Just a quick glance, I'm interested on taking Gamba and Chiba -1. Urawa looks like a no bet game. Kofu also looking good since they are now playing at home where they perform best. Anyway will need to wait for line-up though since it affect the game a lot.

JEF United Chiba vs Omiya Ordija

JEF United is on fire last week by winning 4 - 0 against Kashima Antler away. Today they will be in full power as well without any new injury except long term one which shouldnt change anything. Moreover they will want to win this week since next week they will need to save player for Nabisco Cup in the 3rd of Nov which they will view more important than J-League itself, so I think within themself they will want to win this one against a poor Omiya so that next week if they lose when they field much weaker team that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Anyway moving to Omiya form, they are in a slump lately with no win in their last 5 matches with only 1 draw. Moreover, their away performance is 3W - 2D - 8L. Even though JEF is typically an away team, since JEF have a record of 4W-3D-6L at home, but I really think they can win this one since Omiya isn't any better than them and the Nabisco Cup factor I mentioned above.

Bet: JEF United -0.75 6/10 @ 1.8 bet365

Ventforet Kofu vs Nagoya GE

Kofu is a good team that came from division 2 and they are particulary strong at home with currently they are on 3 home win streak. However, today their opposition Nagoya have a good record against them. Nagoya won 5 - 1 in their J-League encounter earlier in the season, however it was in Nagoya home which can be understood since Kofu is bad when playing away.

In the other hand, I think a good run @ home has to come to an end and maybe today is the day. I can't see a team keep holding their home record especially a team coming from div2. So maybe today we will see some miracle again.

Squad wise, both team are playing with 4 - 3 - 3 which might be a good indication of over 2.5 goals since both will be playing offensively with that formation. Both will be also playing with near full strength with the exception of a few in both squad.

Bet: Nagoya GE 1/10 @ 3.25 betfair

first post here, normally prefer reading than posting... seen some really good information coming in Ligue 2 as well as the Australia league...anyway, agree with chiba as they're pretty good with quite a couple of national team players in their squad, coupled with shimizu, they probably look like an interesting double...but right now with nagoya match fist, i'll be going with the overs option, let's bring in the goals first!

No, I just watch livescore as well. However, there is a live stream for the match of Shimizu vs Niigata. I will post link later if it works for me.

overs dun look good now i'm not trusting the record of kofu banging/leaking goals in the second half although 5 outta their last 6 matches is under at halftime...

dw its not over yet vacheron 45 min is a lot.

Anyway another bet for today :

Kyoto PS vs Oita

Kyoto seems will be playing with few youngsters today based on the line-up they released. While Oita is playing with full strength. Past records also favour Oita with 3 of their encounter previously Oita never lose.

Sorry no time for a good write-up.

Bet : Oita -0.25 AH 4/10 @ 1.9 bet365

Match Preview :

Tulio's Reds swagger into big weekend
10/20/2006

Marcus Tulio Tanaka doesn't hesitate when asked what Saturday's showdown with Kawasaki Frontale means to him and the Urawa Reds.

"In my opinion, the next game is the most important of the season with regard to our championship ambitions," the Brazilian-born Reds defender said after training earlier this week. "We'll have to keep our heads, there'll be no time for daydreaming."

The Reds hold a five-point lead over champions Gamba Osaka at the top of the table and a seven-point lead over third-place Frontale, so an Urawa win this weekend would all but snuff out Kawasaki's title bid with six matches remaining in the season.

The key to victory, says the 25-year-old Tulio, is for the Reds to learn from the mistakes they made during last weekend's 2-1 home win over whipping boys Avispa Fukuoka. Tulio remains particularly incensed about the way Avispa's Mitsunori Yabuta was allowed to score a late consolation goal.

"That goal was a horrible mistake," Tulio said. "If we repeat it, we won't win the championship. It's as simple as that. We have to fix what went wrong there."

While it is true the Reds had their share of problems Sunday, not a lot else has gone wrong for Urawa at home this season. They are the only team not to have tasted defeat at home (12-1-0), they've outscored opponents 30-4 and they've kept nine clean sheets.

"We don't fear any opponent at home. We feel invincible there (thanks to the fans)," Tulio said. "It's all positive, but the risk is that we become overconfident. That's something we must not do, we can't fall into the trap of underestimating an opponent."

Much of the credit for the Reds' impeccable home record rests with Tulio, who commands the backline with unflinching composure while also finding the time to join the offense and pocket seven goals, making him the No. 2 marksman on the team behind Washington, the league's leading scorer.

Tulio is at the top of his game, scoring four times in the last five matches despite having to play through the pain of a hamstring injury.

"It's getting better, but in the second half the pain starts to creep in and I can't move around as smoothly," Tulio said of his injury. "But I am gradually feeling better and am nearing 100 percent."

