Just for a bit of fun today I have the following bets on:

Trebles and 4-folds from the following

QPR v WBA - WBA to win 3-2 @ 25/1
Wolves v Plymouth - Wolves to win 3-0 @ 11/1
Arsenal v Everton - Result to be 1-1 @ 11/2
C Palace v Burnley - Burnley to win @ 5/1

50p trebles and a 50p 4-fold - if in the very, very etc unlikely chance it does all come in then I will have won over £6,000

That's a really big slip-up to see Burnley winning here today in crucial match for Crystal

Default Bet Of The Year!

TONIGHT:

STOKE: They know if WBA slip up, and they get all 3 points, they will be crowned Champions.

SOUTHAMPTON: Big match for the home side if they want to stay in Championship next year! Only the 3 points and some help from the other games will secure them in this league.

WOLVES: Must win to havee any chance of making the play offs while Plymouth are sitting 10th with no chance of making the play offs.

SHEFF WED:They are fighting for their lives in the championship. Norwich have nothing to play for.
WBA: A win being enough to make West Brom champions while QPR sit mid table also with nothing to play for

MY BET:

STOKE (dnb) @ HOME
SOUTHAMPTON (dnb) @ HOME
WOLVERHAMPTON (dnb) @ HOME
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY (dnb) @ HOME
WBA (dnb) @ AWAY
@ $5.12

$600 to win $3072

Season so far is from 4th August to date. Looking at my bet history spreadsheet (how sad am I?) I have placed just over 150 bets (average 15 per month, so 4 per week.)

Usually the make up of the bets is 1 or 2 lines on the Saturday, a Sunday line and a midweek line.

Average is, therefore about £70 per bet, on basic maths of £10.5k staked for 150 bets, but this is masked by the fact that I do sometimes go mad, if I am winning and place a £100 or £200 accumulator.

I probably bet £20-£40 accumulators and, if I am not winning, go back to perms (any 3, 4 or 5 from 5, etc)

I place most of my bets on here, but I don't really have time to write any sort of analysis on why I have picked them. I read a lot from the threads here and get the 6 match form from papers like Racing Post and Racing & Football Insider, but PL usually gives me a great insight to form and team news, bogey teams, trends, etc. It's the best site around.

Have made a promise to myself to start to put some time aside next season to write more analysis on my picks, rather than just posting up the bets on the weekend - no reasoning - threads. A lot of people will not like my style of betting accumulators, similar to Nastro's style, but it has seen me right for years, and a lot of people will not like the fact I don't do enough reasoning. That is fair enough, I understand that.

I would do the Top Tipster, but I just don't have the time to write down my analysis (or have the internet access - as I don't get this site at work - probably just as well.)

Anyway - all the best with your bets. I am away to look at my bets for the Chamionship today.

Thanks for in-sight.reason i ask is thought it might be interesting start a thread somewhere about peoples experiences this season. This is my first season betting on mainly football and a little tennis, although the mrs makes me bet on the talent tv shows now and again!
i haven't kept an in depth record of my bets but i know i'm up £270,not alot but i think i've learnt more about what not to do than what to do.My biggest mistake being getting greedy after a win, several times i won £100-£200 quid and within a few days at least halved it if not in some cases lost it all.The most frustrating this year being hitting a high correct prediction ratio but still losing cos of trebles/four folds.for example last week i had zenit 4/1 but mixed it with fiorentina @ 1.5!!Lost count amount of times i had trebles and the lowest odds selection messed me up.
I also got stung by terms and conditions 4 times, which i'll go into if thread opened.
Anyway, this wrong thread go into more detail but what you think, would you all be interested in sharing your mistakes, successes if a thread was started?

A Burnley side though who also have no pressure on their shoulders and have shown they have some capability to get results. Crystal Palace 'should' win today but there's been too many examples of teams that 'should' have won but didn't that make 5/1 for the game good odds. Add on to that the fact that it's only 50p trebles and an accumulator, total cost of £2.50 and I won £10 on the lotto last night and it's just a bit of fun that I hope comes off!

