At this time of the season national leagues in South America and Copa Libertadores are running at the same time. It's usual that teams involved in Copa Libertadores are playing weakened or reserve teams in national competition.

And when they do that - they do it with style

Also, there are few sides involved in national cup competition, so there is also possibility that something will pop up.

Sport Recife, Botafogo and Vasco da Gama are playing national cup semi finals on Wednesday, while Santos, Fluminense and Sao Paolo are playng Copa Libertadores on the same day.

It is funny how high the odds for Fluminense are vs a team branded to fight relegation. So is the Over, with Nautico being great to me on the Overs last season. Will see how my afternoon picks will go, if well - The Over deserves some interest at odds far too high...

Okay, info I could dig out so far.

Sao Paolo will field almost reserve team against Atletico Paranense, and there are 4 youth players in the team which will travel today. Sao Paolo had really tight schedule during last few weeks:

You dont have to be genius to figure out what is their priority at the moment - Copa Libertadores without any doubt.

Santos should field regulars in their team against Ipatinga tonight. Odds are now slashed from 1.60 to around 1.50, so I dont know is it worth a bet.

According to the news I found they are going for a win tonight, despite playing CL match on Wednesday, and they dont have any problems with injuries, so this one should be a home win.

Vasco da Gama yesterday played after Brazilian cup match and win,maybe Santos win too today

Atletico PR are rested - near 100 % - with high motivation - Valencia target - striker Pedro Oldoni is back in the team. SP near second 11 due to Libertadores - but still tough to beat - hence my pick:

Pre-season title favourites Palm-tree f'ed up last week and now they are expected to get back to winning ways straight away before a demanding home crowd. Ive went for Atletico PR Figueirense and Santos treble. Watching Atletico the now, there looking comfortable but a 2nd would make me relax. Santos im hearing its a full team one min and a reserve team next, i hope its a full team Figueirense i took really because of Coritiba missings. Sao Paulo deserved there goal so no moans from me. Doubt i would bet on Atletico again, 1st half they were ok but 2nd half very poor.

After an excellent day yesterday (Cruz win and Vasco over) - today has sucked! Sao Paolo B outplayed Atletico Paranaense for large periods - but to lose a lead 10 mins from time ALWAYS hurts. Half a loss there - and Goias/Atletico MG - too little too late....... Come on Palmeiras....

Well Palmeiras get in 2-1, not a great performance but a win all the same against 10 man Inter'. Brazilian football is definitely back - enjoyable weekend, with some future profit potential - with some overs popping up in unexpected games tonight. Bring on next week
