Saint-Etienne +0.5 (2.05) Pinnacle

Odds very high for Les Verts !!!

Ok I know that this match is important for both team. PSG (18th) will hardly fight to avoid relegation but Saint-Etienne (5th) is in wonderful form lately ! Maybe they draw last match at home against Lille (0-0) but they had many chances to find the net and take the win over Lille, a well organized team.
With this last draw, they can't be assured to play UEFA next year. They absolutely need at least one point on saturday to make their european dream alive...
With a lose in Paris, Saint-Etienne will certainly lose this fifth place. And let me say you that they hardly want to come back in Europe, more than thirty years after their final against Bayern.

Big value bet in my eyes. I will take it with normal stake cause a pick is never win before the match...

Good luck to all tipsters !!

Personnaly, i don't think that it will be easy for Lyon. They concede points on their own ground against Rennes (1-1) and Caen (2-2). They take only one point at Nice too (0-0).
Nancy can finish at the third place and will certainly give lyon a very hard opposition.
For me, it will be Nancy +1 (2.12) Pinnacle
Once again, Lyon can win this one of course, but i see value bet here... Nancy lose only once (Lens 3-0) match more than one goal difference

Waiting, too, for the "boss", meatman...

At this stage of the season look for teams that needs the wins when i look i think a double of PSG and Marseille can happen Ok PSG beat us all the time, but i just cant imagine PSG in the lower divison. Marseille can win and you would imagine Lyon would take full points at home against Nancy which would set Marseille up for next weeks game aginst Strasbourg with 3rd place in there own hands.

I look forward to meatmans previews on these games. Im very confident he will agree with me.

Bordeaux -1 AH @ 1.85 Pinnacle 5/10

Amazingly, Bordeaux are still in the title race with 2 games left to play this season. Again last week they left it very late to beat Marseille away from home, scoring 2 goals in the last 10 minutes that gave them victory. Laurent Blanc’s men certainly have the force with them now, and they are seriously frightening Lyon. Bordeaux know that they have to win this game to make sure that the title race will go to the last day of the season. With Lyon facing a potentially difficult game against Nancy, then this might be Bordeaux’s big chance to close the gap on their rivals. The players know it’s a MUST win fixture facing a Sochaux side who aren’t quite safe from relegation yet. Officially the visitors need another 2 points to be absolutely certain of their survival, but its quite likely that even a defeat here and they would be celebrating come the final whistle. The expectation is on Bordeaux to get the 3 points and I think they will probably deliver. Sochaux have looked a tired team recently and the effects of a long hard campaign have been felt upon the players. This looks like a home win all the way as Bordeaux continue their charge towards the top.

Marseille straight win @ 2.20 Betfred 4/10

Both teams still have things to play for ahead of this match and it will be a key encounter towards the top of the table. Le Mans sit only a couple of points behind 5th placed St Etienne, so will still fancy their chances of overtaking Les Verts if they could win their two remaining games. But this will be an exceptionally difficult clash facing a Marseille side who desperately need 3 points themselves. The visitors now find themselves 2 points behind rivals Nancy who occupy the final champions league position. However, with Nancy facing Lyon this weekend, its an ideal opportunity for ‘OM’ to make up some ground on them. Only a victory in this match would potentially enable them to have their destiny in their own hands approaching the final match of the campaign. I think will shall see a very exciting clash and both teams should use fairly attacking tactics as they go looking for victory. I think Marseille’s extra quality will eventually prove to be crucial, and I’ll side with the visitors in this fixture.

Lille -0.25 AH @ 2.05 Pinnacle 6/10

This is probably the most important northern French derby that will ever be played between Lille and Lens. Both teams need the points for different reasons and we are sure to see a close tight match, strongly contested with a lot of commitment. Lille sit just a point behind 5th placed St Etienne and will be confident of overtaking them with only 2 games left this season. Claude Puel’s men have been one of the form teams of 2008 and have played some excellent football. That sadly cannot be said about their opponents Lens, who arrive here having won just 1 of their last 13 games. They still remain outside of the relegation zone, but only by virtue of goal difference. Jean Pierre Papin’s men desperately need 3 points from somewhere, but it’ll be very difficult for them to get what they want here. Lille are one of the serious form sides in ligue 1 and will be exceptionally difficult to beat. With the hosts still having plenty to play for themselves, then it will be even worse for Lens facing motivated opponents. Bookies have overacted here and overestimate Lens greatly. I think its time that we remembered what a poor side they are. There’s no doubt in my opinion that Lille are massively overpriced on this -0.25 AH line.

Lyon -1 AH @ 1.82 Pinnacle 4/10

Lyon are being pushed all the way by Bordeaux in their quest to win a 7th consecutive ligue 1 title, and the pressure is heavily on Les Gones ahead of this match. A run of just 1 win in 5 games in conjunction with Bordeaux doing well has cut the gap at the top to just 2 points. Lyon do have a vastly superior goal difference and need just 4 points from 2 games to make absolutely sure of retaining their crown. But that’ll be easier said than done because this weekend they face a seriously motivated Nancy side who are battling really hard to try and obtain 3rd place in the table. However, Nancy;’s biggest problem all year has been their away form, and the last time they won on their travels was a long time ago. Lyon are a quality team and they have the individuals who have the ability to ‘turn it on’ when they need to. The players know this is a crucial match and they should be good enough to get the 3 points in it. These are nervous times for Alain Perrin’s men, but most of the players within this squad are experienced enough to know what needs to be done. Great teams perform well under pressure, and one way or another, I expect Lyon to get the 3 points.

