Just Announced: Play Per Day

In light of the extremely long days last year, this year's event has been extended to a five day event. After a talk with Howard Lederer, Jack Effel has just announced that the plan is to play 18 levels today (nine hours), and 15 levels everyday after this (Jack also announced that is subject to change based on the amount of players remaining each day).

Level 4 - Stud is the game. Limits are 800/1600 with a 200 ante. Bring in of 200 and completion 800.

Diamonds are Barry's Best Friend

Barry Greenstein just won about a 10,000-chip pot when his board showed four diamonds, and he had been betting every street. Hasan Habib's upcards were A-2-3-4, and he must have made his straight, as he paid Barry off on the river. Barry pulled the from his downcards, and Hasan mucked

A Few More Players Took Up H.O.R.S.E. This Year

Last year there were 143 players in the H.O.R.S.E. Event. This year there are 148 players. Not a big increase, but at $50,000, it's nice to add to the prizepool

Maureen Feduniak Takes Down a Nice Pot

Just before the break, Maureen Feduniak made a big score against "Captain" Tom Franklin. The game was 7 card Stud and Maureen was showing . Franklin had exposed. Feduniak bet every street and Franklin called. Franklin put in a raise on the river and Feduniak made the call. Franklin showed in the hole for a straight, but that couldn't beat Feduniak's for the ace-high flush. With that pot, Feduniak sits at about 104,000 in chips.

Farha Scoops a Monster

Sammy Farha just took down the biggest pot we've seen yet when he showed down a 6 high straight and a wheel to scoop a pot that saw 4-way action to 7th street. Farha now sits comfortably with 155K.
