Boston - Seattle under 9.5
Wakefield is 0-6 despite a respectable 3.96 ERA against the Mariners in 17 appearances, including eight starts, since the start of the 1998 season. Wakefield has lost all five of his starts versus Seattle since 2004, although he has received no run support in three of those outings. He limited the Mariners to one run and five hits over eight innings May 28, striking out a season-high eight without a walk, but lost 1-0 as Seattle's Erik Bedard and two relievers combined on a two-hitter. Poor run support has plagued Wakefield this season regardless of the opponent, as the Red Sox have scored a total of three runs for him in his four losses.He did receive three runs of support Monday at Baltimore, where he left with a lead after holding the Orioles to two runs over seven innings. The Boston bullpen squandered the lead in the eighth, though, en route to a 6-3 defeat.

Batista gave up three runs and five hits in seven innings, although he did not record a decision in Seattle's 4-3 victory.

Sanchez is underdog here? OK, suits to me. In his last start against the Mets, Sanchez got into the trouble in the first inning but he cleared the mess. He threw seven innings and allowed six hits and two runs while strike-out eight and walk three. That was his fourth game in a row with just two runs allowed. In his only start against the Nationals last season, Sanchez allowed three runs and six hits over 5 1/3 innings played. He recorded loss with 6.23 ERA. In yesterdays game the Giants pounded the Nationals with 10 runs while taking only one.
The Nationals are struggling. In last ten games they were outscored 59-33. And Hill struggled in his last start against Arizona. In only four inning played he allowed seven hits and five runs. In last three starts he combined 12 runs, 20 hits in 14 innings played. Hill never faced the Giants.
I think there is a value on the Giants and I'll take it.

Ok, firstly I must say I base this pick mostly on pitching. I trust Laffey more than Rogers, despite Detroit pitcher is 20 years older. Firstly about Rogers - I can't rely on the pitcher who have strikeouts/walks ration under (20 strikeouts, 22 walks). He's starts at home, just like Laffey stats away can't be taken for granted - Rogers played just 3 games at home, Laffey - 2 games away. However we can compare AVG% against and batters hit .300 against Rogers, while Laffey hold lefties to just .111. And btw, Laffey had amazing 1.59 ERA just a week ago, but one bad outing against red-hot Chicago White Sox increased his ERA to 3.02. If he will be able to shake off his last start and pitch as he pitched in 6 of his 7 starts there will be mismatech in pitching tonight.

Now about 2 teams offence capabilities lately - Detroit starts to change their usuall line-up because nothing is working for them. Tigers hit .206 and score two runs or fewer five times during recently completed 3-6 road trip. They hoped to turn it around while playing at home but were shut down to 5 hits yesterday. Only one regular starter - Guillen hit above .200 in last 7 games. All other, like Cabrera, Ordonez, Polanco, Thames and Granderson hit amazing low ~.160 in last 6 games. On the contrary, Cleveland maybe starting to find their offence - Garco batting 12-for-23 (.522) with eight RBIs in his last five games. Casey Blake, who has three homers and 12 RBIs in his last seven games, had a two-run double Friday as the Indians improved to 4-4 on their 11-game road trip. Francisko is .333, Dellucci - .286 Why don't continue this against Rogers with his 1.73 WHIP (1.85 against right-handed)? GL
