PSG -0.75 AH @ 2.06 188bet 6/10 These are desperate times for PSG and the capital club sit 3 points behind the nearest safe position in the table. They have four games left to avoid relegation, bit its something that the team are capable of achieving. However, its absolutely imperative that they win both of their remaining home games, especially this one against a potential rival. If PSG can get the 3 points against Auxerre, then it wouldn’t only improve their own position, but they’d also drag another team into the relegation battle. PSG have only won 1 of their last 12 games but there is enough quality within the side needed to escape danger. The fans will get behind the team at the start of the match, and the players must take advantage of this. If things start badly then it would be completely different, but a noisy Parc De Princes Stadium cant be underestimated. Auxerre haven’t really played very well recently and are only 6 points clear of the relegation zone. That gap would be cut to just 3 if they lost here, so it’s a vital game for them. With only 1 win in their last 8 games and with a poor goal difference, the pressure is certainly on Jean Fernandez’s men as well. PSG simply MUST win here and anything other than victory would be unthinkable. I think I’ll have to side with Paul Le Guen’s men in this fixture. If they cant win this game then I really do think they could be heading down to ligue 2. Bordeaux -1 AH @ 1.94 Pinnacle 6/10 Bordeaux played poorly last weekend in Toulouse, but still mannered to win thanks to a last gasp goal from Johan Micoud. This goal maintained their title hopes, and with only 4 games left to go, the pressure is still on Lyon at the top of the table. Bordeaux know that they pretty much have to win all of their remaining 4 matches to still have a chance of winning Ligue 1, and this clash against Nice should certainly be fairly straightforward. The visitors are ending the season with a real whimper and know that there is no real pressure on them anymore. They are safe from relegation and have no desire to challenge for a European position. Last weekend they produced a flat performance at home to south coast rivals Monaco and slumped to a 0-2 defeat. Bordeaux should have simply too much motivation and fight for Nice to deal with here. The hosts know that they have to win, and in front of their own fans they’ll be supported all the way until the final whistle. I have no doubts that ‘Les Girondins’ will get the job done and maintain the pressure on Lyon. Lille straight win @ 1.95 Gamebookers 4/10 Lille are definitely a form team at the moment and are aiming to finish in 5th position. Thanks to an excellent away success at Marseille last week ‘Les Dogues’ are now only 1 point behind their rivals, and with 4 games left to play, they’ll feel as if they have every chance of achieving their objective. Confidence is definitely with Lille at the moment and they have won 4 of their last 6 games. A crucial game comes next week when the travel to St Etienne, but for now, they will be targeting victory against relegation threatened Toulouse. The visitors are currently outside of the relegation zone, but that could only be by virtue of goal difference should PSG win the earlier Saturday match. Last weekend they were gutted to lose at home to Bordeaux in the last minute after putting a lot of work and effort into the match. The visitors have won their last 2 away games, but this will be a much tougher test facing a good team who want to win themselves. I just think Lille aren’t a side that anyone wants to be playing against at the moment, and that this will be very awkward encounter for Toulouse to deal with. They will fight hard, but I’ve got to give preference to the hosts in this fixture.

