Default Div 2 Thoughts

Bristol City have certainly landed on their backsides since that 11 game winning run but can bounce back IMO with a solid Friday night home win over an ordinary Rushden outfit @ 1/2 (general)

This on paper looks a must win game for City, April's fixture list dosen't look too kind for Danny Wilson's men with Diamonds probably now their weakest looking opponents. Bristol were outfought in the sand at Stockport last week, while were maybe a tad unfortunate not to take at least 4 points from Sheff Wed and Wycombe previous.

Rushden IMO are at times a limited side, though Rodney Jack offers an injection of pace too much relies on the form of Onandi Lowe, if the big man is having an off day then Diamonds seems devoid of alternatives. Barry Hunter moves up to take the temporary managers hot seat following the departure of Brian Talbot, and he will be looking to improve on last Saturdays inept home defeat to Peterboro.

Rushden have returned pointless from their previous 7 trips to the top 8 clubs, despite Bristol's hiccups I see no major reason why that trend shouldn't continue.

FA

FA - friday night wobbles for me. Don't like them & results are somewhat strange. I see Rushden nicking a point here in a
2-2 thriller. City are under the cosh to get a result & R&D have just lost their mentor Talbot this week. Not a typical game for me so will plump for the draw.

Team news from my camp is that we have NO Goalie as both are currently out & also the Youth team keeper unfit to play. Ollie is desperately trying to sign one on loan for at least 3 games until Day comes back. We also have NO left back as Gino padula broke his toe on sat & is out for 4-6 weeks. We do not have another left back at the club !!! The good news is we have 5 strikers!! Going away to hartlepool will be tough but I think we are good for the draw dependant on the goalkeeping situation being resolved.

Port Vale v Brighton

Looking at the league table these are both similar sides.
Both sh1t hot at home
Both just sh1t away.

Brighton are winless in their last 7 matches on the road.
And are really struggling to find the net.

Vale have won 4 from the last 5 at home, although this is their first match at home for almost a month.

Home win please!!!!

FA, if it's not too much trouble, do you mind posting your "fair" odds for each selection? Asking because Bet365 often have lower prices, so would be helpful to know your recommended minimumprices.

Thanks a lot.

Quite fancy Luton to continue pushing on in div 2 actually. They have been performing really well lately it seems, and have a cracking home record that i have only just noticed, winning 11 from 16 in the league. 1.80 at Bet&win, or 1.73 available at quite a few places seems very reasonable against a side in Blackpool who have tailed off of late.

Grimsby look value at 8/5 BetFred.
They are good at home.
They a win after a couple of bad defeats.
Bournemouth are not great travellers.

Sheff weds could be worth a look this weekend as they come up against an out of sorts Barnsley

Div 2
12th Position Barnsley 49 points
13th position Sheff Weds 45 points

Last six matches
11th position Sheff weds won 3 lost 3 (unbeaten at home)
23rd position Barnsley Drawn 1 lost five

This is a must win game for the Weds if they are to make the Play-offs and they have players coming back from injury.
Robbie Mustoe, Kevin Pressman, Adam Proudlock and Kim Olsen all return for this match

Barnsley on the other hand have a few injury problems with Mark Stallard and Craig Ireland out through suspension while Antony Kay, Robbie Williams and Daniel Nardiello have all missed some training this week.

Dean Gorre, Garry Monk and Tony Gallimore are definitely out.

Sheff Weds home form has been quite good over the last few weeks, they have not lost at home since Boxing day

New Barnsley boss Paul hart has tried to shore up his leaky defence by bringing in young middlesbrough defender David Murphy on a months loan

The fact that Barnsley are still above Sheffield in the table has ensured that Wednesday can be backed at odds against. If the Bookies were going off the last six games they would probably be odds on.

Default Grimsby v Bournemouth

Grimsby have servere injury problems with seven first team regulars being unfit.

grimsbytown.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=909&p=2&stid=8341629

Bournemouth could be the value here although they haven't won away since October but all runs come to an end... sometime?

Good luck

I'm going to have a small punt on Wycombe to beat Notts County (2.58 Betfair). Wycombe are in desperate need of the points & although Notts County are in quite a good run at the moment, they've never won at Wycombe (8 games)
