Default Interforum Challenge Vfest.....DO YOU WANT TO PLAY

Had this email from Joe

PL Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge

Quote:
I’m really keen to run a inter forum challenge at the Virgin Poker Festival in Newcastle. I’m assuming that all of your forums will be both keen to take part and be there in enough numbers to put teams out. Below are my first thoughts on a structure but would be interested in your thoughts. Fitting it in around the main event obviously makes it a very late start but I’m guessing that’s okay for the nocturnal poker players plus the fact that everyone will have been ‘on it’ for a while will add to the fun even more.
  • 4 forums – AWOP, EMS, PL, blonde. You are the four forums who will have the biggest presence there. If another forum thinks they’ll have enough players to raise a team then I’ll happily let them join in too.
  • 8 players each.
  • 4 STTs of 8 with 2 players from each forum on each table.
  • Points awarded for finishing positions on each table.
  • Start at 1am on Saturday night (after main event finished) – each table should take 90 mins.
  • The Virgin Team will deal (to keep as many dealers on the other events and think it’ll make it fun too – and we’ll practice!!).
  • £10 buy in for each player (no juice as we’re dealing).
  • Payout each STTs as normal (£60, £25, £15) but winning team gets a $250 freeroll / added tourney for their forum on Virgin.
  • We’ll get a trophy done too.
  • Oh, and every player has to neck a shot when they get knocked out of course.

We're obviously going to have far more than 8 people who want to play in this - so we're just discussing options on how to decide the team (no rush - we have a few months )

Just a suggestion but would it be an idea for the first 8 Plers who go out of the main event (and want to play) get a seat. I am sure players who are in until 1am then have to play again the following day will not be bothered but players who go out early on may want another game later.

We should pick our strongest 8 live players, then have reserves, if any of the 1st 8 cannot play or do not want to play, we then move into the reserve list.

Although giving those that bust out of the tourney early a shot is a noble idea, the reallity is they'll probably be too pissed to do anything worthwhile!

Doesn't matter who it is they will all be strong players, nothing noble just practical and so what if they have had a few we are not playing for the town hall clock here

What's to say the strongest 8 are even going to Newcastle in March? Do you just then make it the best 8 players who can be arsed to go to Newcastle? Not reet fair is it?

i'm going up, but can't claim to be of the best 8 who'll be there, but I can always join Blonde or AWOP as I have contact with them.

As it doesnt start till 1.00am perhaps we should pick the eight players who are still standing. saying that i would think we would struggle to get a team together!
