For the first shot- Lens look good. This is game for six points, Lens must win IMO. Le Mans isn't in good form and last time they play that three- four days.
Any sugestion ? thx

An Auxerre win at Grenoble isn't a bad idea i think, odds like 2,30 or so are not bad, they have the second best defense after Bordeaux, and especially away they only got 4 in their net in 10 games and against the worst attack in the league will be not an hard work probably to keep them far from their goalkeeper. On the other side Auxerre isn't a goal machine but i think they will have enough to win here.Better to check team news before anyway.

Right, terrible night in L2. On to L1, where hopefully there will be better times...

Sochaux vs Nancy: Sochaux -0.25 AH at 1.84
Sochaux are on a decent run of form at the Bonal and will be full of confidence after beating Le Mans in the cup in midweek. They seem to have added a decent striker in Ideye Brown during the transfer window and he'll be buoyed by his two goals in midweek. They also have two important players returning to the side in Yassin Mikari (DF) and Jacques Faty (DF). Les doubistes are on a fine five-game winning streak at home and will look to continue this. As for Nancy, they've won five times on the road and can't be taken lightly. They seem to be better away from the Marcel-Picot, which is unusual for them. Still, I think they are pretty ordinary away outfit that Sochaux will look at to take three points from. Defender Andre Luiz is suspended, so they'll need to reshuffle at the back. The partial draw cover at 1.84 offers good value, so I'm happy enough to back the on-form hosts at a decent price.
Bet strength: 4pts

Nice vs Lille: Lille at 1.90
Nice are in a real pickle right now. They lost the Cote d'Azur derby last week to Monaco and it seems like they have real problems in defence. That's not what you want when coming up against Lille. They have one of the best attacking lines in the league and are very tough to stop in full flow. Eden Hazard (AM) is a slight doubt, but they have adequate cover in Ludovic Obraniak. Nice are on a ten-match winless streak and although that will end soon, I'm not sure it'll be here. Oneyuchi Apam returns to the defence but Renato Civelli is suspended at the back, while a number of players are doubts, including key striker Loic Remy. Lille hit a dip in January but won well at home to Lens and will look to kick on again. With players like Gervinho and Tulio De Melo in their ranks - and don't forget Pierre-Alain Frau - I reckon they could be too hot for Nice.
Bet strength: 4pts

Boulogne vs Montpellier: Montpellier -0.25 AH at 1.86
This price is tumbling so if you want them, take them now. I hummed and hawed over this one and eventually decided to take MHSC on lower stakes. Boulogne got a great 0-0 at Bordeaux last week and are starting to improve, but I still think their defence is porous and they lack a cutting edge up front. That's something Montpellier have, with Souleymane Camara, Hugo Montano and Tino Costa. Confidence is high after beating Marseille last week. They still miss Nenad Dzodic in defence but Garry Bocaly comes in to make his debut. USBCO still have a number of injuries and they are second bottom for a reason. When you consider this is second bottom against second top, the price is ridiculous. Montpellier can't keep up this form forever but they should have too much for Boulogne and are the more confident side. I have to back them here.
Bet strength: 3pts

That's all from me. I was mighty close to taking Lens outright against Le Mans, but a few things stopped me. Le Mans rested their whole first team for the game in midweek in preparation for this, and although they've lost every trip away from the Sarthe, I reckon they are due to pick up something. I may review it and take Lens, but right now there are too many risks. Auxerre hold some appeal but Grenoble have no pressure and could be dangerous. Rennes-Bordeaux is a toughie, while Lorient, at PSG, were interesting on the plus, I couldn't back them with any certainty.

Bonne chance,
Atko

Can you Explain to me the price on Bordeaux? They were unlucky not to win against Boulogne and I dont think Rennais despite having execellent defence could contain Bordeaux's attack, if someone has any team news it could help alot!

Lens v Le Mans - home win

I've had a look at Le Mans away stats and i'm shocked by how clean they are ... 0 0 10 4-20 goals.. they are last in the league considering away form . I dont think its really helping if i say that they have won just 4 games this season... and lost 14 , the majority away . Like somebody has spoted this is a six pointer and even if Lens would want to hold on a draw i believe Le Mans will open the game cause they need points really bad . Thus a winer has to be , and considering that Lens still has a positive home balance and has done the joob in the previous relegation sixpointers with St Etienne and Nice... my trust goes with them in this game .

1.85 @ canbet

P.S.G. v Lorient - home win

P.S.G. are coming after three consecutive loses were they have meet three top teams in Lille , Monaco and Lyon , who have leave them without air in those confrontations . Now they will have some space again and will try to bounce back... which i think they can do when facing Lorient who have lost six game on the road from eleven played . Even from the last game with Lyon , the revival nature of Paris guys was visible when they have taken the lead and maintaining it until 77 minute . Lorient not fealing well - lost to Nancy last match.. not traveling well... and P.S.G. will try a rebost win , so i think the odds worth a bet here .