Metz (0) AH @ 2.08 Canbet 3/10

Both teams have little to play for now and this could be a low tempo end of season match between two out of form sides. Metz have lost their last 4 consecutive home games, although those fixtures have mostly been against sides that have ‘needed’ the points. Now they face a different opposition, Lorient who pretty much have little to play for. The visitors look almost certain to finish between 9th and 11th position and have ended the campaign in a really inconstant way. Metz are guaranteed to finish rock bottom of the table but have always shown plenty of fight in 2008. I’m sure coach Yvon Pouliquen will continue to demand that his players give their best efforts and play for pride. This could be an awkward game for Lorient and I’m not so sure that they will have the motivation to win here. Its been a long tough season and I think Metz have a good chance to pick up victory . There are definitely some generous odds on the home win, especially on the 0AH. It must be noted that this fixture will be played behind closed doors. But because Metz haven’t attracted much support this season, I don’t think this will make too much of a difference.

Monaco v Auxerre draw @ 2.65 VCbet 3/10

Both of these teams are not quite safe from relegation yet and have ended the season in a really stuttering way. Monaco have lost their last four consecutive home games, and only some decent away results have enabled them to move clear of the drop zone. They have played some poor football and been far from convincing recently. I think one feels that the players desperately want this season to end quickly. Auxerre claimed a massive victory at home to Valenciennes last week, but because of their poor goal difference, they still need another couple of points to absolutely confirm their ligue 1 survival. But its more than likely that both of these teams will be celebrating their survival come the final whistle, because I’d be surprised if the trio of PSG, Toulouse and Lens all won their games. I expect a tight cagey affair here and its capable of going either way. I think a draw is the result which would suit both sides best and it might well end up all square. This wont be a classic by any stretch of the imagination and should contain few goals in it.

PSG stright win @ 1.90 William Hill 5/10

This is a must win game for PSG if they are to avoid relegation. Currently, Paul Le Guen’s men are inside the red zone, but only by virtue of goal difference. Things are indeed very tight at the bottom. In midweek, the club received a boost when they made it through to the final of the French Cup, but the victory against Amiens was achieved by their reserve players. Most of the key members of the squad were rested for that clash and should be fully refreshed ahead of this crucial St Etienne affair. PSG on paper are a good team and should be well supported by a full house of supporters. It wont be easy though facing a Les Verts outfit that is unbeaten in 8 games. Laurent Roussy’s men are also heavily in pursuit of 5th position in the table and only a win would absolutely guarantee that they remain ahead of Lille. This is a really important match in which both teams need the points for different reasons. I feel PSG have just got their act together now though, and they know how important it is that they win. I’m backing the hosts to get the 3 points.

Rennes -0.25 AH @ 1.82 Pinnacle 6/10

Both teams need the points for different reasons and this match promises to be a very nervous and interesting encounter. Rennes are still in pursuit of 5th position in the table, and its definitely a spot that they would want to finish in. The team is really fighting hard and last weekend they scored in the last minute of injury time to earn a 2-2 draw aagainst Caen, showing determination right until the death. Toulouse are also showing this fight though and scored a hugely important late goal facing PSG in their last match. With a home game against Valenciennes to come on the final day of the season, the most important thing is that they set themselves up for that fixture. Only a win here can keep their destiny in their own hands, but any points that they could pick up here would likely be very useful. Rennes are definitely the better team and are the favourites to get the 3 points. Bookies are rather underestimating the hosts in my opinion, and there is excellent value to be had on the -0.25 AH line.

Valenciennes -0.25 AH @ 1.97 Canbet 4/10

Its been a long hard season for both of these teams and I think the sets of players will want the campaign to end as soon as possible. Both have little to play for anymore and are likely to end up in a midtable position. Valenciennes’ best results have always been at home this year and they have played some decent football at Le Stade Nugnesser. The players will want to end on a positive note in front of their own fans by claiming victory, but it might not be easy. All will depend on what sort of mood Nice are in. If the visitors play to their strength and look to frustrate their opponents, then it could be a dismal match with few chances in it. Frederic Antonetti’s men have been incredibly difficult to defeat on their travels and have been really annoying for a lot of sides to face. Nothing really matters much now though and I think Nice are due a bad performance soon. I’ll side with Valenciennes in this one, they should be good enough to get at least a point so a bet on the -0.25 AH looks alright.

A really exciting night coming up with something riding on 8 of the 10 matches

The only game I'll leave alone is Strasbourg - Caen, that match capable of going either way IMO.

Your logic about PSG looks good, but only because no one expects them to go down simply isn't strong enough to back them big time vs a good team today.
Big names were going down in the past, bigger names were relegation-threatened in far too many leagues. At these odds for HW I'd rather stay away, or back Les Verts somehow on AH. Only thing against such choice would be the H2H, SO NO BET LOOKS BETTER...
Good luck

Hello Meaty, I'm going to be devil's advocate and attempt to maximize gains by picking St. Etienne today.I'm betting there is enough hatred of le Capitale in city de Lyon that the greens will get it done and keep that excellence home record going.

OOPs, just realized PSG is the homeside, well then, is the Lay St. E. out there?

St. E not to lose

The PSG v St Etienne match really is quite fascinating

Everywhere you go there are split opinions about what will happen, there are a lot of people who will have their eyes on Le Parc De Princes tonight

I think home advantage will be really important in this match, so so vital.

Is there any value in PSG @ 1.90?

Without doubt no IMO. But I think they should win.

btw the absence of Dernis is quite important for SE, he has been one of their best players all season.
