Default Betting Novice

Hi (great forum),

I have a small amount of cash left over from a bad weekend of betting, a mere £15. I want to try and look for a way of taking the less riskier option for tomorrow's matches. From a bit of research I've done I've chosen the following teams to be on.

definite teams:
standard liege 1/5 to bt Oostend (Belgium)
villareal 8/13 to bt Malaga (Spain)

unsure:
Genoa 4/5 to bt Empoli (Italia B)
Treviso 8/11 to bt Catanzaro (Italia B)
Olympiakos 1/2 to bt Aegaleo (Greece)
Ankaraspor 4/6 to bt Kayserispor (Turkey)

There is obviously too much risk in putting them all in a 14/1 accumulator so what would you suggest I do with the money so I'll have a chance of earning at least £60 (£45 + £15)?

Is it possible to get a 1 goal handicap on the 4 "unsure" teams in my local Ladbrokes? Or would it be possible to get odds on lets say 4 out of 6 teams winning?

Thanks.

PS, I can't bet any more on the net as my card is up to its limit so my local bookies is the only option. Any reply really appreciated as the matches start tomorrow noon.

villarreal 8/13
standard liege 1/5
genoa 4/5
treviso 8/11
olympiakos 1/2

£3 accum = £27
---

villarreal 8/13
standard liege 1/5
genoa 4/5
treviso 8/11
Ankaraspor 4/6

£3 accum = £30
---

villarreal 8/13
standard liege 1/5
genoa 4/5
olympiakos 1/2
Ankaraspor 4/6

£3 accum = £26
---

villarreal 8/13
standard liege 1/5
treviso 8/11
olympiakos 1/2
Ankaraspor 4/6

£3 accum = £25
---

villarreal 8/13
standard liege 1/5
genoa 4/5
treviso 8/11
olympiakos 1/2
Ankaraspor 4/6

£3 accum = £45

Total Staked: £15

If Villa and Standard win aswell as 3 of the other 4 the least I get back is £25.

If all teams win I get back £153.

Is this the best option do you think?

Thanks.

Hi! If I were you I wouldn't put Genoa in more than one bet. Genoa is really strong, but they host Empoli so the match is open to any result.. It's something like Juventus - Milan of yesterday. Let's say you'd like to back Milan, do you think it's a wise choice put it in almost all of your combos?
Imo Treviso should be a safer bet. I also wrote a preview on this forum.

I put the €15 on Treviso, Standard and Villarreal treble.

Ankaraspor are winning 2-0.

Ankaraspor won 4-1
Standard won 5-0
Treviso won 2-0
Genoa won 3-2
Olymiakos are winning 1-0 (h/t)
and Villarreal kick off in about 5 minutes.

So instead of wishing Villarreal to win for £153, I'm wishing them to win for about £53.

I know I'll still be making a decent profit but I'm still a bit disappointed that I didn't stick to the original bet.

Olympiakos drew 2-2 so i'm afraid £53 would be better than nothing.....
Lesson learned I hope!

Aye, I was delighted looking at that result. Villarreal are winning 2-0 with 15 minutes to play.

looks like you made the right call this time

just another proof that multi-team accums are the devils work. olympiakos were 2-0 up at one stage too. good call with your 3 selections

grahamq,

i'm glad that I saw this thread today and not before as its helped me to take a more restrained view.

I'm very glad that you won on your accumulator(albeit not as much as you'd hoped), however, i was HORRIFIED at the whole thread.

You said that you couldn't place the accumulator on the net, you had to go to your local bookies as your card was maxed out.

1) Why were you not using the £15 stake to pay off some of your card? You should NEVER gamble with money you don't have. This is INSANE. If you owe money on your card, pay it off. Don't gamble it away.

2) If you take odds at your local bookie esp on an accumulator you may as well give in gambling now. Accumulators are, due to bookmaker overround not a great bet. If you do HAVE to back an accumulator, (I do occasionally), then you HAVE to find the best odds. This means doing a LOT of shopping around on the internet and finding the best price. Going to your local bookie, unless you are incredibly lucky is financial suicide. (And you'd need to be lucky every time!!)

I'm really pleased you won, but please think hard about what i've just posted.
