Default Nade's console challenge - Failed

Not a conventional challenge - The challenge is to make enough money for a games console (PS3 or XBox360) by April 29th (Release date of GTAIV).

This follows on from a post i made in the GTAIV thread in tech and gaming where i said i should have done one as i'm in great form. Basically i've decided to ensure there's still enough money in my pkr account to feel comfortable playing at the 50/1 tables after i withdraw and creating the challenge gives me that extra incentive to keep on improving.

Target amount is around $1000.

Will play on the 50/1 cash tables, mainly 6 handed and keep daily updates on how it's going with how many hours played and profit/loss made.

I'm assuming April 29th? A year seems a long time to make $1000 at 0.50/1.00.

Which year are you hoping to complete this by? Unless its 2009 at the earliest, I'm afraid you've failed already mate.

Deliberate mistake

Curse of the challenge has struck already - 2nd hand in 77 raise from the button flop over pair - opponent flops two pair with 2,3 .

Lol and 2mins later don't even ask ! - $90 now wtf.

Ok, to be honest i hadn't planned on check calling the flop but remembered about my image being tight and so decided i had to take the chance by calling instead of c/r. If i'd been totally concentrating i'd have bet out at the flop. Feel a bit of a dimwit not implementing the sound advice in the strategy section of betting out, but with a bit of luck this proves that check calling can work On the river i was praying for a diamond thinking they were on flush draw but J came and i ofc have to make a value bet, totally not expecting the all in ! cha ching .

That table went dead after stacking too many - left +$160

Next big hand i hit not many hands after getting to the table

Table #7152639 - Maida Vale Hall 3

Seat 5: 27Nade - $101.65
Seat 6: Famine222 - $66.80
Moving Button to seat 6

DUBBRIAN posts big blind ($1)

27Nade bets $40
Famine222 calls $38.80 (all-in)
Returning $1.20 to 27Nade uncalled
27Nade shows [Jc Ah]
Famine222 shows [Kh Qd]
Dealing River [Ac]
Taking Rake of $3 from pot 1
27Nade has Full House, Aces over Jacks
27Nade wins $132.10 with: Full House, Aces over Jacks
Seat 1: sallllut - $45.90
Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $158.50
Seat 4: HCastorp - $126
Seat 5: 27Nade - $166.95
Seat 6: Famine222 - $0
End Of Hand #361032419

I really hated the min raise on the flop, it screamed uber strength in a straight or higher two pair but his call to my re-re-raise signalled i was ahead, but wasn't expecting KQ .

Later won this hand against other big stack:

Game Type: HOLD'EM
Limit Type: NO LIMIT
Table Type: RING
Money Type: REAL MONEY
Blinds are now $0.50/$1
Button is at seat 5
Seat 1: ma69nu - $37.70
Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $284.70

27Nade calls $1
XXTheFoxXX folds
ma69nu raises to $3

ma69nu bets $4
DUBBRIAN raises to $8
27Nade raises to $20

DUBBRIAN checks
27Nade bets $30

DUBBRIAN folds
Taking Rake of $3 from pot 1

Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $231.70
Seat 3: liosi - $104.75
Seat 5: 27Nade - $220.35
Seat 6: XXTheFoxXX - $61.18
End Of Hand #361054465

Made a stupid limp pre flop when not totally concentrating again and didn't want to call the $2 but reckoned i might as well follow it through with the big stack in the hand i had some good implied odds. Post flop i put them on a pair and open ended draw, tried to get some more on the river with a value bet but they gave up which was annoying as ever but was just happy to win .

So through adversity and embarrassment i somehow came through the day with $99 profit.

Ah but you cancelled the challenge already! Can't brag now!

I joke, I joke, well done good perserverance. 2 buy ins is f*** all at the end of the day variance wise, I only beat myself up a bit at my own mistakes not the old RNG screwin me.

I e-mailed them to warn them.

When you meet your target, the loss at the start will make this all the sweeter.

Good luck Nade.

Weird day at the tables, totally up and down all day long, swung from $100 down to $150 up, ended up $52 which i'll take.

Could have been a lot better if not for 2 terrible calls costing $60 and not getting paid when flopped a set, it turned out opponent had over pair pocket QQ They played it so passively QQ was the last hand i put them on but n/m. Also folded many hands i was v tempted to play and turns out would have won a lot of money.

Also thrown in there was some random person berating me for a full hour at a table for being the 'tightest player in the history of poker' Funny thing is that was before i'd even played a hand and left there after some friendly banter $30 up.

Basically not a standard day today and played tired tonight and that cost some money, not totally happy but any profit will do.

So 2 days gone and +$151

Haven't played yet today as wasn't feeling well.

Just wanted to post up screenshots to prove all wins/losses made since the start of the challenge. No trackers work on pkr so only thing i can use is the cash game history pages which aren't clear but they'll have to do.

Profit/Loss columns on the far right.

hahahaha ditto

Two things to add, start playing somewhere where tracker works, it will improve your game a lot. And also are you getting rakeback at PKR?

Gaf - Trust me, start of this year until about 3weeks ago was the worst run of my life or 'short term bad variance' and i'm still here battling away. Reason as i said before that i was uber stressed was because my pride was hurting more than anything, nothing to do with the money, i've lost more than $170 in one hand before, i know that's life .

Rob - Thinking about playing on FTP in the future which allows trackers. As for rake, yes i have rakeback on pkr - just got $165 worth of rakeback today .
This will be going towards the $1000 target but i'm not going to add it to the how much i'm in profit total.
