Can this type of thing be trusted... Im sure there would be no issues... tho thought id ask... or if someone has a different/better website with a similar deal that they have already dealt with... thanks...

These kinds of offers are basically done through affiliate sign ups.

If you complete the play through requirements then the site in question will get paid for you signing up with them, which is why they can afford to make these offers to you as inducements.

That said, we don't allow rival affiliate links on PL mate so I've removed the link.

LOL... thanks mate... so would you suggest using such a deal? rather than paying the $55... there would be no restrictions on the software would there (not 100% how PT works but sure its impossible to restrict it)...

Being brutally honest I don't think I would....


The way I see it is.

You're going to have play-through requirements to release the licence on this software in the same way as you'll have to release a bonus on a new site.

What I would do is find the best rakeback deal available out there at the sites I wanted to play at and pay for it that way.

Have to confess - this is the way I got PokerTracker ..... through a site that PL didn't have an affilliate link for ....

I don't know which site you linked initially, but I have no doubts about the legitimacy of the official offerings on the PT site......No reason to go through any 3rd parties....

As Mr V says though - they're not doing it for love, or out of generosity - they're doing it for your affiliate sign up (and they'll make you play x raked hands to make sure they get the money back)

Boss has extremely limited support in the official version ... More than half of hands (cash games only - tourneys not supported at all) fail to import - there are a number of fundamental errors in the Boss Hand Histories and PT are waiting for them to be fixed before sortting out their support for it ... in short, you cant really count on Boss coverage at the moment (though I suppose limited info may still be useful)

Hand histories on Boss are brand new, so noone else that I know of support it yet ... I imagine they'd be afflicted by the same issues in the HH as PT though.....

I've got the go ahead from the boss to offer it Quite simply, if you are going to sign up to a new poker room through a PL affiliate link, then PM me and we'll work out the deal for you If you play enough raked hands to "earn" PL the purchase price of the software, then PL will buy it for you

Obviously this can only apply to new sign ups and can only apply on those sites where we can track individuals raked hands.....
