Default MLB Sunday 18th May

New York Yankees - New York Mets

Selection - New York Yankees -1.5 (5 Point bet)

Chien-Ming Wang pitches for the Yankees tonight

Wang is 6-1 for the Yankees this year with a 2.90 ERA
Wang is 3-1 for the Yankees at home this year with 4.20 ERA
Wang is 52-19 for the Yankees career with a 3.66 ERA

Wang is 1-0 against the Mets (June 17, 2007, 8-2 Victory, Wang threw 8 complete innings)

Oliver Perez pitches for the Mets tonight

Perez is 3-3 for the Mets this year with a 4.61 ERA
Perez is 2-2 for the Mets this year with a 3.86 ERA
Perez is 48-56 career with a 4.43 ERA

The Yankees are desperate for a victory tonight with there record slumping to 20-23 with last nights 7-4 defeat to the mets and Santana, pressure is on tonight and I fully expect an aggressive performance from them. With ace Wang on the mound I expect a very good solid 7 innings with Joba Chamberlain and Rivera (Best Bullpen in Baseball) to relieve him in the 8th and 9th. There Bats are starting to get hotter and look for an attempt to get at Perez early on.

Agree with the Yanks winning this

NYY -2.5
Wang is 2-1, with a 1.67 ERA in his last four starts. He allowed two runs in 8 2-3 innings of an 8-2 win over the Mets on June 17 at Yankee Stadium in his only start against them. Wang has not received a run from the Yankees' offense while going 0-1 in his last two starts overall, gave up a run and seven hits in seven innings of a 2-1 11-inning loss on Tuesday at Tampa Bay. He's only given up four runs over his last 17.0 innings pitched but the Yankees have countered with just one run on their end. Wang has gone at least 6.0 innings in every game but one.

Perez has a 9.31 ERA in his last four starts. One of Perez's biggest problems this season has been walks. He's put 27 runners on base in his 41.0 innings pitched this year.

Yankees are 4-1 in Wangs last 5 interleague starts.
Yankees are 41-16 in Wangs last 57 starts.
Yankees are 28-9 in Wangs last 37 home starts.
Yankees are 47-17 in Wangs last 64 starts as a favorite.
Yankees are 28-9 in Wangs last 37 starts as a home favorite.

Mets are 2-5 in their last 7 games as a road underdog.
Mets are 5-12 in their last 17 road games vs. a right-handed starter.
Mets are 1-4 in their last 5 interleague games as an underdog.
Mets are 7-19 in their last 26 interleague road games vs. a right-handed starter.
Mets are 2-5 in Perezs last 7 starts.

Mets are 8-18 in the last 26 meetings in New York
