Default Best advice?

What's the most useful single piece of poker advice you've picked up from PL (or elsewhere, if you must)?

I'm naturally very bad at paying attention to how other people are playing, and WASP once suggested trying to predict what other players would do before they acted. I find that doing this makes it far easier to pay attention.

Don't try and make complex plays to people that don't understand them.
In essence, know your audience and play to it.

That and if you can, make them angry. Once someone is pissed off at you, your 90% of the way to getting their money

Think the best advice i've heard generally is:

If your opponents hand was face up how would you act. i.e. if you're certain your opponent has a certain range of hands then you should act on that by getting most value, bluffing, folding etc.

The flip is how would your opponent act if they could see your hand, just think if you're making your hand very 'face up' then you should be aware of how to use this in hand by getting most value or just generally be wary.

thats about as good advice as there is
know your opponent but try to not let them know you

the only other thing i would say is a chip and a chair.
i've seen so many people win or cash very well after being almost out just by still playing as best they could and by getting a little luck
so never give up no matter how bad it seems.
