Reasoning	Tampere United v TPS Veikkausliiga 2006 No point in getting carried away with the TPS win away at Haka, and game where Haka caused all their own problems, clearly much below fitness and lot further away from match ready Haka could not create one thing, the first half killed them and they had no ideas and semi fit players, TPS took advantage and all credit too them, this time last season I was winning on them doing this v good sides but make no surprise in lively Ratinan they will not be so lucky as TamU are fully fit and playing. TamU squad has already been well spoken of and as has the home grounds and it's atmosphere, Tamu's opening game v FC Inter went well dominating most of the game by a strong margin and winning late through Sainio. Fully deserved. First home game at Ratinan stadion will be huge and i expect TamU to name the same side and win by more than 1 goal. TPS have a doubt over promising youngster Hämäläinen. 10/10 for me but 8/10 maybe more sensible GL

Reasoning	FF Jaro v IFK Mariehamn Finland, Veikkausliiga 2006 Jaro ended last season well actually playing some good football, i watched them play KuPS and was impressed, of course they are no world beaters but if Paatelainen or in form Stevic can nick a couple of goals a win v injury ridden Mariehamn is quite possible. Medium stakes only as despite the MIFK injury concerns this is the first match of the league season for Jaro and they are also without important defender Jens Portin and talented ex Tampere youngster Toni Junnila. Reasoning	MyPa v FC Haka Finland, Veikkausliiga 2006 It is hard not to go against Haka after that opening performance, Parviainen left the pitch at HT with a slight knock after a terrible first half, clearly it is gonig to take Haka a few games to get going. However is the second half they did start to play a little and this game will have acted as an eye opener as they go into a game with MyPA where the fixture has a history between the two sides where away wins are quite common. Haka are without Kauppila, Lindberg, Juuti and maybe Parviainen & Innanen. MyPa are hit badly with injury but can still field a good quality side. Forward Puhakainen is out along with Niki Helenius leaving much pressure for goals on Adriano. Key defenders Huttunen & Miranda and important midfielder Muinonen are also set to miss out. This game is hard to call, one part thinks Haka have a chance having one game under their belt the other believes MyPa is still strong enough to pounce here despite injuries. After much deliberation I have decided on a home win @2.10 with small to medium stakes. GL

FT 4-2 - TamU utter rubbish in first period but what a late hatrick!

Please do not give up, allow me time to find the league level, very early days, be careful with bets stakes until teams start to play more consistent, it will be good by the end of the season, last year 113 units profit proved.

My MyPa chance was really a guess, I was very close to putting 3/10 on Haka but they played so badly in the first round and MyPa squad has plenty of depth to it, all those players missing for MyPa I should have had more bottle but hopefully the preview that details all the missing players was not too misleading, overall MyPa should have won the game but missed so many chances!

Jaro is similar, not that I was going to bet for MIFK, that would not be true, my idea was on Jaro always but Jaro like MyPa played and missed som many chances..

Should be a good chance home win for KTP but this league is not yet settled and VPS will go for this game, based mainly on value and the fact KTP have been LUCKY! so far..

KTP are working out to be a more solid unit that I had given them credit for and they are correct to be favourites IMO however VPS are not close to giving up on the season so far, VPS lost to this years other newcomers Honka 2-1 in the first round and did not create too many chances but Honka I rate as a a tough team to beat this season and with both teams having met several times before in recent history Honka would know exactly how to play VPS, for KTP however this a entirely new game. IMO KTP were lucky to beat HJK, this was more due to HJK being out of sorts as well as playing a makeshift formation more than anything KTP did and the same could be said for the point v KuPS. Both results relied upon late winners

KTP still miss three key players in Leetma, Szilagyi & Kinnaslampi whilst VPS should name almost the same side that lost to Honka, former Allianssi forward Jon Poulsen might join his old team mate goalkeeper Sillanpää in the starting XI at the expense of Kullström.

In short KTP could and maybe should win this game but VPS will be a new challenge for them and the odds appear to high from some bookmakers with 1.90/4.00 being more realistic IMO. I give VPS a chance to snatch something with small stakes.

I think todays game is going to be tight but I am gonna have to go with KTP in this game. They have a very good record against VPS and have started this season looking ok and will get better as the season goes on.
