Default Transfer Specials

I love these. Any thoughts?

Micah Richards looks good value to me for NOT leaving before the end of the transfer window. Mourinho has already scoffed at the prices and Chelsea, realistically are the only team that might buy him.

Anyone with a bit of good ol' inside info could make some free money.

I agree 6/4 does look decent for Richards to stay. City would want BIG money and as you say Mourinho has recently criticised the English transfer market:

...Mourinho insisted he would rather play his 55-year-old assistant Baltemar Brito - a former defender - than pay over the odds for a centre-back. "Just because of the smell that Chelsea needs a central defender, it has people thinking we are stupid . . . I would love an Aston Martin but if you ask me for £1m for an Aston Martin, I tell you, you are crazy because they cost £250,000." (BBC)

I reckon the key to Richards going to Chelsea in this window could be Shaun Wright-Phillips. It would appease the City fans if he returned in some exchange or loan swap. If its going to be a cash deal its likely to take place in the summer imo.

If Wright-Phillips moves to West Ham, Villa or elsewhere in the window (or Chelsea said he was not for sale) and the 6/4 on Richards staying was still available it would be a VERY good bet. At the moment, its decent value.

The others that standout for me are Lucas Neil to move 1.83 and Viduka to stay 1.65. I was under the impression Neil-Liverpool was a done deal, and I cant see Southgate selling Viduka, given his recent form as well as Boro's current league position.

And by the way, what a quality quote from Mourinho! Impossible to read it without hearing him say it in your head. Having said that, I cant agree with him. Chelsea have made their bed, paying ridiculous money to price other clubs out of the market, and seemingly buying players just so that their rivals cant (thinking of Wrigh-Phillips) so they cant complain now imo.

agreed, and the 8/13 on Barton looks good value too. Can't see anyone from a bigger club coming in for him and he seems as settled as Barton can be at the moment.

I think Richards to stay is a great bet. Jose is already looking elsewhere. I can see him going back for Richards in the summer.

Richards is still up at 6/4.

Another one I like is SWP to stay at 5/4. West Ham have got Smertin and Boa Morte, surely they can't sign another midfielder. Chelsea surely need him as cover with Robben and Cole injured.

Darren Bent has strangely disappeared off the page, after Pardews comments. Reading between the lines, I think he will go if a club stumps up £12m or so.

Ben Haim is evens to leave and I think he might be a Chelsea signing. Well under-rated, out of contract in the summer, and probably won't mind not being first choice at the Bridge. Allardyce said he would reject a bid, but really, Chelsea would have some leverage for once, if they wanted this deal.

8/13 for Lucas Neill to leave in January...

I'll have some of that, many clubs after him across Europe!

Did you know Richards was at Leeds' academy, but they said he wouldn't make it! Might have sorted out a few of our problems if he'd have stayed.
