Default Re: NHL Mon 15/1

These are my thoughts about the games to night:

NY Islanders vs Tampa Bay, X 4.10@Expekt
Islanders are 8-6-8 at home and they are 2-1-2 at home the last five. Tampa Bay are 8-5-10 away and they are 2-1-2 in the last five games away. I think this can be a tight game and I think that there is a 50% chance of a tie in regulation.

Boston vs Buffalo, X 4.10@Expekt
Boston are 8-6-8 at home and they are 3-1-1 at home the last five.
Buffalo are 10-8-4 away and they are 3-1-1 away the last five.
They have meet each other two times this seson and they have tied one and Buffalo has won one.
I think this will be an open game with a lot of goals, but I think it will end up with a tie in regulation, dispite the fact that all the statistics are talking for victory for Buffalo.

Dallas vs Los Angeles, 2 3.80@Expekt
Dallas are in a negativ trend at home and have lost three of the last five at home. Overall they are 12-1-8 at home.
Los Angeles are also in a negativ trend and have lost four of the last five on the road. Lately they lost three, won one, lost two, won one, lost three. If they follow this tred they will win to night :-)

Phoenix vs St. Louis, 1 2.05@Expekt
Phoenix will end the negativ trend and win to night. They did good results in the road tripp 4-1-0, but they couldn't keep it up when they returned home. Now they have played two games at home and lost both, it's time for the to start to win again, I think it will start to night.
St Louis have played quit good lately and only lost one game on the road of the last five (2-2-1). But to night and think they will loose against a fighting Phoenix that has gone back to the basics of hockey; hard work and playing simple in the defence.

Nashville vs Calgary, 2 3.20@Expekt
Nashville are without any doubs the favorite in this game, they are 16-6-2 at home and this is great figures. They won the last meeting with 3-1 and I think that Calgary is looking for revenge and Nasville will have a hard day at work.
Calgary are 6-4-10 away, but they have start play better on road lately and they have tree victories in the last six road games (3-1-2). I think they can be an unpleasant surprise for Nashville.

Detroit vs Montreal, 1 1.90@Expekt
Detroit have won the last six games at home and they are 14-4-3 at home. The only thing that can be against Detroit to night is thet all suits will end sooner or later. I don't think it will end to night, but for every victory they get closer to be defeated.
Montreal are 1-0-4 the last five away and overall 9-4-9. They lost the last game againt Ottawa, 3-8 and I don't think they can win over Detroit to night either.

San Jose vs Colorado, X 4.15@Expekt
San Jose has only tied one game at and that was against St. Louis in the first game this season. But I think that they will tie to night against Colorado that are 2-2-1 in the last five on the road. Avalanche tied the last away game against Anaheim and I think they can manage to do that again to night.

Good Luck and have a nice day

ReasoningHome Team:
Islanders are 8-6-8 at home and they are 2-1-2 at home the last five. Their power play has been good latley with 23.5% the last five games, but their penalty killing can be better, 80% the last five games.

New Jersey, 1-2 OT.
Philadelphia, 2-3.
New Jersey, 0-2.
NY Rangers, 2-0.
Columbus, 2-0.

PP%: 16.3
PK%: 80.4

Away Team:
Tampa Bay are 8-5-10 away and they are 2-1-2 in the last five games away. Their power play is very good with 26.7% last five games. Their penalty killing is quite good with 83.3%.

Last Five Away:
Buffalo, 4-2.
Pittsburgh, 3-2 SO.
Colorado, 2-4.
Minnesota, 3-2.
Montreal, 2-5.

Statistics:
Average away: 3.35 GM and 3.61 GA

Conclusion:
This will be an even game between to equal teams and I think that the chance of a tie is 50%.

Prediction of match result: 3-3.

ReasoningHome Team:
Nashville are without any doubs the favorite in this game, they are 16-6-2 at home and this is great figures.
Their PP has been really bad lately with 9.1% the last five games. Their PK has been good with 87% last five games. They won the last meeting with 3-1 and I think that Calgary is looking for revenge and Nasville will have a hard day at work.

