Default Nhl 9/1/2007

Detroit Red Wings @ Colorado Avalanche:
Detroit Red Wings Money Line StanJames @ 2.00

Detroit own the series against Colorado, having won last 6 h2h. They are also welcoming back the veteran Chris Chelios who should give them confidence at the back. Yes they are on a streak of three defeats, and Avalnche quite opposite with 3 straight wins, but with the full lineup, Hasek in form and the trends firmly behind them i am quite confident of putting my money on them tonight. Also Datsyuk was back on ice on sunday but failed to grab any points, i expect that he will pick up at least an assist. . Other stats…much too many PP goals let in by Colorado and Wings should improve in PP department, they lost to Sharks just because they conceeded 6/9. They hit two times in PP agains Ducks. Also Liles out for Avalanche – a big blow for them with Brisebois already out.

Atlanta Thrashers @ Montreal Canadiens
Atlanta Thrashers (OT included) @ 2.15

Canadiens still strugling with the flu infection which has hit tem hard and made them lost 2 matches over the weekend. They even cancelled trainig yesterday (again) and as i read, few players even played with high temperature and trew up on the bench. Cant see them holding against attacking Atlanta for all 3 periods

Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators
Ottawa Senators (regulation time only) @ 1.80

Ottawa in good form, Boston won match against poor Philly wh was withou Forsberg and lost two against injury plagued Toronto. Boston won last match, but it was really a funny one as Timmy Thomas has one of the matches this year and Emery and gerber conceeded 7 from 26 shots. Cant see that happening today, but im also not fond of playing Senators on -1.5 as the odds seta at 1.8 on regualation win are just satisfying enough

New York Islanders @ New York Rangers
New York Islanders (OT included) @ 2.45

This one is a gut bet with also few edges that might go my way.
1st edge - Islanders won last three against rangers, both in this season
2nd edge - Islanders are in a slump with 6 consecutive losses, but just look when their losses begun - yeah last win was against Rangers
3rd edge - Rangers without their top star jaromir Jagr - big blow for them
4th edge Di Pietro in good form - Ok last two were under par performances but before that 2 SO in 5 and never under .931. Well his oppoent Lundqvist is also finding his form lately, and we might be seeing great goalie performace.

Thats enough for me as the value is high for the team who won last three h2h but of course playing with only half the usual stakes.

might have one late bet...but waiting for more info on some players...

Jagrless Rangers much weaker than when Jagr is in the line-up. This said, can't get myself to pick a winner in this fierce derby which always ptoduces goals but best of luck, expert.

Phoenix are the hottest team in NHL atm, off 6 wins and playing Dallas who are just 2-3 in L5 and are returning home after three matches on the road. Unfortunately the Stars own the Coyotes (won L5 H2Hs), but still the odds of 2.40+ on Phx look tempting.

Atlanta look a nice pick indeed. I watched the Mtl game vs. NYR on Saturday night and the Canadians were as if not present for good thirty minutes of the match. It looks like the flu bug is still there so Atlanta @ odds against are surely worth a punt.

I hear you mate - don't scream so loud

5-4-1 +45$

Nashville - Anaheim UNDER 5,5
Tomas Vokoun (2.49 GAA, 1 SO) vs Ilya Bryzgalov (2.35 GAA, 1 SO). Vokoun missed 20 games and should be extra motiveted tonight. Both goalies are very solid - I really don't think one of them can play crap tonight I'm going under here.

NSH-ANA under 5,5 1.91 bet365 stake 10/10 (100$)

If anyone's expecting any real picks from me atm, I have to say I'm just getting back to it after not being able to follow NHL for most of the season now so I'll be posting some observations for the time being, although I myself have had a few flutters this season already and am betting atm as well, but I would consider it irresponsible to post plays with too short or no reasoing behind them. Well done expert and other to keep NHL threads going

BTW, Atlanta still available @ 2.15 @ PP and 2.12 @ Pinnacle while the general price is rather nearer to evens (2.05).

volodya - best of luck with your pick, although Vokoun tends to be a bit rusty when off the ice for some time as he's the guy who needs to be playing consistently to get the best results. the under still looks good, this is just one but...

No wanna after-event, but have been backing Phx for some time now as well so can well afford to lose this one (which I hope won't happen). We'll see.

You're right I've been here for some time, some years back there was almost no traffic in the NHL thread so happy it's got going recently (last season in fact). Will be around now, no fear, mate

BTW, Forsberg didn't skate yeasterday or in the morning, but it's still "up in the air" whether he will play or not. I saw him playing last week and even though he was present on ice, he looked out of sorts during the whole game.

yes i see he spent only 7 mins on ice against Islanders....will wait for few mins, but if i am catching your drift corectly...even if he plays he wont be THE Forsberg than Philly desperatelly needs right now.

great odds, no Forsberg, latest h2h....smells like they will trash the Penguins today.

Thanks for the info mate, very much appreciate your feedback.....damn and i almost went on a hunger strike

Nice to see the nhl threads follow suit, going to daily threads.

Today i'm all dogs, all away teams.
Could be beautiful, could be ugly.
I agree with the phx, atlanta leans. Habs may have recovered but they're coming against a team that doesn't seem to give much away.
A lot of people seem to be on ottawa, but it looks very short to me. So short I've jumped on to the other side.

gl all
