Thanks for the help so far - I didn't realise many sites were linked together.

These TV tables look good - if I signed up with, say Bet 365, where your private games seem to be taking place - could I enter the Spin Palace TV Table MTT through Bet365, since they all seem to be linked together?

How many of these MTT's are available to all players on this Prima network and how many are exclusive to individual site?

Thanks again,

Hopefully will join in a private game, you lot all seem very friendly!

Bet365 and Spinpalace are both on the Prima network.

Private games set up on the Prima network can be accessed from any other site on the Prima Network.

HOWEVER, the $2k added Friday game is Spin Palace exclusive, so cannot be accessed through Bet365.

The majority of games are Network wide - however the high value added (per player) are usually site exclusive.

You can usually identify the site exclusive ones as they show as a different colour in the lobby.

Correct, after the flop count your outs and x them by 4
After the turn count your outs and x them by 2

Does not give you the precise odds, but a rough estimate for quick calculation.

BTW Hi all, been lurking for a while (cool forum), I am a Tournament Director in B&M cardrooms, so feel free to ask any questions.

I met Big Andy yesterday, sound fella!! And probably know a few of you from live cardrooms and other forums. Gotta start guessing who is who now

right ive started off playin STTs on betfair. It goes from 1.20 ones to 3.60 ones, because the level in between is just satelites. How many buyins should i have before i try the next level. Im up to around 10 from 10 original buy ins, i was thinking 20-25? Any ideas?

Depending on your ability you should look at 20 buy ins as a minimum if you're good and up to 50 buy ins if you're a beginner.

Could I get some feedback on poker literature?
I'm playing freerolls and the odd MTT and dabbling at the lowest end of cash games. Internet only.
I'm thinking a Harrington and a Slansky book?
Cheers.

Can't beat the harrington series for MTT's

On the cash side (no limit I presume) it's a bit trickier and nothing jumps out at me.... most of the books are specific for Limit and I think it's quite tricky to transfer to NL.....

If you wish to review books before buying them, got to www.thepokerbay.org - they have an ultimate litterature collection you can download (torrents) which seem to include a lot of titles.....

Have to agree on these sets of books, bit heavy going at times but stick with it. Even after you have read them they are excellent for reference.

Thaks guys. Picked up Harrington On Hold Em (Vol 1) yesterday and done a couple of chapters.
All this time I thought having position meant you got to bet first after the flop, seeing as the first to bet can often take the pot (or so it seemed on the tele).
This is the fourth edition and I couldn't see when it was first printed, I was expecting it to maybe be a little outdated but it all seems relevant so far.

Had a couple of Q's that I was hoping to get answered.

Have been playing a bit of texas holdem at the casino over here and a bit online and quite enjoying it.

Question 1) How does the Poker work on PL?
For example...I read valiant's post about playing freerolls to make money without actually using any so to speak...I am assuming you need some type of software from a specific Poker place...What do other PL members use to play Poker on PL?...What would I need to do to become a part of Poker community at PL?...What do I need to do to play freerolls?

Question 2) Pot Odds
I have just been reading on the net about Pot Odds and how to calculate them, and kind of understand them, but am not quite grasping it to the point where i could use them in a game...Can anybody give an example that would make it more clearer?

Poker appears to be a game that you could win more than you lose if you put the time in to learn the mechanics and used the percentages when they were in your favour, or simply be better than the average player.