Last Five at Home:
Columbus, 2-0.
Anaheim, 5-4 OT.
St. Louis, 3-2.
Colorado, 3-5.
Boston, 5-0.

Statistics:
Average at home: 4.05 GM and 2.62 GA
PP%: 17.6
PK%: 85.2

Away Team:
Calgary are 6-4-10 away, but they have start play better on road lately and they have tree victories in the last six road games (3-1-2). Their PP have been really bad with 10.5% last five games. Their PK insn't good with 73.7% last five games. Anyway I think they can be an unpleasant surprise for Nashville.

Last Five Away:
Colorado, 7-3,
Vancouver, 5-6 OT.
San Jose, 1-4,
Los Angeles, 5-3.
Anaheim, 1-4.

Statistics:
Average away: 2.85 GM and 3.35 GA
PP%: 15.1
PK%: 79.0

Conclusion:
Nashville is the favorite, but Calgary has a good chance to win if Nashville is looking ahead for the next game against their divisions rival Detroit that they will meet October 17.

Prediction of match result: 3-4.

Anybody think the LA kings goalie problems could sink them against the Dallas Stars?
. Both these teams losers of three
straight. Stars are of course big favorites, even though
they are without five regulars and just played an 18th game
without captain Mike Modano. But their plight is nothing
compared to the problems that the Kings are having in goal.
Number one and two kings goalies Dan Cloutier and Matthieu
Garon are both out with injuries so the kings are down to
Number 3 and four goalies. Barry Brust and Yutaka Fukufuji.
Brust was yanked from LA’s 6-5 loss at St Louis Saturday after
Allowing five goals. Fukufuji took over and the 24 year old
admitted being nervous and played like it allowing a goal
on just five shots. It’s expected that Marc Crawford
will go with Brust ..today but does it really matter.
Kings also own the leagues 3rd worst defense and own the NHLs
worst penalty kill.

Stars although beat up, are still a great defensive club, allowing the third
least amount of shots per game in the NHL and the Stars
have the complete edge in goal with Marty Turco expected to start today.

Kings 1-5 straight up last six road games..and Dallas has won all
five meetings with LA this season..We see no reason to think it won’t
Be six after today. Question is can Dallas cover the goal and a half.
We think they can. Dallas to win and cover the goal and a half as
Home ice favorites over the LA Kings is our free pick today

Tampa bay @ NY Islanders, pick Tampa bay ML
Tampa bay is way better team, has won already 4 straight and 7 straight over islanders, Tampa bay goalie is 2-0 vs Islanders, I see this streak will continue this game has a strong possibility to go to overtime, so I'm going for the ML. Rick DiPietro is a good goalie, but has lost all the games vs TB

Buffalo @ Boston, pick Sabres ML
Buffalo has trouble scoring goals, but they have a good goalie. In last game Boston scored only 1 goal and I think they will have trouble scoring today. Buffalo will have Miller in goal, should be no problem for him to stop Bruins, I think Buffalo will win this Boston team today and turn around their loosing streak. Buffalo has won 3 straight vs Boston. Buffalo is the better team and I think today they will turn their loosing streak around.

Bets...sorry for bad reasonings, but just too much matches tonight...and a lot of them early...

