| Re: NHL Tue 6/3 Im cold as Bruce Willis in all of the Die Hard movies...excluding the part when he is with his wife...2-8 last two outings....but the cold streak must have an end sometime... | Sport | Ice Hockey | | Event | Calgary Flames @ St. Louis Blues | | Selection | Calgary Flames OT exc. | | Strength | 10/10 | | Date | 06/03/2007 | | Bookmaker/Price | Expekt @ 2.05 (Back) | | Reasoning | Calgary in a batlle for a playoff spot, as they still have decent shot to win the Northwest and St. Louis cahances are really minimal - only theoretical. Also Calgary owing the series big time, as they won last 10 h2hs, and all of last 5 here in regulation.
Also cant see a lot of scoring as both keepers seem hot, Kiprusoff found his rhytm again and injured Legace who is on his way back is barely noticeable with great saving of Curtis Sanford. One big edge for the Flames is also chart play, as they are 9-2-0-1 when playing with 2 day rest after a win, while Blues are only 3-5-1-1 in same periosd after lost game.
Calgary without any important injured players and since Ignila came back, theyre doing great and are strong contenders for one of the 6 playoff places in the Western Conference. Also in form Huselius has at least one point in last three games - now 4th scorer with 64 points. | | Sport | Ice Hockey | | Event | Florida Panthers @ Atlanta Thrashers | | Selection | Atlanta Thrashers OT exc. | | Strength | 10/10 | | Date | 06/03/2007 | | Bookmaker/Price | Sportingodds @ 1.85 (Back) | | Reasoning | Another matchup in which the Trashers are catching the last train to playoffs and Panthers are behind, so no play offs for them this season. Trashers are playing great since they treded Hossa and are on a w3 atreak..yeah also Florida playing good hockey with w4 in a row. But motivation, Atlanta are now par on 78 points with Lightning in the Southeast and it will be a battle to the end for the 8 spot in the playoffs.
Well Trasgers owing the series vs Florida, that really cant be ignored - they won all 6 h2h vs Florida this season and are looking for a sweep vs them (they have one more game vs them on saturday). The only problem for the Atlanta was their goalie Lehtonen, highly rated but underperforming for the much of the season, has now picked up the pace and allowed only 5 goals in 3 matches , every time crossint the .900 SP mark.
Motivation for the playoffs, Hossa and Lehtonen, combined with hisotrical advantage should be enough for Trashers. |
