ReasoningAnderlecht's home games regularly go over 2.5 goals(12 out of 14) and with goals usually more common at the end of the season these odds look rather generous.

I'm also looking into that over, not such a great price (1.58 Betfair)

ANDERLECHT home:
85% over
WESTERLO away: 46% over

BTW, Anderlecht win is a BANKER, -1 hc is worth 8/10

3 main Westerlo defenders are injured + 1 very good Westerlo defender is suspended!

For over 2.5, I have my doubts: westerlo will defend whole time and Anderlecht best striker Frutos is injured. In my eyes a typical 2-0, Anderlecht don't need a 5-0 victory..and westerlo won't score, they are just too pooor atm

Reasoning After two draws I don't think that Anderlecht will lose points again...They can't do that three times...they will win but the point is that what the goal difference may be...Just look at the last matches before two draws, I think that will give us a clue
*2006-04-07 Charleroi-Anderlecht 1-1
2006-03-31 Anderlecht-Lokeren 1-1*

2006-03-26 Club Bruges-Anderlecht 0-2
2006-03-18 Anderlecht-Beveren 4-0
2006-03-10 St.Truiden-Anderlecht 3-0
2006-03-05 Anderlecht-Lierse 3-0
2006-02-24 Roeselare-Anderlecht 0-2
2006-02-17 Anderlecht-FC Brussels 2-0

They may miss scorer Nicolas Frutos, still they got good strikers and I suppose Serhat Akın and Mpenza are good strikers enough to replace him...
Oleg Iachtchouk, Kompany and Juhasz are another missings for the home team...
Wasterloo has some important missings in defence and they have no a clear motivation for the match....
Home team will poabaly secure the 3 points early and wait for the Standard's losing points...

Good Luck

yep davidmphill; "Wasterloo will miss Wagemakers, Scasny and Beloufaand also experienced Van Kerckhoven is suspended for this game. Verheyen and Elejiko didn’t train yet and they are questionable"

Some friend say that Mpenza for Anderlecht will not be in the starting 11; Any info ?

that's correct, Vercauteren will probably leave him on the bench because of not in form recently, and choose for Pujol-Akin.

On the fansite of Anderlecht they suggest this as the most likely lineup...

Silvio Proto, Michal Zewlakow, Hannu Tihinen, Mark De Man, Olivier Deschacht, Yves Vanderhaeghe, Pär Zetterberg, Bart Goor, Christian Wilhelmsson, Serhat Akin, Grégory Pujol

substitutes: Zitka, Vanden Borre, Traoré, Tioté, Lovre, Mpenza, Siani

ReasoningOn paper this seems like an easy home win, especially since Westerlo will be missing a number of A-players (De Wilde, Beloufa, Verheyen, Wagemakers, Utaka, Scasny, plus the supsended Van Kerckhoven and Ntuka) mostly defenders. But also Anderlecht is handicapped, missing their most important striker Frutos. Instead we'll see the strikers duo Akin-Pujol, with Mbo Mpenza once more on the bench.

Can't see Westerlo scoring tonight, they have so much problmes and are out of form (last weekend lost 0-2 against Standard), so the question will remain how many goals they will lose tonight?

Well, considering what's coming next (the clash with Standard next weekend) and the importance of that game, side factors as yellow cards (both Akin and Deschacht will be out next week if they take tonight yellow), injuries (some players are light injured) etc will play - so i think Anderlecht will choose for a quick gap (1 or 2-0) and then they will close the game. So i would advise to stay away from the over and to be very careful with the handicap.

Prediction: home win

Anderlecht - Westerlo

pick: Anderlecht -1 !!

Odds: 1.62

Bookmaker: Bet365

Well, everything but a home win will be strange in this case. Westerlo, without it's strong defender Van Kerckhoven and many injured defenders is just too weak for this Anderlecht. The team from the capital can't count on his scoring machine Frutos, bad thing but they still have Serhat Akin and Mbo Mpenza to score against a “little” team.

What happened last week with Anderlecht? They played in Charleroi, scored a very early goal and they thought that they had won. At the end, it was the last minute of the match, substitued Akpala scored the equaliser. Whole Anderlecht was ANGRY and dissapointed, Standard is the new leader in the competition! Anderlecht played OK whole game, they got several good chances, Goor hit the bar, Goor missed a big chance etc.. At the end of the second half they began to be nervous and they conceeded a goal.

Westerlo lost his game as expekted against Standard. Standard scored already after 11 seconds, it was a big fault of westerlo goalkeeper Gaspercic who just gave pass to standard player Negouai. After that goal, they played very slow, clearly without motivation, but they still had several chances to score the equaliser. After the second goal of Standard (beautyfull free-kick scored by Rapaic) Westerlo was K.O.

Well, whole Belgium knows that Westerlo has no chance in Constant Van Den Stock stadion. Anderlecht still in running for the championship, and they MUST win. If we compare both squads, Anderlecht has much better team than Westerlo. Westerlo plays for nothing, and with many injured players it will be very difficult. No chance for Westerlo here!