Sport Ice Hockey
Event Los Angeles Kings @ Dallas Stars
Selection Los Angeles Kings regulation only
Strength 4/10
Date 15/01/2007
Bookmaker/Price Ladbrokes @ 3.75 (Back)
Reasoning Im going for the value in this one, Stars injured heavily they are loosing players on daily basis, so no better time for Kings to make the bigest upset of the day. Brust in goal for them..ok thats bad, but Dallas probably wont have more than 25 shots whole game…also looking at his stats, he is pretty good when playing b2b game. Looking for an upset in this one.

port Ice Hockey
Event Buffalo Sabres @ Boston Bruins
Selection Buffalo Sabres regulation only
Strength 10/10
Date 15/01/2007
Bookmaker/Price Ladbrokes @ 2.00 (Back)
Reasoning Tipical chart pla. Buffalo won 9/10 matches, they are performin recetly better away…i see the advantage in better goalie..and also Boston are receiving a lot lately, simply cant see Sabres loosing 3 in a row
Sport Ice Hockey
Event Tampa Bay Lightning @ New York Islanders
Selection Tampa Bay Lightning OT included
Strength 10/10
Date 15/01/2007
Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 2.04 (Back)
Reasoning TB are hot and going for record 5 straight win this season. They own the series against Islanders winning both games this season, and last 9 h2h. Great performances form Martin St. Luis and Vincent Lcavalier, who are both named for reserves at the NHL all star match. Denis SAvard was great last time out but probable goalie is Holmqwist who has 2-0 record this season against Islander, averaging 1.44 GAA. Tampa also better when playing with one day rest.
Teams are similar in P Pand PK..but TB better in last five in both departments…
Picks: Tampa ML, under 6, Tampa over 2 ½ goals.

notice that i foukced up with the reasoning for the
Tampa Bay Lightning @ New York Islanders match on the SP site..i mistakenly posted the analysis of the Detroit match...this is the right one...like i said, just too much to do today....I apologize for mistake

Ok i think thats the last for the day...quite lot of action....

Sport Ice Hockey
Event Montreal Canadiens @ Detroit Red Wings
Selection Detroit Red Wings regulation only
Strength 10/10
Date 15/01/2007
Bookmaker/Price Ladbrokes @ 1.90 (Back)
Reasoning Nothing but a clear home win, would be a surprise here for me. Canadiens in a slump as they are 4-7-0 in last eleven games. Also their scoring just isnt on the level that it could be, never mind the defence. Detroit on the other hand is scoring, 6 vs CH, 5 vs PHO and 3 vs CLB…very impressive for the Wings lately Henrik Zetterberg who had three assists in Detroit`s 6-3 win over Chicago and 17 points in last 13 games (5/12). Lets add the goalie with the least GAA (2.03), he is also 5-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA in his last five home games.
Detroit better when playing with 1 day rest (15-7) compared to 11-12 of Cans.
Huet who was scheduled to rest tha last game against Ottawa, eventually played as reserve goalie sucked..and he eventually did one of his worst games with only .760 SP.
Detroit much better in SOG and SA…also better PP and PP stats for the Wings.
It would be a big upset if Cans take anything form hthis game.

Good luck everybody

I quess not quite 50% chance of tie. 50% chance @ 4,1 would make this odd of a year. Average % of tie in NHL is usually around 22% (not a fact, have not checked) and this year it has for some reason been even lower.

You picked X and Expert picked Tampa Bay so I have to pick Islanders so that we definelity get one early winner today. Both of your thoughts has made sense and there has been good facts and I'm also waiting tight game. These teams are quite even IMO and I believe home advantage to turn this game to Islanders. When odds are quite even I think most of the value lies in Islanders.

Isles to beat Tampa at regulation @ 2,52 @ Betfair

Let's see what happens. GL to all!

Reasoning This one looks like a banker as Aerbischer looks to be confirmed as a starting goalie for the Cans. Odds seems to be dropping ,as i got this bet @ 1.952 @ 5Dimes, Pinny has it only for 1.82.

Looks like a very good bet, considering Wings recent scoring form.

You're absolutly right the chance for a tie in NHL overall is much lower than 50%, but I calculated it to around 50% and that is based on the system I'am developing

By the way a did a huge mistake when I posted the tip, the event is NOT correct (Detroit vs Montreal) it was supposed to be Islanders vs Tampa Bay as the reasoning is saying, I made a stupid c/p mistake

Have A Nice Day
