Default NFL Futures

Looking at the odds for NFC/AFC Champs their are some tasty odds out there.

Seattle Seahawks NFC Champs @11.00
The Seahwks have been flying under the radar for 2 seasons now after representing th NFC in Super Bowl XL. Much of the same team remains minus LG Steve Hutchinson, but they have added better defensive talent since then. LB Julian Peterson is one of the best and can really be a difference maker.
The Seahawks start with the Redskins, Vikings or Saints. Most likely the Redskins. While those teams are hot neither can keep up with the Seahawks in the passing game.
The Seahawks would than travel to Green Bay. The Packers have been mediocre of late and Matt Hasselbeck knows he can make plays on the Packers D. This game would depend alot on Brett Favre, the Seahawks can force him into mistakes since they have done a great job on pressuring the QB.
If the Hawks could get past Green Bay they will most likely play Dallas. Seattle beat Dallas in last seasons Wild Card game on the infamous Romo bobble. Seahawks match up well with Dallas. Seattle shut down TO in the playoffs last season holding him to 2rec 26yds. Their defense has played better than it did last season, by being more aggressive and we have seen Romo make mistaks under pressure. Offensively Hasselbeck is one of the few QBs who can take advantage of Dallas' mediocre secondary.
It will be tough to win 3 games, and 2 on the road vs teams with a combined 25-5 record but Seattle has the players and at odds of 11.00 are worth a shot.

I like the value of the Colts@5.00 or San Diego @13.00 to win the AFC but haven't decided on which team yet.

Terribly over-rated team in by far the worst Div in the NFL.

Interesting that Wash have a slightly worse ypp, but better since Collins took the reigns...
Redskins better defense, better running game...

If they don't lose staight up, they get PUMPED @ GB

Sorry, but stick to Indi to win it all (Well, yes, the Conf for a start! )

Washington @21.00
Sure it goes against my Seattle pick but the Skins if they win will face a Dallas team they embarassed and those were starters for the most part. The Skins also outplayed the Packers in Lambeau only for a BS call that took back a 40 yard play. The next play the Packers return a fumble and wind up winning 17-14. I really believe the winner of this game will have a good chance to get to Arizona in February, and both have excellent value. Collins after all his years of collecting 6 figures for practicing and holding a clip board has finally been given the chance to lead a playoff team. Gibbs is the best coach in the NFC and this team has loads of confidence. This team has the look of the 2005 Steelers and are poised for a run.

I don't think Seattle is overrated. The NFC West is terrible but it is better than the AFC East, NFC South and perhaps better than the AFC West. In fact other than the NFC East and AFC South the NFC West is just like most divisions. They finished the year 7-2 (excluding last weeks meaningless game) and lost those 2 games by 3 points each. Both games were accross the country at 1:00 ET. They are peaking at the right time, are well coached and a veteran team. 5th year in row in the playoffs, every starter has playoff experience.
