DIVISION 3 ROUND-UP

KEEPER Michael Hankinson has boosted Montrose by declaring himself fit for today.

The Links Park club were hit by a goalkeeping crisis in midweek with Jim Butter and Hankinson injured.

Although former St Johnstone star Scott Findlay will sit on the bench for the visit of East Fife, who will be without Craig Johnston, Hankinson has recovered from a facial injury.

Cowdenbeath have snapped up former Airdrie United defender Darren Miller and he goes into the squad to visit Queen's Park who will be without the injured Danny Ferry and Derek Carcary.

East Stirling secretary Les Thomson yesterday denied Firs Park is being sold.Hesaid: 'Nothing has changed. There has been no planning permission granted so we will not be moving this season.'

Boss Dennis Newall is still waiting for clearance to play Norwegian Carl Thywissen at Peterhead. Jamie McQuilken is doubtful for favourites Gretna as they welcome Albion Rovers who will be unchanged from the side that shocked Raith Rovers last week. Rovers boss Kevin McAllister said: 'We have taken confidence from that and although Gretna have been big spenders we will be positive.'

Stenhousemuir are without the suspended Lee Collins while Tony Smith is struggling to meet Elgin, who will be without the suspended Jamie McKenzie and Martin Harty, at Ochilview.
@#%$ they aint got owt on the other leagues, ill go look for team news. Nice to see you Foolsgold even though youve never been away. Dumbarton v Ayr is a facinating clash imo and a toughie to predict too. If i remember rightly you know your Ayr but im a little worried about the goallie crisis for Dumbarton.

GOOD LUCK ONE AND ALL

Default Aberdeen 0 - 0 Rangers

Closely fought game, Lovenkrands shud've scored and also hit the bar. Good chance last minute for Rangers but cleared off the line. Not the greatest of starts to the season, treble with Gretna & Peterhead down already. Was going to put Leeds instead of Rangers, but yet again i made the correct choice.

Looks like East Stirling have not improved, infact they might even of got worse

Gretna won easily, don't think we will be seeing prices like 1.50 though at home for them much for the rest of the season though

Default queens park

I couldve won £369 today if Cowdenbeath held on. I understand its poor form to to talk about bets after events, but I really couldnt care less right now! Had £65.58 on Hamilton, Peterhead and the Cowdens.

Not a great start! Rangers were unlucky not to score on a few occasions but that doesn't hide the fact that they didn't really dominate Aberdeen in the way that Old Firm teams probably should. As per last season, Rangers were outfought by Aberdeen with Prso in particular showing the sort of attitude that won't endear him to his support.

Doubt I'll be parting with my money on Rangers until I see a bit more to make me convinced of them.

Dunfermline were 1-0 up against Utd but let it slip when Utd finally made something of the possession they enjoyed in certain spells. They probably had the better of the first half but couldn't get the final ball quite right. Dunfermline created a couple of chances but the pace and guile just wasn't there. Early evidence that Stevie Crawford and Charlie Miller will be heavily missed perhaps.

United could be a side that will do well at home again this season. Certainly one I'll keep an eye on in a league where the bookies tend to ignore strong home/away records of 'other' teams when pricing up.

Record for this season:-

Bets : 7
Total Staked : 23.5 pts
Strike Rate : 28.57%
Profit/Loss : -11.96 pts

I'm gonna follow my instinct and not follow my instict anymore. Stakes are small but betting 7 losers out of 7 selections is bad. I should employ more thought and less fevour (is that a word?)

Gretna look the ticket though eh? ffs Well done those on them and Peterhead etc. I'm a muppet sometimes