1.90 @coral

Nice v Lille - away win

An absolute sitter IMO . Nice is sinking loosing 7 out of their 9 games while Lille still folows the fame having won 10 from their last 12 games . The loss with Sochaux was predictibal in some extent cause they needed to stop and take a breath of fresh air , of reality in order to rearenge the things and see them clearly . Now that they've done it , IMO , they will focus back on the game and will search for the tittle , because tehy really have the opportunity to do it . Bordeaux will have a tough match at Rennes and may loose points , thus it is not indicated to have bad steps in this round if you were Lille . Its obviouse to presume if Nice has lost to Auxerre who are a non-attacking side on the road what will happen when they will meat an ultra offensive team like Lille .

1.90 @canbet

I didnt get to watch the bordeau game last time the draw with boulogne but from what i hear from the radio, they were too complacent in front of goal , passing when they need to shoot and they could even have lost this match at the end. May be things have seem to easy for them or they under estimate the other team but anytime things like that happen you are sure u ll expect a strong reaction from them the next game.Rennes win comfortable the last time against a mediocre team but this time things will be very difficult for them. i thinks bordeau ll come out all gun blazing for this match ane even tough they play cup game during this week the have enough potential to win this one, may be atko can provide some team news

Okay, Dravidan first. Bordeaux are at full-strength, while Rennes welcome back Hansson and Gyan. Both sides will be fairly strong. Rennes, however, raise their game when at home to the top teams. They drew with Marseille this season and last year beat Lyon. They are normally pretty strong at the Route de la Lorient. Bordeaux are the better side and tend to grind out results. It could go either way - I couldn't call it.

Zazu, PSG played really well last week and still lost. Having Hoarau and Erding back with help them immensely up front. Sessegnon is dangerous too. But they are very light in midfield and defensively, the make errors. I can't trust their keeper Edel either. Lorient are a stuffy side and have won two of their last four visits to the Parc. Historically, this game suggests an overs match, but I'm not so sure. It's one I couldn't call with any certainty. PSG are due a result soon but morale will be low. They need to cut out errors at the back but they do have the firepower to win these kind of matches. The PSG price doesn't hold enough value for me, I'd want some draw cover for a side that lie beneath their opponents.

HI all,

First Atko, don't take care of Ligue2. That was again an incredible night with, I was totally out for Ajaccio, Dijon and Chateauroux like you. Good for me for Metz, Guingamp, Brest and Sedan, not enough.

Take time today to post my analyse.

PSG / Lorient Over 2,5 at 2,3
Owing to the historic, all match are over between this two teams. Both teams say that they want to make a result. Defender Sakho is out, which is a good thing IMAO, If I've had to bet, I would play on PSG hich improve his play, like last week-end. They should win at Lyon with out a red car for... Sakho! very poor defender I think/

Boulogne / Montpellier 2 at 2
Good price for the second agaisnt the 19st! Boulogne misses 2 defenders Rabuel and Bellaid, bad for a team who play at 11 behind. Boulogne don't core for 4 matches in Ligue 1. Montpellier feel very confident and have good stats away.

Nice / Lille 2 at 1,8
Coming back of the Africans for Nice like Apam(c) but club is in a big crisis with now great pbs with fans who invade field last week-end in Monaco. Hazard is Ok for Lille. Not a great victory, don't take the H.

Sochaux / Nancy 1 at 2,1
Good price again for Sochaux. Large victory 3-0 against Le Mans in Coupe de France, but it was a B team for Le Mans. Nevertheless, Sochaux is great at home, and I note that the new striker Ideye Brown scored twice.

Bons matchs

Hello, i would like to say that lens did a correct game against Montpellier at home, lens is a very defensive side at home they are rate 15th attack and 9 th defence at home. That's why they only lost 0-1 to Montpellier. But as you can see Lens is not able to score.

Lens record playing at home is Lens a domicile : 5W 3D 3L.

Here are a detail of the 5 wins they got at home :

Lens 1-0 St-Etienne (14th) (3W 1D 7L) (15th Att/16th défense)
Lens 2-0 Nice (17th) (2W 2D 8L) (14th Att/20th défense)
Lens 1-0 Marseille (3rd) (5W 4D 3L) (1st Att/12th défense)
Lens 2-1 Nancy (5th) (5W 2D 4L) (5th Att/10th défense)

Lens hold against Marseille which is the best away attack of the ligue and against Nancy which is the 5th best away attack.
So we can say they are capable of holding at home, more over Lens is successful against bad aways team like Nice (8L) and St-Etienne (7L).Considering the recent away record of Le mans i would jump on Lens to win, but ...Le mans had a game this week against Sochaux (Coupe de France game) and they did lost but rested most of their team too (
Le Tallec, Thomas, Baal, Lamah ,Cerdan...) with the inability of Lens to score goals i would like to get the double 1X in a huge accum.
Cause the draw could happen in this game.

