Difficult match this one. Marian Gaborik has made an impact at once entering the ice for the Wilds. Blackhawks have lost 5 in a row, and 3 of those were without Marty Havlat, he is back for his one... He and the change of coach has been the biggest boost for the team getting back in the game after a terrible start of this year season. No doubt Havlat can be the difference between a winning or a losing team. Their captain, Adrian Aucoin will not play though, defensively a big loss for the Hawks. Khabibulin are also not showing his skills like earlier, so he might get some rest tonight. Their backup goalie Boucher has not shown anything so far and the team are sorely dependent of a fresh and fit Khabibulin. Unfourtunately I can`t confirm who will play, but it is sure that Fernandez will be in the net for the Wilds.

Minnesota 6-15-1 away so far, but have won the latest 2 against in-form teams like Oilers and Canucks. Against Chicago they are 5-0-0 since oct. 05.

Considering backing Minnesota, Gaborik back and their sudden boost in away form may be the key to another win. Nothing decided yet though...

Todays only bet...

Sport Ice Hockey
Event Minnesota Wild @ Chicago Blackhawks
Selection Minnesota Wild total goals scored Over 2.5 (OT included)
Strength 7/10
Date 14/01/2007
Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 1.76 (Back)
Reasoning Looking at the Wild current goalscoring form and Khabibulins recent performances (in last 5 games he achieved only one good game), this one looks easy. If we add to that, fact that Minessota owns the series against Blachawks, winning last 5, and 8/10, this bet looks very nice indeed. Im predicting a win today for the Wild, but im rather going for the total goals...got better feeling about it and the odds on that particular bet are even better than the ML on Wild...it is their 4 match in 5 days...so better stick with their recent surprising goalscoring form and expectation of Khabibulins weak play...anyway the Wings who rarely score more than 3 or 4, got 6 past him, so that should be a good signal, doesnt it?

Im giving this match a 7/10, as im new to this kind of betting and prefer to bet on the sides.

Another options:
Minessota ML @ 1.75 Ladbrokes
Minessota regualtion @ 2.20 Porlandbet

I also think that Wilds are closer to the victory tonight. Especialy 'couse the fact that they have never won 3 consecutive away games in the teams history. So they will be very kean to do so at Chicago. But, there's always a difference between wishes and capabilyties. The main qustion is are the Wilds good enough to beat the Blackhawks? I belive that creating a history is always exiting and the Wild squad will probably be on fire tonight.

Another thing confuses me. That's the odds on Wlids. Tulenos gave us list of bookies and every of them pay the away win around 1,75. I've still got Wilds @ 2,25 in my local, and on Betexplrer.com the avarage odds is still 2,19. So is it dropping or what?

Don't know what to do.

Well I must say I told a lie. Minesota did won 3 times an a row in the past. Sorry.

well i was looking the odds in the morning and they are pretty much the same now...only the odds on my bet have fallen....by about -0,3.

Dont know...i would go for Wild, but the Havlat factor is now present...so im looking for Miny goalscoring form to continue and that Khabibulin will be at least slightly tired and in yesterdays form

Tulenos odds are based on moneyline, not 1x2. In other words the odds you have are correct and not dropping...

Have to mention that in February 2nd to 10th 2006, the Wilds won 3 consecutive away matches, San Jose, Edmonton and Phoenix were beaten...

The odds - I always use ML odds as this is what I mostly bet on. As kimera said, your odds were 1X2 which are always much higher, because of the third option - the tie. There are also handicap (-1.5 pucks) odds as well as over/under ones. Plus a host of other markets available for all matches. Hope it's clear now/

Not betting tonight, can't find any edge, but best of luck to all who have bet on anything

Well, have been searching through a lot of forums looking for which goalie to start for Chicago and it is still unclear. The fans are clear in one thing though, Khabibulin has been crap lately... Some says that Boucher will get his 15th game tonight. He has 1-9-3-1, stats speaking for itself regarding his performances so far.

Going for Minnesota tonight, relying on form and Chicagos big troubles recently.

My bet:
Minnesota Wild 2.24 @betsson

Nikolai Khabibulin is the probable starting goalie tonight for Chicago as usual.

Yeah, checked it out too, but in Nhl I have seen many times coaches wait until warm-up doing changes. But for now Khabibulin is the most probable starter, no doubt about it. Looks like we only have to wait and see...

Good luck to you too...

7-7-2 -81$
Chicago - Minnesota OVER 5.5
Khaby vs Fernandez - both goalies are really good but:
- Khaby's little fatigued in my opinion
- CHI play shaky in defence
- MIN is really hot (Gaborik, Rolston, Demitra)
- CHI has Havlat back
CHI-MON over 5.5 2.24 pinnacle stake 10/10 (100$)

And here's me wanting a simple life of anonymity!

Thanks mate.
Yeah, can't really explain the Aussie participation (and solid at that!) on this site...
...maybe it's the whole time dif thing. Get home, have a few beers in front of the computer while checking out various sport results and angles?
We do get to se a fair bit of live (esp. US) sports...

Who knows...maybe we're all just too lazy to earn a proper living

(PS. I did notice you're leading S-P early yourself mate. Fine work indeed. )

lol...well the name TazaD with that avatar picture is IMO on of the coolest things in the forum, and didnt you know, champions cant live in anonimity...

hehe..yeah well you do have an advantage when it comes to US sports...if i want to watch a game...better wake up till 3am...and during the workdays thats impossible...must admit that you from down under doing a hell of job up here..

heh..must say, im quite proud of the position... it started completely out of boredom after new year..but also know i have no chance against such quality punters as there are on this site...hell, horse bettors do 2 in a row and they make 50 pts....anyway, have used "print screen" button, and im savouring the current standings now

I know!

There should be a "minimum amount of legs" rule...say 10? (5 players on court in a basketball game)

I mean, who does it affect? Surely no-one bets on beach volleyball, or squash, or royal tennis, or grey-hounds, or 10-pin bowling...

No, sorry, from now on, I suggest we have one comp for real sports, and one for horses (and tennis players ...unless we just exclude 4 legs exactly, 'cause surely no-one bets on doubles either? )

[PS. I'm no chance anyway if the boss keeps grading winners as losers for me!...ie. Clips @ Atl under 192 ]

huh i dont have problem with that...as is see it SP is meant as a help for others...and i become quite intersted in horse racing lately (counting for an award to open an account...lol)...

anyway...whats going on my nerves is that some are "betting" nearly every game...damn. you can see in a second that they are not putting their money on the picks...they are simply award hunters... and dont give a shit if their pick win or losses......but surely everybody (i hope also the newbies) can spot that in a second...
