Default Playing TAg in cash games

I'm a TAg player mostly therefore I'm getting bored in cash games if I play only in one table. So I was into multitabling, but I lost lots of money some of them I posted here. I lost lots of hands like Negreanu in HSP so I'm in a big loss by the cash games. Also I can only play in Boss so PT is not available.

How should I play in this situation? Since I don't have info about the players, I can't play much of a creative poker. How much should I raise PF, how much should I bet my good hands and how good should they be to avoid bad beats? Should I make contiuation bets or semi-bluffs? stuff like that.. cheers..

Not strictly true - there is a Beta version of PT that "works" with Boss (though far less than 50% of the hands are coming in at present - but it's SOME data)

What level are you playing at? If it is the 5c/10c tables then I would say make no bluffs/semi-bluffs/continuation bets .... just play your cards!!!

I like to play in the region of 14% of hands .... it's not unusual for me to fold 20 or 30 consecutive hands!!

Yep I'm playing 5c/10c but I'm not getting paid enough I guess. Just when I think that the guy is paying my nuts off he shows me the real nuts. So I'm losing more than I'm winning.

The problem might be the bet sizes. My bet sizes are actually very good and balanced. I vary them also if I'm in a SNG which is most of the time. But here I saw in hand histories that overbetting the pot is also paying off nicely. So I decided to change my patterns and ended up against lots of folds. Maybe it was just because fishes didn't visit the tables that day I don't know. So my question is how much should I bet my monsters? What is the optimum size?

Also what if you have a hand like midpair, a draw, missed the board but you have the big slick? Do you call if the odds are right or do you only want to see the next card without money?

PT is now available for Boss Have a look at the PT forum, its a sticky.

I'm trying to play TAG on Boss 0.05/0.10. I try not to be at all "creative", but just play ABC poker. I hardly ever bluff (unless I have position against VERY few opponents who have just checked to me - even then, I like to have already established a good table image before doing so). At this level people just love to call (especially at weekends ) which makes it very difficult to run a bluff, or even a semi bluff, successfully. It also means that when you have the best hand, you'll often get paid in full

TBH I think this is probably your biggest problem. I only play one table at a time, and I pick up loads of information about my opponents. I know how many tables they're playing and whether they're also playing tournies or stt's and what they normally buy in for. I make notes on every single player I come up against - most of my notes have very little info, but the more I play against each player, the more my notes will increase.

I think PT will make our Tag play more visible now so I don't know if that's the good news mate .

so how much are you betting to get nice calls with big mistakes? I think that's my main problem. People respect me a lot.

I won't be able to multitable I guess because my bankroll is 50 dollars so I don't know how I will split it between three or four tables.

what's your alias by the way so I don't call your bets .

On low stakes such as 5/10 then yeh ABC poker is the way, always over bet your nuts as a lot will think they're winning with top pair for example then 'bang' you turn over trips and you're sorted.

My number one advice is to always bet when you have a hand, pre-flop, flop, turn, the lot because it's the main way of getting information in a hand to see if you're ahead or not. But, if you're playing amongst aggressive fish and hit the nuts just check and let them do all the work then you take their money. If you have a sick hand but are scared of draws i.e. flush and straight draws then over-bet the pot to try and push them out, the problem is on low stakes you can get called with anything.

what about TPTK? Should I overbet that too or be cautious? And how much should I overbet like two or three times the pot or just the pot?

I play TPTK hard, because I know that I'm more likely to be called by middle and bottom pairs and draws than by something beating me. I will "slow down" though if called.

A pot sized bet is probably good. I don't often bet bigger than pot sized!!
