Silva has a chance to break out of his slump against San Diego, which is tied with Washington for the NL's worst record and has lost six in a row after falling 5-2 to the Mariners on Friday night. He has a 5.56 ERA while not factoring in the decisions of his two career starts versus San Diego.

Baek, who went 9-9 with a 5.19 ERA in 24 career starts for the Mariners since 2004, is 0-2 with a 5.32 ERA in four starts since coming to San Diego. He allowed six runs and eight hits in 6 1-3 innings of a 7-5 loss to Detroit last Saturday. San Diego has lost 10 of 11 and dropped to 3-13 against AL teams this season.

He leads the AL in ERA among pitchers with at least 12 starts, and is 6-0 with a 1.52 ERA in six home starts. This will be his first start versus the Giants, though he is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA and one save in five relief appearances against them.

Lincecum hasn't received a decision in his last three starts - a stretch in which he has given up nine runs and 18 hits while striking out 20 in 19 innings. While he fanned eight his last time out, Lincecum also gave up five runs and six hits in five innings - his shortest start of the season - as the Giants lost 11-10 to Kansas City on Sunday.
