Nancy -0.5 AH @ 2.0 Bet365 4/10

Nancy have definitely been one of the form teams this season especially at home where they are a strong team. Now they will look to continue their winning ways facing Lille in what will, probably be a tight match. The visitors are pretty hard to beat and break down, but I’m not really convinced by Les Dogues this season. Nancy really are a side with a lot of momentum in their sails and they will make life difficult for their opponents,. The squad is in good condition, whilst Lille miss a few important guys. This wont be easy but I think the hosts will get the 3 points. Bookies have them overpriced @ 2.06, when in all reality they should be something like 1.80-90. Pabloe Correa is a great tactical coach and the Lorraine will hopefully do the business for me at Le Stade Marcel Picot.

Caen +0.25 AH @ 11.85 188bet 3/10

Bookies have this match wrong IMO and Caen should be slight favourites. Instead they opt to go for the visitors Bordeaux who will find life difficult tonight. At the moment, only one team can realistically be a favourite away from home against anyone in this ligue, and that is of course Lyon. Caen have produced some very strong performances at Le Stade Michel D’ornano this year and play some wonderful flowing attacking football. They wont play a closed game and they will go looking for goals. Bordeaux are a strong force but can blow hot and cold too often. I really am not convinced that their defence will be able to hold off the Normans, although the visitors should be able to score. Overall, I believe we shall see a decent game of football and with both teams at virtual full strength, there are no real excuses in the injury department. Caen can’t be relied upon in defence, but they will score enough goals which will ensure they don’t lose IMO. The +0.25 AH is the wrong line and I’ll bet it 3/10.

Toulouse (0) AH @ 1.79 10bet 3/10

This match is another bookies have wrong IMO and 1.79 on Toulouse level ball is simply too big to ignore. I don’t think they will lose this game especially as Monaco miss a couple of players to injury and suspension, guys such as Gakpe and Menez who have been playing well recently. The south coast side are one of the hardest to predict this season, but I think they could be in for a bad week. TFC miss Gignac to suspension, but with someone like Johann Ellmander upfront, they have a striker who is definitely a threat. Interestingly 4 of the last 5 meetings between the sides have ended in draws here in Toulouse, but I feel the hosts have what it takes to get the 3 points tonight. It wont be easy, but the (0) AH @ 1.79 is real value IMO, and the price should be

That's all for the moment, although I am considering a couple of other bets. Definitly no bet for the 16:10 KO time (Rennes v Lyon) just too hard a match to predict.

For CS's (usual 0.5/10 stake)

Caen 2-1 @ 13.0 W Hills
Nancy 1-0 @ 7.0 Bet1128

I don't have a CS for the Toulouse match

GL all

I'm actually of the opposite opinion, Lyon have to play Barca on Tuesday in the CL match and with the Euro 2008 qualifier played on Wednesday in the Ukraine by France and also other internationals abroad for play I'm thinking Rennes at home look pretty good.

Q. how many Lyon players were on internation duty?
Q2. will Sylvain Wiltord be in the lineup for Rennes?

Lay Rennes to not lose

For France, Benzema and Govou played 90 mins, Ben Arfa came on late as a sub and Squilacci was an unused sub.

Grosso played for Italy

I know Kallstrom (Sweden) played and scored.

Juninho Brazil maybe?

My prediction is yes he will, definitely recovered from injury. Cant be sue though as Pierre Derossi might want to him on the bench in case somebody needs to make an impact. Wiltord will be really motivated today as he will want to perove a point to his old club (with whom he had a big falling out during the summer)

GL max, I hope you win with your Rennes bet, I shall be cheering you on! This is definitely a game I'd like to see Rennes win.

Meatman, my fellow Belgian punters will put a lot of money on Marseille, with the only reason on Marseille coach E.Gerets and they have to win this one .Should I follow them or keep my hands of this game?

I don't quiet understand the big odds for over 2.5 in Rennes against Lyon. I don't need to explain here about Lyon's attack that can score 1 or 2 goals against any team on any day, but i think Lyon's defense is definitely their weakest link. The teams just aren't taking advantage out of it, besides Marseille which did in the last game. Cris is still missing, Vercoutre isn't Coupet and Fabio Santos and Anderson are suspended today. On the other hand Toulalan is back and he should be helpful also for the offense as for the defense. Wiltord will most likely do his best to score against a team which he left in not such a good way, and fast strikers like Briand and Thomert and even Pagis, who should retire already, can do something against Lyon, especially when Rennes is now with 3 loses in 4 last games. About the history between the two besides last year which ended the games in under 2.5 (well both teams weren't the same as they are now) only once(!) from the time of '99 to 2006 the teams finished with less than 3 goals.

I totally agree with french guru meatman about Nancy, but I'll risk a little bit more and take the -1AH @3.00 with bet365.
I'm pretty sure that Nancy has the power and the momentum as meatman mentioned, to win this game. Hopefully by 2.

Yeh Lyon do the business again

Yet again they beat a direct rival at the top of the table, I thought Rennes could cause them some problems today. Wish I'd just stuck with betting on Les Gones now, they were a fairly decent price

Sadly, Ligue 1 is just too easy for the champions and they should romp to yet another straightforward title, which will be boring as ever for those following the ligue.....
