last minute home game at BA's ......

after a few text messages and phone calls yesterday(sunday morning), I rustled up a home game for the evening. There's a few photos to come of interesting hands throughout the night but i'll just shove up the mug shots to start with

I need to rely on those who were there to comment on most of it as I was out of it
I do remember winning one game though

Absolute belter of a night (from what I remember )

All arranged at very late notice and Big thanks to Andy and D for their hospitality

The events are all a bit blurred to be honest as rather a lot of Stella was taken on board

I think I won the 1st game and came 2nd in the 2nd game

I know that it was a totally different gazza at the table with plenty of trash talking and bluffing , there was so much I cant remember even half of it, remember cracking Ben's AA with some crap when I hit 2 pair and then totally bluffing someone else off the pot when playing some complete crap like 57o and as the river was about to hit saying to who ever was in the pot (Mr V ?) " Your well in front,I've only got 1 out to win this hand" just as an ace appeared on the river and cue "jeez, there it is as well, you cant call now" and a bet from me produced a fold

Was all good fun but not sure I could be such a cnut when sober !!!!!!

Top curry for grub along with loads more beer and then a couple more games, more trash talking from me but to no avail and no further cash's, Did Robbie win both the last 2 ?????


The host's curse struck again with BA seemingly a bit pi$$ed but ok one moment and the next totally out of it
We started to clear up at the end when BA was asleep with his head on the table and as we pulled the table away BA pulls it back and goes straight back to sleep again (there is photograpic evidence as well so make sure that pic gets posted up mate )

Not got a clue what time we finished/left/arrived back at hotel but HUGE thanks to Sam and Andy for running us back to the hotel, opposite direction to where they lived and they still went out their way to make sure Robbie,Ben and myself all got home ok

Oh yeah!


After escaping our 'hot-hell' room we drove home Saturday night, got back home and went to bed for the day. We got up sometime Sunday afternoon and set off to go back to the Broadway for the remainder of the action.

A quick couple of phone calls and we're off to Andy's for a 'quiet game of cards'


Trash talking very quickly became the order of the night. First of all Gazza, who claimed he was trying a Mole approach but came across as a bit more like Jaded then Mrs BA given me the evils later on!

Must say thought it made it very hard to read what you had though Gazza.


I know that after going out of one of the games quite early I offered to deal (so that I didn't sit in front of the TV watching NFL ) and from then on I dealt some huge crippling hands with cruel rivers.

"Did you know I work as a dealer for Boss Media?"


We all agreed Mrs BA has what it takes to be a natural poker player after she'd played a couple of games as she soon started to curse the river. I'm pretty certain I dealt Ubermonkey pocket Aces 3 times and I'm not sure they held up (maybe once?).

The good food, good cards and plenty of drink ensured that a good time was had by all and before every game we checked the consciousness of our host by various means, but it didn't stop him going from being completely with it to semi conscious within 2 or 3 hands!


I'm afraid I missed BA making a pillow out of the table so if you can put that photo up to refresh my memory it would be helpful.


Gotta say I've also never seen anyone make the stairs seem quite so comfy as 'someone' did just before we left either. It looked so comfy when he was curled up on there I was tempted to join him myself.

We were just about to run Gazza and Uber back to there hotel but Tayspoon managed to ring the only cab company in the area who had no cabs (as in none at all on the road) so after a quick circuit we dropped everyone off with plenty of time and managed to get back home a whole hour earlier than we did the night before.

It was a really nice relaxed evening with wonderful company and I can't thank Mr and Mrs BA enough for their hospitality.

Big thank you to BA and Mrs BA for making us soooooooooo welcome. Great atmosphere and company was outstanding- despite Mrs BA and I being told off for holding up the 1st game as we were chatting in the lounge.

The food was spectacular and I had a big pat on the back for going back for a 3rd portion.

The drink was free flowing (to the point where once i had drank a third of my glass it was topping it up with BA saying that the bottle of spirits that he had opened for me had to be emptied! ) - I had a good try. but was sure that I was being nobbled!

Robbie did win the last 2 games and i'm sure that Gazza won 2 plus BA won 1 (Mrs BA did away with the winnings there ).

Gazza - for accidentally on purpose dropping money in the car for petrol. (bless ya).



Thanks again BA & Mrs BA - was a night to remember.
