Lyon 13-6 ahead on shot count - just such a clinical team

worryingly I read that Troyes are pushing hard against Bordeaux and are the better team.....................

grafting day with maybe a few too many draws. I end up in slight profit of +1.5 points and I'll accept that. Not many goals so maybe there will be a couple of overs tommorow

merci beaucoup. You seem to be on the ball and definitely above 50% most of the time so I made a decent wager on:

Rennes
Nice
together with
Everton
Wigan

Nice once again merci beaucoup.
PS I was in the same mindset with the home win in the Monaco/Ajaccio game Cheers Mate

The results were well balanced yesterday, 2 home wins, 2 away wins and 3 draws. The same thing happened last week on the second day of last round. If this pattern is true, we'll have 1 home win, 1 away win and 1 draw tonight. Wins for St Etienne and Auxerre, Meatman?

not 100% sure yet but I think it may be worth betting over 2.5 for every match today. Just 1 over today and I reckon there will be at least another one today, probably in Les Verts match. At the moment I'm thinking to go all home wins for today but not completely decided yet. Got a few teams to do then will look in more detail. At the moment St Etienne and over looks good though

Lille v Marseille
Well both of these teams were in midweek UEFA action and both were knocked out of the competition. No doubt that a win would be ideal for both who must now concentrate on the ligue and national cup. But I think there can be only 1 winner here and that’s Lille. They are definitely one of the more form teams in the division and have won 9/14 at home this season. Amazingly they have kept 8 consecutive clean sheets at home and in front of their own fans have conceded just 4 goals all campaign. Its simple in that you don’t argue against them at Le Metropole and I doubt Marseille will threaten their defence much. The visitors have struggled enough for goals in recent weeks and will be pretty tired after their midweek UEFA trip to St Petersburg. The south coast team also miss key captain and goalkeeper Fabien Barthez who was injured in last weekends match against Les Verts. Lille’s price is a shade over even money and I’ll take it nicely. I would have preferred the -0.25 AH but there is an easy 0-0 cover for this match anyway. If Lille don’t win then 0-0 is the most likely result that prevents them from doing so. The cover price is so high that I’ll even have 2 units profit if it does end goalless.

St Etienne v Strasbourg
Well I stake more on this match than any other today as I believe it has great potential. Strasbourg’s UEFA cup run has now ended after Basle beat them over the 2 legs and now they must hope to survive in the ligue. Victory here against Les Verts would move them just 3 points behind Troyes with 7 games left to play. However I think that is extremely unlikely and that the home team could run riot here. 2 weeks they were incredibly impressive against Nantes as they ripped them apart. The eventual scoreline was only 1-0 but it should have been 4 or 5 really. Strasbourg come here tired after the midweek match and with LOADS of injuries. The overall list is now as big as 11 and most of these players would be in the first XI. They are continuing to fight but defensively they have nobody really. Les Verts also miss a couple of defenders here so it could be an exciting game. But the home team are way better than Strasbourg at the moment and could ease to victory IMO. The visitors will have to play exceptionally well to obtain a result. The danger is 1-1 and it may be worth covering but I expect a convincing Les verts win here. Their price is currently @ 2.08 which is absurdly high - lay into it!!

Les Verts 2.08 Betfair 8/10
Over 2.5 goals 2.76 Betdaq 2/10
CS 1-1 7.0 Betfair 1.25/10 (Cover)

PSG v Auxerre
Definitely the toughest match of the day to predict IMO and could literally swing either way. PSG have won 9/15 at home this season but are winless in 8 ligue games. The pressure is severely on Guy Lacombe to produce the goods and I would go as far as to say this is a must win match. I always have my doubts about PSG these days but I reckon they might claim a slender victory against an Auxerre team that has hated trips to Paris in recent years. They have yet to score a goal at Le Parc de Princes in the 21st century and have lost 4/5 recent times here. PSG always seem to beat Auxerre 1-0 in this fixture and they did exactly that earlier in the season in the French cup. I don’t expect a classic here at all and it certainly isn’t a match to stake heavily on but I’m gonna give PSG a slight punt. Their price is a terrible 2.20 but id kick myself if I missed out on them here.

PSG 2.20 Betfair 3/10

Well in recent wekes Sunday has bene a graveyard to me in ligue 1. I have the feeling that this one will be more successful though. The whole day centres around St Etienne really and they are definately the best bet of the day. It wouldnt surprise me to see a 0-0 at either Lille or PSG and these two games should be exceptionally tight affairs. Just give me one of them wininng and I'll accept it. I'm n trouble if there are any shock away wins today although wouldnt be too bad if it was Auxerre.

My CS predictions

St Etienne 3-0 Strasbourg
Lille 1-0 Marseille
PSG 1-0 Auxerre

Good luck all

ReasoningLille have won 10 of their 15 home games scoring 25 and conceding just 4. They have also won 3 & drawn 1 of last 4 games. Marsille have scored just 10 goals away and have lost 8 of their 14 games away.

It may be worth covering the no goalscorer as I expect this to be a very tight match.

ReasoningBig derby of France football. Lille vs Marseille. Lille is coming to this match from a defeat over Seviilla on thurdsay. On the other side, Marseille comes after defeat against Zenit. So, Lille and Marseille both saw their European dreams end in midweek but meet on Sunday with a view to boosting their respective ambitions for continental football next season. Now, both are struggling to reach CL position for next season. Lille is in a good run, 5 matches without a loss while Marseille has two in a row without a loss, it's intreseting that Marseille didn't score more than two goals this year. I expect this game to be very, very close one. My bet for this game will be under 2.5 goals. Medium stake!

Unexpected lead for Strasbourg and St Etienne doesn't look so much determined, a home loss is on its way. Looks like the pattern is true if PSG beat Auxerre later on. I'll stake heavily on PSG tonight.

well im just completely fcucked by that Strasbourg 2-0 win. Les Verts cant be relied upon any more but this is one hell of a shock. After a good start to the day this game has ruined all hard work. My PSG stakes have now been raised to 4/10 and also over 2.5 goals. We are definately due goals for this matchday no doubt.

fcuk Les verts I hate the bastards

yep, Meatman, I guessed that Etienne always disappoint when they are expected to win, and avoided betting on them, but Lille couldn't score a goal;
I was on Lille, PSG (over) double,
Now I'll put some stakes on Overs in PSG-Auxxerre
Hope see some goals
