Default Pacific Poker advice...

Howdy all...

I have been playing Pacific Poker online at 888.com because a few friends play there...Have been playing some cash games and some sit and goes with varying degrees of success all with play money on the Practice play thing.

I checked the Cashier's button to see how much I had made and there was an icon for a thing called Comp Points where i had earned around $40 in money for 4000 points based on whatever was happening as I played...These points can be converted but not sure what to, and how it all works.

Does anyone know what happens when you convert the points to $$$?

Do you have to open a money account or something and they credit you with the $$$.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanx to the people who suggested reading Harringtons Holdem Vol 1 as I believe it is one book that can really improve your game...More in the sense that it stops you losing money by playing better hands in position, and winning more when you enter a pot...Less betting and more winning so to speak...Can put you on the path to some consistent rewarding Poker...Been playing $1000 buy in 10 man tournaments recently which are Sit and Go and regularly finishing Top 1/2/3 after reading his book...Easier to have a crack when it's play money though

Cheers

Best advice with Pacific Poker is probably not to play there - hate the software (as do most I believe) - they also infest your machine with Casino on Net Spyware (run antispyware software and it will find it!!)

Don't know the specifics of what you are talking about - but my guess would be that it is bonus cash you have earnt - and that to actually get it, you need to play x raked hands per dollar (similar to the cash you are given as a deposit bonus at most sites) ... but I'm guessing....

Sounds like you should be ready to give up on the play money tables and play some "proper" poker - don't have to risk your own cash - but you should at least move up to playing some freerolls....

Where do you recommend to play some freerolls Gaf?

Pacific Poker is supposedly full of fish, which would make it a good reason to play there for $$$...The spyware doesn't really apeal to me though.

Try pokersatellites.com for a nightly £100 freeroll with about 50 entrants or on a sunday the virgin v-points freeroll can be very rewarding.

Your big problem will be I presume time zone? I'm guessing you generally want to play in your evening (so morning for us) ...... not a great deal around at that time that I am aware of to be honest ....... You might want to try some of the more Aussie focused web sites - they may have more on around your time zone ..... I think poker.com are Australian? After that I don't know who there is .......

Laddies have a few during the day (not great value, but better value than play money ;-) ) - I notice today that they had a $250 freeroll wih 1700 runners (and later a $250 freeroll with 2200 runners) - top 130 cash.....

Funnily enough I dug Poker.com up after a long time of not visiting.... Now Poker.com is a Poker resource site and the unique software I associated with them goes by the name of Carbon Poker.

It turns out that Beejay and Ads are approx. 11 hours in front of us, so its now 7 am on Sat. over there.
