Virgin Festival Private Tourney Fri 11th April - The Punters Lounge

Hi all

Some of you know i run a poker league up in Hebburn, (6miles or 15mins from newcastle) and im thinking of setting up a game for any PLers who are gonna be in newcastle on the friday night before the virgin festival.

However with it being a CIU we have to be finished by 12am, which isnt a bad thing with 2 days of deepstack poker coming up!

The other option would be meeting up at Aspers and playing in the friday night £20+5 freezeout tourney which starts at 8pm

Im gonna run a poll to gauge interest, so if your interested and gonna be in Newcastle on the Friday night beforehand, vote and post up what you would prefer to do and ill get it sorted.

sounds good mate

wouldnt mind either really but the aspers game might be better,at least we can join the casino the night before and miss the bloddy great queue on saturday.
can you really see us having a hot chocolate and in bed by midnight

never gonna happen is it

i can see it now, 2 am and brians going through everybodys phonebooks seeing who we can wake up

in fact i might not bother getting a hotel .does aspers have sofas ,if so i think i might just stay there

Aspers has the comfiest sofas ever lol, and dosent shut til 6am

The Friday tourney usually attracts 100+ runners, but with the players coming up from around the country this could sell out the 200 mark....mine yesterday had 98 runners for the 33 freezeout and final table wasnt til 3am lol (had a full english at 3am, £4.50 and it was fooking lovely lol)

i was gonna get easyjet flights up from stanstead £23 each way so pretty good value .i can give you a lift there if you want

If anyone intends to play the aspers game, i would advise you to sign up for the 8pm game no later than 4pm on the day

It usually gets around 100-120 players anyway, and with a 200 capacity and the possibility of another 200 players up in newcastle its gonna sell out no problem

Do you know if you can sign up in advance over the phone or online? Not sure I'd get there until 7ish.