Im with you on this one also.Psg did play really well against Lyon last week end, they had the opportunity to kill the game...but they failed and hold the 1-0 until they had this red card...I believe they could do well, but recent team news and what their coach said is not really encouraging.

im not sure this game is a Banker for Lille. since nice is getting some africans players back from the CAN like Asamoah (Ghana, CAN Finalist).
Last 2 years game were very close also.
2008-2009 Ligue 1Nice 0-1 Lille
2007-2008 Ligue 1Nice 0-0 Lille

Good luck to everyone .

If you watch bordeaux recents game they didnt show much...except the cup game against Ajaccio which is a lower division team much worried about saving his league season than wasting forces against Bordeaux.
Last game free kick and corners which are a strong asset of Bordeaux (since 60% of their goals did come from those) were really bad.

If you add the recent "media noise" about Laurent Blanc taking the French Soccer team lead after the end of the season and after the incoming World cup, while players like Chamakh stayed at Bordeaux...you can understand the price. Moreover Rennes did show better recent form.

I believe that is what Bookies took into consideration for the Price.

I appreciate you input Rico

I still keep my oppinions though . Lille are my strongest selection of the night in France division - and here i can put on the table some good reasons . They are an offensive attacking side whilist Nice are fragile one < no composure >... Lille are still in the high air of dreamland being practically in the fight for the tittle and thsu they will be moptivated . One more clue is in the odds set by the bookamers which they too believe Lille has going to win.. see the diference in Bordeaux's odds . So im not afraid by the return of the players of Nice from internationaly duty cause quality resides a lot with Lille.

I say Lens are my second best pick cause Le Mans are dreadful on the road and even if they have rested players it will be hard to change all of a sudden .

3rd is P.S.G. cause i believe they are somehow underperforming and this game will e good opportunity to show themselves from what they are made of ..

I too agree on Bordeaux - they are a strange price an i'm pondering a lay of them .

Sochaux vs. Nancy

Sochaux is lining up the Wins at home and getting som decent draws away lately. Clearly form is going up and the confidence is good among the youngsters. Nancy generaly a poor team spec. away is grinding out some results lately. little up and down but I think that they will have to surrender to the hosts 2night. Sochaux managed to get a draw away to Valenciennes with two improtant missings that will be back for this game and hopefully tighten up there back.It could be a thight game but I really fancy Sochauz to keep their good home form against bad travelers Nancy.

My pick Sochaux -0.5

Nice-Lille

Amazing odd here, maybe Lille is favorit for this game cause of recent result but Nice need to come back with point tonight .Agree that Nice miss some key player but at home 1X @ 1.90 is simply value.Never easy to play at Nice remember Lyon where conceded 4 goal in Nice stadium.

Opposition between the best team of the moment 8 win in last 10 match and the worst one Nice with only a single win in last 10 match.Always suprise in this Ligue1 proove last week by draw of Boulogne at Bordeaux.Nice must make a result tonight pressure on coach and by supporter. Most probable result could be a draw here but price for 1X and specially for home team still value.Highest odd i have seen for Nice at home this year expect Lyon and win 4-1

Nice or draw @ 1.91 William Hill 7/10

Sochaux - Nancy

Match between friend team here. Both got save their season need 12 point to be sure to stay in Ligue1 and don't hope to fight for a europpen cup ticket here.Expect an open match here both team don't have presure of result .Last opposition finish on same result of 2-1 for home team.Decent price for over here.

Reasoning Nancy obtained in last 3 away matches 7 points, while Sochaux won last 4 home matches. We can say both teams crosses good periods.Tonight I expect a balanced match and I am sure a draw would be satisfied these teams. They are no worries for relegation,so the meeting is somewhat without high stake.Draw my pick.

Rennes - Bordeaux

Like all say difficult to predict a result on this match.Rennes stay a strong home team and Bordeaux is simply the best away team of Ligue1.little advantage on Bordeaux but recent result of Bordeaux 0-0 at home vs Boulogne and result of Rennes 4-0 at home vs Grenoble tend me to think on a draw pick.

Rennes - Bordeaux - home win

I'm gona let Smeagol to take best of me in this late match between Rennes and Bordeaux . It would of been really easy to just lay Bordeaux , but i'm reaching for a bigger piece of pie from this game . The odds are high for a reason and i remeber that i've backed favorites away in this league at odds just slightly above evens and the majority of the wins were just by one goal... and i consider that to be maximum extent of away odds that can be backed in this league . Of course there are those above 2.50 , but that is just another category .
Bordeaux are beggining to fade slighlty and that was visible in the last 3 games they've played . In the one with Marseille they almost lost control in the end of the game and i was not seeing the desire for win in that game , being just sutisfied with denfending themselves . With Grenoble they were a goal down and with Boulogne they couldnt win it !
Gourcouff said in an interview that they arent 100 procent fit in terms of vitality and tehnicality and that they may need some space to improve .
Having in mind that Rennes have a good home form and are an organized , compact team i think the edge will be on their side tonight and at this great price i'll be too . After all Bordeaux have lost 3 from their 11 games disputed away this season .
