Duke tries for the ninth time to record his first road win of 2008 on Sunday. He allowed a run and six hits in five innings of a 6-5, 11-inning win at Cincinnati on Tuesday, leaving him 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in eight starts away from home this season. His last road win came May 27, 2007 against the Reds. Duke is 3-3 with a 4.36 ERA in nine starts against the
Brewers and 0-3 in five of those at Miller Park.

Even thought the Orioles have won each of Liz's last four starts, and the right-hander is 2-0 with a 6.52 ERA in that stretch, he continues to give up hits and runs to the oppositon. He gave up three runs and a career-high seven hits over six innings, but came away with a 7-5 home victory over Kansas City on Tuesday. He didn't earn a decision in his only appearance versus the Rangers, allowing six runs in 2 2-3 innings of Baltimore's 11-9 win at Texas on Sept. 22.

Shields turned in a strong outing Monday against Boston, retiring the first 10 batters and giving up two runs in 6 1-3 innings of a 5-4 victory. Shields has been dominant at home - compiling a 4-1 record and 2.08 ERA in nine starts, striking out 53 in 65 innings. He is 3-0 with a 2.57 ERA in three lifetime starts against the Royals.

Kansas City has lost six of its last eight games as Hochevar will try to bounce back from one of his worst starts. He was reached for six runs and six hits in six innings of a 7-5 defeat at Baltimore on Tuesday. Hochevar has yet to find consistency on the road, going 2-4 with a 5.70 ERA in eight starts and walking 25 in 47 1-3 innings.

The Marlins have lost three in a row and Hendrickson tries to avoid a sixth straight loss after giving up six runs and 10 hits in six innings of a 9-6 defeat to Washington on Tuesday. In his first season with Florida, Hendrickson is 0-5 with a 9.79 ERA in seven starts since beating San Francisco on May 25.

Teams collective batting average's are available on mlb.com, go to stats and then sortable team stats. CHC are top with .281 avg whilst unsurprisingly the Nationals are the worst with a combined .239 avg.
