Surely Shevchenko will be their Centre Forward? Unless Mourinho decides to start playing 2 up front..
thats what I heard he's going to start doing.
Im not touching Chelseas goal scorers as they tend to get spread out through out the team.

Bellamy- You'll be lucky to get 15 consecutive games out of him and reportedly he's going to be used as a left winner cutting in.

Its Henry for me im afraid as the stats dont lie.

I think Andy Johnson will bang a load in for Everton this season and there are a couple of stand out bets worth punting on:

Paddypower offer 28/1 1/4 odds 1st 4 places for Andy Johnson to be Top Premiership Goalscorer! (Corals only offer 14/1 do they know something?)

they also offer 15/2 again 1/4 odds 1st 4 places for Top English Goalscorer in the Premiership

2 standouts for me!

Regards,

Sport Football (Eng - Prem)
Event Top Goalscorer > English Premiership
Selection Andriy Shevchenko (Each-Way)
Strength 5/10
Date 31/05/2007
Bookmaker/Price Blue Square @ 6.00 (Back)
Reasoning Only a small number of players are expected to be challenging for the top goalscorer with Henry deservedly favourite. But this season, Shevchenko will line up in blue with a multi-million pound back-up fighting to deliver him quality balls to put away.

He will certainly challenge for the topspot here, but should he not manage top, he will not be far away. He has scored goals regularly through his career, both on the international and domestic scenes.

6.00 e/w represents good value as the top four places are paid at 1/4 the odds, so should Shevchenko fail to be topscorer but finish within the top 4, a small profit will still be returned.

Henry for me. Not only is he a quality player but he's guaranteed a place in Arsenals starting line up every time and to score goals you need to be playing games.

As for Sevchenko ( or whatever you call him ) I don't think he'll play as much as Henry. He didn't have a good world cup and at almost 30 in this league I think will find it difficult.

i see no value in henry - fav, yes, but the price is restrictive.

the ukranians had a good world cup for a nation not classed with the big boys, but this was built entirley on an ethic of 10 men behind the ball - not a tactic suited to scoring goals and not a tactic that will benefit shevchenko.

and as for his age, how many goals did Shearer get from age 30 onwards? Quality will ensure a few extra seasons more than just good strikers.

ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO

Shevchenko is a world class player and is deadly in front of goal. His
record is excellent, he has scored 170 goals in 283 appearances at club
level and 31 in 69 at International level. He has played at the very highest
level and I don't think he will have any problems adjusting to life in the
Premiership and will be an instant hit.

Shevchenko 5/10 e/w @ 6 willhill

CRAIG BELLAMY

Bellamy is a great player and is very quick and I think he could flourish at
Liverpool. He was excellent last season scoring 17 goals in 32 games for
Blackburn. I think Benitez will be able to get the best out of him.

Bellamy 2/10 e/w @ 21 willhill

LEROY LITA

I think Lita could be a surprise this season, I think he is a good player
and he has the class to succeed. He scored 11 goals last season but suffered
a bad injury, he has played a few times for the England Under 21's and is an
exciting prospect and a good finisher.

Lita 2/10 e/w @ 201 stan james

As a Watford fan I'm going to have to put the case forward for Marlon King @ 100/1. He will be our main outlet of goals and scored 22 last season. More than Lita, more than Johnson, more than anyone. Watching him every week I can tell you he is class.

I'd have to warn you off Johnson just because I dont think he's that good. Scores most of his goals from the penalty spot but apparently James Beattie will be their penalty taker.

As for Lita, I feel he may not be in the team due to the emergence of Kevin Doyle last season meaning they have Lita, Doyle and Kitson fighting it out for 2 up front.

Think best value is

Marlon King e/w @ 100/1 see above

Yakubu e/w @ 40/1 - this boy knows where the net is. No more Europe. No more Hasslebaink. He will play in the Premiership and only the Premiership week in week out. He has scored just under 1 every 2 games since he came to England with Pompey and I dont see why this shouldnt continue leaving him with 15+ goals

Ashton e/w @ 40/1 - he's a big guy but seems to score great goals with his feet and is an absolute powerhouse. Also gets into good positions as shown in the cup final. Scored with Norwich, scored with West Ham. Touted as the new Alan Shearer and Newcastles replacement for him too! Only problem could be that he tends to get injured a bit. Also, if he goes off the boil West Ham have Zamora, Harewood and Cole waiting to take his place if any of them arent in the team.

Milan Baros e/w @ 100/1 - this may seem a strange choice but today Martin O'Neill was announced as Villas new manager. He is an extremely good man manager and will be able to get the best out of this player. He showed class at Euro 2004 and in the WC Czech seemed lost without him. He still scored well into double figures last year even though he played mostly on his own up front. If O'Neill gets the best from him expect at least 15goals.

Leroy lita is a fine emerging talent on Readings books and will be banging in a few.He will have competition however from Dave Kitson and my personal bet which is Kevin Doyle.Clearly all this will depend on the overall success of the team and from what ive seen the squad is young ,hungry and excellently marshalled by Steve Coppell and should raise a number of eyebrows this term.