St Etienne -0.5 AH @ 1.98 Pinnacle 4/10 Once again, Metz proved themselves to be a bit of a nuisance last week when they managed to hold Auxerre to a 0-0 draw away from home. Throughout the last 2 or 3 months, Yvon Pouliquen’s side have caused some problems to teams fighting against relegation, although they haven’t fared so well against higher ranked clubs. St Etienne come here still in 5th position, but they have other sides such as Lille really breathing heavily down their necks and need to make sure they keep winning matches. Next week, they of course do face a key clash at home to their rivals, but for now, ‘Les Verts’ will be eyeing a comfortable 3 points at Le Stade Saint Symphorian. Metz aren’t going to let their heads drop at the end of this season and the coach still demands that his players give plenty of effort, but in terms of quality, St Etienne are far stronger here. They have the ideal attack force to cause problems to this leaky Metz defence and should be able to create numerous chances. This game will probably be a very exciting encounter and contain a few goals in it, but ultimately the visitors should be able to outscore their opponents. Laurent Roussay’s men know that obtaining anything less than 3 points wouldn’t be acceptable, and know what must be done in order to maintain their 5th position in the table. Rennes -0.75 AH @ 2.0 188bet 6/10 Rennes, who are in the hunt for 5th position in the table must surely fancy their chances of beating woeful Strasbourg. The visitors travel to Brittany in the middle of a dreadful 7 match losing streak which has left them firmly rooted inside the relegation zone. At this crucial stage of the campaign, Jean Marc Furlan’s side have severely cracked and haven’t been able to handle the pressure of the situation. They have to win very quickly, but with 3 of their remaining 4 matches away from home, its difficult to see them surviving. The team just cant score goals anymore and they’ve gone through a really barren spell recently. This was something that was highlighted at the start of the season, the only surprise is that it took so long for this weakness to be apparent. Rennes have been in good form recently and are now chasing the final European position. Les Rouges et Noir have won 4 of their last 5 games in front of their own fans and it’d be a surprised if they failed to beat their opponents this weekend. They should put another nail into Strasbourg’s coffin and collect victory. Sochaux -0.5 AH @ 1.93 Pinnacle 4/10 Sochaux’s excellent unbeaten run of 9 games came to an end last week as they lost 2-3 away in Lens. It was a bit of an unfortunate defeat and Sochaux played some pretty decent football in the match, but luck wasn’t always on their side. Suffering this loss would’ve been a blow, but the club are in a much stronger position than it was a few months ago when relegation looked very likely. Francois Gillot’s men are now 7 points clear of the danger area and need just 1 more win to absolutely confirm their survival. With 3 of their 4 remaining games on home turf, they should be able to achieve this, and the players will surely want to do it at the earliest possible opportunity. This weekends match against Lorient looks set be a good chance, but they will have to be very careful of their often unpredictable opponents. ‘Les Merlus’ come here on the back of a tight defeat to St Etienne (0-1) in a match which could’ve easily ended all square. The motivational levels of Lorient are hard to understand at the moment, they have little left to play for, but are sometimes fighting quite hard to get results. In general though, the visitors possess a weak attack force and could struggle to score goals. I think Sochaux will probably obtain victory here and be able to confirm their top flight status for another season.

Agree with everyone on Bordeaux, in Lyon I am not tempted with the odds at all, but consider the Over - first because the odds for HW are too low, second with Caen being safe I don't expect them to hide. Whether guest will score or Lyon will get their own back for the defeat in the reverse game with a convincing victory wouldn't matter. Sochaux and Lille still look funny to me, will consider further, but St. Etienne's win looks better. Good luck Last edited by nicko; 26-04-2008 at 16:22.

A good start for Over hunters in France, I missed PSG, but I also expect more goals in Lyon and Le Mans, where Lens need to take something out of the game. Plenty of goals in the recent games between these two. Was also tempted with an Over in Bordeaux, but decided to stick to HW in the last moment As usual GOOD LUCK ALL ![]() ![]() 2 out of 2 Overs in France is nice, a Bordeaux win now looking better with guests a man down...Last edited by nicko; 26-04-2008 at 18:58.

Valenciennes -0.25 AH @ 2.18 Pinnacle 4/10 It would take a disastrous end to the season for Valenciennes to be relegated now, and they look to be pretty safe sitting on 44 points in the table. But the team will still want to make absolutely sure or their survival by beating Nancy this weekend, in a match which is crucial for their opponents. Nancy looked to have slipped up last week in their fight to obtain the final CL position when they drew at home to Le Mans. However, Marseille failed to take advantage of this slip up and lost at home to Lille. So now Nancy have their destiny in their own hands, and if they win their last 4 matches then they would definitely finish in that 3rd spot. But playing away from home has been very difficult for Pablo Correia’s side all season and they have won only a couple of games on their travels, the last of which was many months ago now. But its at this stage of the season when mental attributes come into play strongly and Nancy are certainly a very determined side. The visitors could raise their game and know that they really do need to win to keep ahead of Marseille. But you cant deny that Valenciennes are a very strong home side and I think they should be good enough to get at least a point. Marseille -0.25 SH @ 2.09 Betinternet 4/10 Monaco now look to be pretty safe on 43 points in the table so the players can probably afford to relax a little bit more now. All the pressure is on their opponents Marseille, who desperately need to win in order to continue their quest for the final champions league position. Last weekend, Eric Geret’s men suffered a disappointing loss at home to Lille in what was a difficult match. The style of Lille’s play is rather awkward for a team like Marseille to deal with, and things just didn’t go their way. This sort of game against a weak looking Monaco side should suit them much better though. Marseille will take many fans to Le Stade Louis II and they will be well supported. Victory will be the only thing in the players minds and they know what needs to be done. The simple fact is that the attacking strength of ‘OM’ should be too much for Monaco to deal with, and its difficult to see the visitors avoiding defeat.
