Default Re: France - Ligue 1 (18-19 March)

Le Mans v Nantes
Well Le Mans look like they should win this match. Last weekend they claimed a vital 2-1 away victory against Strasbourg and the result means that they are still on track for a potentiallyl European position. But they now must maintain their push and beat Nantes at Le Stade Leon Bollee. At home Le Mans have been a very good team all season winning 9/15 in front of their own fans. Equally as impressive has been keeping 9 clean sheets here. Nantes are the visitors and struggling for form and victories. They have little to play for now this season as safety is effectively assured. They weren’t expected to be very good on the road this season and have lived up to that reputation losing 9/14 on their travels. They have kept just a couple of clean sheets away from Le Beaujoire and one of those was against hopeless Ajaccio. Le Mans should easily wins this match and their price is 2.10. Normally I would go for that and the 0-0 cover but I prefer the AH market. Its not widely available but on Betdaq you can get Le Mans -0.25 @ 1.75. I just think that the draw is a possibility here and not just the 0-0. Le Mans should win it but I just want a little bit more security.

Bet
Le Mans -0.25 AH 1.75 Betdaq 6/10

Toulouse v Le Mans
This is an interesting game that could well end in a draw. Lens are the team with plenty to play for as they still search for a European position. Toulouse have little to go on now that their safety is effectively secured and have been in dodgy form recently. Exactly the same thing happened last season when they were in a similar position. Suddenly they suffered some surprise home defeats and I think that’s what could happen again against Lens. The visitors are very hard to break down and don’t often lose. Having said that they have lost 3 of their last 4 on the road. But I just sense Toulouse are in bad nick at the moment and Lens might nick a slender success. The level ball AH is the best bet I think. Only low stakes but I’m confident Lens can at least draw this one. Centrebet offer 2.27 on DNB which is a better price.

Bet
Lens DNB 2.27 Centrebet 3/10

Ajaccio v Monaco
With not long left in the season Ajaccio are in massive trouble at the bottom of the table. This match against Monaco is make or break for them and I think they desperately need to claim victory. It was 3 points or nothing IMO and they would dearly love a repeat of last years 3-0 scoreline. But they come into the match on the back of 4 consecutive defeats and in bad form. Monaco have won just 1 of their last 5 games and have generally been in bad form. However last week they hammered Sochaux 4-1 so maybe their confidence will have returned. But on the road the principality club have been less than impressive and slumped to defeats against unlikely opponents. In their last away trip they went down 2-1 to Metz and maybe the same will happen here against Ajaccio. Again I’ll go into the AH market for this one and go level ball. With refund on any draw this looks like a good bet. Monaco could easily win. However I’m gonna give Ajaccio a go because it really is last chance saloon for them. They simply MUST win. My other bet for this game is over 2.5 goals as the fixture has a good history of goals.

Bet
Ajaccio (0) AH 2.16 Betdaq 3/10
Over 2.5 goals 2.66 Betfair 2/10

Metz v Rennes
This is a really hard match to call IMO and could go either way. Metz desperately need the points in the survival struggle but have a squad in poor condition and relatively poor form. Its not often they win although they have every chance here. Rennes come into the game in sensational form after 4 very easy consecutive victories. However just one of them was away from home although that was against Lyon 4-1.the name of their game is attack at the moment and I think that could well continue. I don’t know about the result but over 2.5 goals has every chance of happening. Both defences are pretty weak whilst the attacks are in reasonable nick. I think Rennes might sneak this one 2-1 but they could potentially hammer Metz. Either way I believe over is a good chance. Only small stakes but I’m hopeful.

Bet
Over 2.5 goals 2.73 Betfair 3/10

Default Re: France - Ligue 1 (18-19 March)

Nice v Nancy
Nice are not out of the European hunt yet but must win against Nancy to maintain their push. At home they are always a formidable force and have won 4/5 recent games at Le Stade Du Ray. They have now kept 4 consecutive clean sheets in front of their own fans and look very solid indeed. However they now face a Nancy team that is very good away from home. Unbeaten in 6 on their travels winning in 4 of these games. But I have the feeling that run must end at some point and here would be a good place for me. Nice are a bit short @ 2.20 IMO so again I’ll touch the AH market. -0.25 is available @ 1.84 and ill accept that. Cover is actually pretty hard for this match with 0-0 and 1-1 all possibilities

Bet
Nice -0.25 AH 1.84 Betdaq 5/10

Sochaux v Lyon
Well the champions should win this match IMO. They need to maintain their position at the top and an away trip to Sochaux should be fairly simplistic. However the home team are unbeaten in front of their own fans in 8 games so it might be tougher than expected. But Les Gones are way better than anything else in this ligue so should hopefully make it through. The cover bet is 1-1

Bet
Lyon 1.91 Betdaq 6/10
CS 1-1 (Cover) 7.30 Betdaq 1/10 (Cover)

Troyes v Bordeaux
Well I think Bordeaux should be able to claim a victory here alright. Troyes are under severe pressure at the bottom of the table and have gone 9 games without victor the Seine side have lost 3 of their last 4 at home and this is a perfect place for Les Girondins to claim victory. The visitors are unbeaten in 10 games and have kept 4 consecutive away clean sheets. They do have a few injury worries but so do Troyes. I don’t expect this to be a thriller but Bordeaux 1-0 is definitely on the cards again. The outright price is ok but again I go into the AH market because of indecision about whether to cover 0-0 or 1-1.

Bet
Bordeaux -0.25 AH 1.99 Betdaq 6/10

FT Le Mans 0-0 Nantes

Le Mans were the better team but Nantes keeper Landreau was in good form again. Not quite as sensational as he was against Les verts but enought to prevent me from wininng

have to accept half stake loss on this one
