That sequence should end with the visit of Metz who until last time out hadn;t won all season and they ended that run with a much needed win at home to Ajaccio. 5 defeats and 2 draws have come on the road for Metz. The h2h of late is 4-4-1 in favour of the home side who won this fixture 2-0 last season and that wouldn't be far wrong as a correct score.

Lens 8/10 @ 1.57 betfair
Shocked that Metz kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw.

Troyes on other hands are struggling near the foot as expected following their promotion. Lyon are unbeaten thus far and have won 6 on the spin. Since an encouraging start to their away campaign with a win and a draw its been all downhill since for Jean-Marc Furlan’s charges but a 2-1 home win last time out against Rennes suggests improvement. Lyon will be without left back Eric Abidal who was injured in Frances friendly
in Martinique. Even so, they should be too strong and could win with -2.

Lyon 10/10 @ 1.28 betfair
Home win as expected but my word it was close. 2-1 Lyon, hats off to Troyes for pushing Lyon so so close

Strasbourg are struggling like hell for goals and have scored just 5 all campaign. Rumours are that ex France international Marcel Desailly is being lined up to replace under fire Jacky Duguépéroux. Strasbourg havent won all season and have lost 4 on the spin. Nice are doing ok, they need to improve to move up the table, they're the only side to win at PSG and that result suggests they on their day are a decent side as they had to come from 1 down after a minute.

Nice 3/10 @ 3.8 betfair
0-0. As expected Strasbourg struggled to find the net, just a shame Nice did too.

Rennes v Toulouse

This is a match which I expect Rennes to win. The team from Brittany are a pretty good team and they always seem top be full of goals. All of their home matches this season have ended with over 2.5 goals in them but I have feeling that this may be quite a tight match. I’m tempted to bet under 2.5 goals here but I’m not gonna risk it.

Toulouse have lost 4/7 away from home this season and I just don’t fancy them to get anything here. However I expect them to be pretty tight at the back and Rennes may ending up winning just 1-0 or 2-0.

I haven’t got much else to say here but I will also cover the 1-1 CS

Bet
Rennes 1.88 Betfair 5/10
CS 1-1 (cover) 7.0 Betfair 1/10

Bordeaux v PSG

Well the chasing pack now have a mammoth task of catching Lyon after Les Gones 2-1 win over Troyes. PSG have been struggling in recent weeks a bit and they face a really tough task here against Bordeaux.

Les Girodins have lost just 1 game this season and they are now unbeaten in 11 league matches. This season they have cut out the draws and have claimed a number of tight victories. They have enjoyed the 1-0 scoreline a lot this season and I think 1-0 will happen again here. They have won 4/6 matches at home so far this season and they are one of the few teams to have held Lyon this season. I cannot see them slipping up here, I believe the only danger scoreline is 0-0.

PSG have really struggled on the road this season, just one win and that was way back in August against Sochaux. They have scored just 2 goals away from Le Parc de Princes all season.

And this stadium has not been a happy hunting ground for them over the years. They have yet to score a goal here in Bordeaux in the 21st century and have suffered defeat in 4 of their last 5 visits. The last two H2Hs here in Bordeaux have ended 3-0 to the home team and you never know that may happen again.

My bet for this match is Bordeaux win but I will cover 0-0 CS

Bet
Bordeaux 2.52 Betfair 5/10
CS 1-0 7.40 Betfair 1/10
CS 0-0 7.60 Betfair 1/10 (cover)

Rennes-Toulouse

1-x-2 61% - 28% - 11%
o/u2,5 41% - 59%

*** = key player, high importance
** = regular, medium importance
* = squad rotation player, low importance / no importance

Pick: Rennes –0,5
Odds: 1,85
Estimation: 61%
Bookie: Nordicbet (Asians have also ~1,80)
Stake: 5-6/10 (3/10 is normal)

Two sides going in different directions. Rennes have lost only twice in their last 9 games, while Toulouse have lost three games in last four matches. Rennes are also very strong at home. At last season they lost only two times at home, to champions Lyon (1-2) and to Lille (0-1). Also in season 03-04 they lost just twice. Toulouse, on the other hand, have managed to score only in two matches at away. Rennes get also very important playmaker Källström and regular midfielder Hadji back from injuries, while Toulouse miss lots of players. In my opinion the line should be –0,75. With this line, Rennes are a worth of bet.

Bordeaux-PSG

1-x-2 42% - 33% - 25%
o/u2,5 29% - 71%

Pick: Under 2,25
Odds: 1,715
Estimation: 66%
Bookie: Pointbet
Stake: 7/10 (3/10 is normal)

*** = key player, high importance
** = regular, medium importance
* = squad rotation player, low importance / no importance

This match will be very low-scoring, I think. Many players from both teams played in international friendly matches and therefore some players might feel tired. Both teams have also very strong defences. Bordeaux have conceded only 8 goals in 14 matches, while PSG have conceded 11 goals in 14 games. Bordeaux’s games 14 out of 15 have ended with under 2,5 and all their home games have ended with under. Either PSG haven’t been an ‘over-team’, 10/14 of their matches have ended with under. In my opinion this match will be very tight so there won’t be many goal-scoring chances. PSG have also had difficulties to score in away matches as they have netted only two times at away during this season. In addition 5/6 of PSG’s away matches have ended with under. I find the totals line wrong here, it should be O/U 2,0 not 2,25.

Team news:

Bordeaux:
CHEYROU Bruno AMRLC ** INJURED
LEROY Laurent A - INJURED
JURIETTI Franck DR ** SUSPENDED
PLANUS Marc DRC ** SUSPENDED
MENEGAZZO Fernando ML ** BACK from suspension
PEREA Edixon SC * BACK from injury

PSG:
RODRIGUEZ Christian AML * OUT
SEMAK Sergey AMRLC * OUT
YEPES Mario DC *** BACK from suspension
LANDRIN Christophe MR ** BACK from injury

correct score challenge update

unsurprisingly nobody managed a correct score today. Sunday's top man was Davidmphill, the only one to have predicted both outcomes, he went for 1-0 PSG, so close but well done for going for the Parisians.

top man overall for the weekend was Icky who predicted an impressive 7/10 outcomes correctly and threw in 3 correct scores as well.

overall between us we predicted 34/60 outcomes correctly (56.6%) and hit 13 correct scores which is a 21.6% hitrate. very impressive and if anyone had backed all of our CS predictions then they would be well in profit.

well done guys

we lost against Monaco although we should have made it 1-1 as we had a few chances, im dissapointed but at least I did warn that we may not do well against Monaco.

the big surprise was PSG at Bordeaux - they easy win against them and play some super football - back into 2nd place now.

I score just 9 point in the correct score thing - hhhhmm not too bad but I would have prefered bigger amount