I think a thread on what worked and didn't work would be useful.

I generally avoid accies above 3 teams. If I pick 3 or more I try to put them in perms.

I think my betting on strong short priced teams is losing me money overall. My winning area tends to be teams that are odds against. I also think I am a bit to attached to homes.

I would like to know if people thought the DIV 2 aways figure was a fluke or will it repeat itself next year.

I agree betting after a good win is dangerous as you think you are invincable, rather than just lucky.

Atalanta host Livorno at the Stadio D’Azzurri stadium of Bergamo in a game which holds a lot of importance for the visitors, who cannot afford a defeat if they are to move away from bottom position.

The Bergamaschi have reached their season objective and the players’ heads are probably already thinking about the summer holidays.

For this reason, the Amaranti start as favourites in a game which sees the return of Orsi on the bench, following the sacking of Camolese due to a string of negative results.

Livorno’s situation is practically desperate, especially if they fail to grab all three points and their direct opponents manage to do so on Sunday.

Past Encounters

Not many head to heads for these two teams at the Stadio Azzurri D'Italia, with the first ever clash occurring in 2004 when both teams were playing in Serie B. In that occasion the game ended in a goalless draw.

After that, two other games were played at Bergamo, with both games ending in a win for Atalanta (1-0 and 5-1), but seeing today’s motivations, Livorno could register their first away win ever against their opponents.

FORM GUIDE

Atalanta
Palermo - Atalanta 0 - 0 27/04/2008 SERIE A
Atalanta - Juventus 0 - 4 20/04/2008 SERIE A
Napoli - Atalanta 2 - 0 13/04/2008 SERIE A
Atalanta - Inter Milan 0 - 2 06/04/2008 SERIE A
Milan - Atalanta 1 - 2 30/03/2008 SERIE A
Atalanta - Catania 0 - 0 22/03/2008 SERIE A

Livorno
Livorno - Milan 1 - 4 27/04/2008 SERIE A
Roma - Livorno 1 - 1 19/04/2008 SERIE A
Livorno - Cagliari 1 - 2 13/04/2008 SERIE A
Sampdoria - Livorno 2 - 0 06/04/2008 SERIE A
Livorno - Siena 0 - 0 30/03/2008 SERIE A
Udinese - Livorno 2 - 0 22/03/2008 SERIE A

TEAM NEWS

Atalanta
Various players unavailable for the Bergamaschi due to injuries: Costinha, Forsyth, Carrozzieri, Capelli and Langella, whereas De Ascentis is suspended. Floccari, Talamonti, Guarente, Rivalta, Tissone and Doni are one yellow card away from suspension.

Probable Formation (4-4-1-1): Coppola, Fissore, Talamonti, Manfredini, Bellini, Ferreira Pinto, Tissone, Guarente, Padoin, Doni, Floccari

Livorno
Only Vidigal and Volpe are injured for the Amaranti, whilst Galante and De Vezze are suspended. Pavan, A. Filippini, Pulzetti, Grandoni and Balleri must be careful not to be shown a yellow card in order to play in the next game.

Probable Formation (3-5-2): Amelia, Knezevic, Pavan, Grandoni, Balleri, Pulzetti, Bergvold, A. Filippini, Pasquale, Tavano, Rossini

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Doni (Atalanta)
Seems to have lost steam in recent weeks, but the veteran midfielder is still the Bergamaschi's most dangerous element thanks to his technique and excellent skills.

Tavano (Livorno)
The Amaranti need a win and this can only be achieved if Tavano returns to the form he had some months ago when he was frequently scoring goals and putting up some great performances.

PREDICTION

Atalanta have nothing to play for and with Livorno needing a win at all cost this game will most likely end in an away win.

Atalanta 0 - 1 Livorno

what u think ?

I just love these people who think "must win" teams are value and so do the bookies. One of the greats myths in football betting along with tne "new manager effect"

BTW not past-posting, clearly shown as a value bet on my ratings thread.
