level ball AH offers no risk on that outcome. The home team definitely worth a punt here IMO and hopefully they can claim the vital win which is necessary.

Guingamp v Brest - Meatman big game preview

Match info and history
Well there are a lot of very important games this match day and this along with Lorient - Bastia is about the biggest IMO. It’s a crucial Brittany derby and a massive clash for both teams. The relegation places are looming especially for Brest and its make or break. Historically this fixture contains goals. Last season Brest managed to claim a 2-1 win here at this stadium whilst the other game ended in a 2-2 draw. Earlier this season Brest claimed a 2-1 wins thanks to the famous 94th minute winner. They also beat Guingamp 1-0 in a January cup match. So Brest have the best H2H record but Guingamp will be desperate for revenge . Le Stade Roudourou eagerly awaits what should be a passionate Brittany derby and there will be a lot of fans here to see the game. Les Costamoricains vs. Les Rouge et Blanc, it should be a classic.

Guingamp
After a nightmare start to the season they have picked up dramatically and are unbeaten in their last 8 ligue games. Defence has been the focus point of their success and have kept 6/8 clean sheets concededing just 2 goals in this period. However 2 key elements of it are missing for this encounter. Jann Jouffre has been missing for a couple of weeks now but Arndaud Le Lan was injured badly in Guingamp’s last match and is loss will be a blow for the home team. However apart from that the squad is in good condition and recently a number of longer term injuries have returned. No team has managed to score against them at home yet in 2006 and are unbeaten in 6 matches in front of their own fans. They are definitely favourites to win this game and the only danger scorline is the 0-0 draw IMO.

Brest
Well the visitors are in terrible shape at the moment and have won just 2 of their last 14 games. After a really bad run of results coach Albert Rust was sacked last week and his assistant Miguel D’Agostino took over for the match against Laval which they drew 2-2. Away from home they have been very poor all season wining just twice although losing just 6/14 times. There’s no doubt that they will come here looking for a draw and try and be defensive. But both Cedric Elzeard and Betrand Tokene are suspended for this match and these two players are key defenders for Les Rouge et Blanc. They may therefore have to try and base their game plan on attack especially if they fall behind early.
They still lack a creative sparkand their best player Nicolas Sahnoun is out injured for the rest of the season. The start of his injury (in late December) also coincided with Brest’s bad form so it just showed how important he was to them. Earlier in the season he was the architect in their 2-1 win against Guingamp but he wont be around this time to cause problems. All in all the pressure is seriously on the visitors and they could easily slump to defeat.

Betting
Quite simply Guingamp have to be backed here at a price of 2.12. They are by far the better team at the moment and I expect them to take the 3 points. But it is a derby match so Brest will be highly motivated. But cheered on by a partisan crowd I think Les Costarmoricains have the edge. The cover scoreline is 0-0 and I also have a surprise bet. I think over 2.5 goals is worth a punt here @ 3.05 because this fixture always sees to contain plenty of action. For novelty I’ll have 1 unit stake on it.

Revenge
Guingamp want revenge on Brest here and so do I as well. Monday 17th October was my worst night of the season when Brest beat Guingamp. Their 94th min goal which should have been prevented has haunted me since. Now exactly 5 months on all those bad memories can be erased if Guingamp win. This is more than just any old match and an emotional occasion for me. I want to see Brest beaten here and I believe they will be. I’d LOVE it if Guingamp won this one so hopefully they can deliver the goods

Bet
Guingamp 2.12 Betfair 10/10
CS 0-0 6.50 Stanjames 1/10 (cover)
Over 2.5 goals 3.05 Betdaq 1/10 (novelty)
