CFL 8th July - Edmonton at Montreal

Edmonton (1-0) at Montreal (1-0)

I've noticed a lack of CFL coverage here so i thought i'd cut out a niche for myself while waiting for the College and NFL Seasons to start.

Montreal kicked off the new season by claiming a convincing 40-27 triumph over the Calgary Stampeders. It was a closer game then the score shows but their defense played much better against the pass than last years bottom ranking predicted they would, limiting the Calgary QB to less than 50 percent passing and just a single TD, while sacking him three times, intercepting him once and forcing a fumble.

Edmonton squeaked past the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a mere 2 points in a low scoring 19-17 affair. Although they won, they lost star running back Jesse Lumsden for what looks like a season ending injury.

I like Montreal here (-7.5) given the lack of an Edmonton running game and the improved defensive play from Montreal.