Tulio, who became a naturalized Japanese citizen in 2003, has come a long way in the 2 1/2 years since joining the Reds from J2's Mito Hollyhock. He earned his first national-team call-up this year, is tipped to become Japan's next captain, and has been hailed by many, including Urawa manager Guido Buchwald, as the best defender in the country.

And now he and the Reds are so close to their first J1 title they can almost taste it.

"Our goal even before the season started was to win the championship," said Buchwald, who added that he tried unsuccessfully to get Tulio included in Zico's World Cup squad this summer. "It is a big game against Frontale this weekend, although I think it is bigger for Frontale than for us, because they must win to have a chance to get the championship. When we win, they will have no chance because we will be 10 points ahead."

"When" they win. Tulio may caution against overconfidence, but with an 18-game unbeaten streak at home stretching back to last season, you can't knock others in the organization for the added swagger in their steps.

Kyoto Purple Sanga (16) vs. Oita Trinita (8)

After an inspiring start, Oita's begun to resemble a hamsterless wheel. With only two wins in its last nine games, Oita will be thankful to be playing pushovers Sanga this weekend. Then again, they were probably thinking the same thing in Round 27 against Cerezo. That game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

JEF United Chiba (7) vs. Omiya Ardija (13)

JEF's dismantling of the Antlers last weekend came courtesy of three goals from national team midfielder Yuki Abe, whose 10 tallies this season leave him two shy of his 2005 total. Chiba has exorcised the demons at its new stadium with back-to-back wins and will welcome the opportunity to give Omiya, who beat JEF 4-2 in the season opener, a taste of its own medicine.

Shimizu S-Pulse (4) vs. Albirex Niigata (9)

Another team in need of a riding crop for its hamster is Shimizu, whose 1-2-2 record over the last five games isn't becoming of a fourth-place team.

Niigata, on the other hand, heads to Nihondaira Stadium riding a four-game unbeaten streak, which is largely the product of a shored-up defense. And who could blame Albirex for working on D after coughing up 19 goals in Rounds 19-23?

Avispa Fukuoka (17) vs. Jubilo Iwata (6)

Five wins out of six for Jubilo makes them one of the hottest teams in the league, as their steady ascent up the standings attests. Avispa welcomes back two of its three suspended players this weekend, but even that is unlikely to prevent the team's 15th loss of the season.

F.C. Tokyo (14) vs. Gamba Osaka (2)

Gamba has outshot its opponents 58-23 in its last three matches but been outscored 7-5. Ryuji Bando has gone off the boil and the team has hit the skids. He needs to find his scoring boots in a hurry or Gamba, too, will soon have to plant a parting smooch on the trophy.

Cerezo Osaka (18) vs. Sanfrecce Hiroshima (15)

Cerezo has been playing markedly improved soccer in recent weeks yet still languishes in last place. With Hiroshima a comfortable 10 points above the relegation/promotion playoff spot, the bottom three teams have no other alternative but to play for 16th spot to avoid relegation at the end of the season.

hmmm...it's a big clash btwn urawa & kawasaki, but i tend to think that urawa will not get the three points this time round, although from results they're surely in better form, it'll be really a let-down if kawasaki lets urawa run away with the lead...but personally i would recommend betting on such high profile games, if really to bet i'll side with kawasaki, but dun let my opinion sway u if u really think urawa can make it...alternatively i'll recommend jeff & shimizu, both at home and playing not so strong opponent, good chance for them...shimizu wanna keep the top three teams in their sight after two draws, while for jeff they're facing a really outta sort omiya team...good luck for ur bets!

and while typing all tis, kofu & nagoya are opening de floodgates...1 more to win!

It is very hard to say between Kawasaki and Urawa who will win. Both team will play with 3-5-2 today. Hasebe a NT Player for Urawa is out however his replacement Robson Ponte from Italy is also a decent one. While for Kawasaki DF Minowa isn't playing but I'm not sure either he is injured or suspended. Either than that, those two are full force in terms of their attacking power. With all core MF and FW featuring today for both teams.

However, Urawa need this win more than ever I guess since their title challenger Gamba will be facing Tokyo where they will likely to win the clash and if Urawa fail to win it, Gamba will get closer to them.

If I were to bet, maybe I will choose Urawa, their record against Kawasaki is very good. However, Urawa is on a streak at home and I'm afraid sometimes a streak that has been going on too long could be lost and maybe against an opposition with the like of Kawasaki this could be the day.

Another bet before the match starts in 15 min.

Fukuoka vs Iwata

Fukuoka isn't all that rubbish despite their low position in the league, they can be quite decent sometimes. However Iwata is in form and I dont think I can ignore that. Maeda is quite decent scoring 12 goals so far and his partner today will be Cullen. But I advise to keep stakes very low as Fukuoka is in desperate need to win this game to avoid relegation and they have few players from suspension back. While Iwata is fighting for nothing really and perhaps their only motivation to win this week is because they will need to save up player next week for the oncoming Nabisco Cup Final vs JEF United.

Bet: Iwata -0.5AH 2/10 @ 1.9 bet365