Westerlo: Niko Van Kerckhoven is suspended. Wagemakers got an injure in the game against Standard and he is out till the end of the season. Elejiko,Verheyen, Scasny and Beloufa (3 defenders!) are all doubtfull!!

Anderlecht: Juhasz and Kompany are out till the end of the season. Strikers Frutos and Iahchtchuk are injured

AA Gent - Charleroi : Under 2.5

Odds: 1.95

Bookmaker: Nordicbet

Well, despite the form of Gent, it will be a very difficult match. Gent is flying-high this days, from new year, they got the most points. But, it seems that they are bit tired now, Boussoufa (who is a half-God in Gent) got an injury and he played bad in Lokeren. Charleroi is very dangerous opponent, they just are just eliminated from the cup, and are very ANGRY

Gent won his game in Lokeren. Local derby you know, hot atmosphere in the stadion, but not in the field. In the first 5 minutes Boussoufa got an injury, played whole game, but was weak Still, his 17th assist and Foley scored the 0-1. After the goal, very boring game till the HT. After that Lokeren begun to press BIG. They got good chances, and Hakim Bouchouari scored a beauty equaliser. In the last quarter of the game, again Foley, he scored a REAL beauty, Gent tribune begun to siiiing
In fact the FAIR result should be DRAW, because both teams played not sooo good, and nobody deserved the 3 points.

Charleroi got his DESERVED points against Anderlecht. It was a 50-50 game, Anderlecht got big chances, but Charleroi got also their chances. At the end of the game Akpala scored the equaliser. Whole Mambourg went crazy! But thuesday they had a BLACK day. They are eliminated for the Cup final. It was a big dissapointment for the fans, for the whole team because Moeskroen was surely not the better side. Charleroi got good chances, they even scored one more (game ended in 1-1) but it was 40 cm offside for Sterchele. Moeskroen played good, but Charleroi was for sure able to win that one and win the game ...

Honestly, I don't think that Gent can win this one. Charleroi away is very weak, but they are very hungry. It can be an advantage, but also a dissadvantage. That make a no 1x2 bet here, the odds for Gent are around 1.60 and that's imo not the right price. I don't say Charleroi X2 is value, better to take Under, as Gent attack is not the best one, with tired strikers and the same for Charleroi. That makes probably a boring game, without many chances.. 1-0 or 2-0

Gent: Only De Beule is doubtfull
Charleroi: Defays and Sterchele are suspended and that's a big loss for Charleroi!

May be a bit of an obvious one but like the look of GENK tonight.

They have a fantastic record in the h2h's;

Genk v Lierse
20-NOV-05Lierse1-2GenkBelgium Jupiler L.
07-MAY-05Lierse1-5GenkBelgium Jupiler L.
04-DEC-04Genk3-0LierseBelgium Jupiler L.
28-FEB-04Genk2-0LierseBelgium Jupiler L.
27-SEP-03Lierse3-5GenkBelgium Jupiler L.
03-MAY-03Genk5-2LierseBelgium Jupiler L.
01-DEC-02Lierse1-1GenkBelgium Jupiler L.
16-FEB-02Lierse1-2GenkBelgium Jupiler L.
22-SEP-01Genk4-2LierseBelgium Jupiler L.
17-MAR-01Genk2-0LierseBelgium Jupiler L.
13-OCT-00Lierse1-1GenkBelgium Jupiler L.

You have to go back to 1998 to find the last time Lierse won at Genk.

Genk are unbeaten at home in 10 and have a superb home record - 10-4-1. Recenet form has seen them win the last 2. They have been struggling for goal lately but found 2 in the last 2 mintues against Roeselare to win 2-1. However this only makes 8 in the last 9.

Lierse are struggling, 2nd from bottom and have lost 4 from the last 6. Their away record is the worst in the league 2-3-10 and have only scored 7 in 15!!!

So two bets for me;

GENK AH (-1) @ 1.65 8/10
UNDER 2.5 @ 1.96 7/10

la louviere vs club brugge

Brugge simply must win that match. They are playing against La louviere, one of the worst teams. With Genk winning and being only one point behind brugge, cb must win in order not to loose the uefa cup spot. Maybe the change of the coach will also help. Allthough you dont need to much in order to beat la louviere... better roster for sure and im confident 10/10 that club brugge wont loose any points... this can easily end with cb trashing la louviere.

I'm totally with you on this one mate.

As you say, Club Brugge MUST win this one to hold on to third place, things are really tight at the top;

1. Anderlecht31189467 - 2763
2. Standard30187550 - 2461
3. Club Brugge30159644 - 3254
4. AA Gent31166945 - 3454
5. Racing Genk31158844 - 3353

Although Brugge havent been in the best of form lately, they've had come pretty tough fixtures (including Gent and Anderlecht). Goals have been hard to come by recently too (5 in the last 6) but I really think they can overcome this against a very poor La Louviere side. They haven't won away since the winter break but the squad with the added influence of the new coaach seem positive;

"We don't expect less than taking three points there. We must win this weekend. We have trained another week with our new trainer and that should contribute to a succesful away game."

La Louviere are winless in 15! And have only won four at home all season, the last of which coming way back in November!

A definite pointer to this game is the past h2h's;
