Is there any point in a small single or do they have no chance?
IMO Hearts are in a bit of strife at the moment. They have lost a few players and manager and are not coping. They scrapped through against Dundee Utd (their first win since Dec 11th), held on for a draw against Hibs and drew with Partick and were held by ICT. These are games that Hearts would normaly win in years gone by. Partick seem to have turned a corner with Dick Campbell's appointment. Having said all that, Hearts should win but I personally wouldn't touch this game.

Not sure if that helps you guys - but it helped me !!!!!

All things considered this will be a no bet for me, why bet on this match with all the good looking bets coming our way on saturday?

Hi effigy,

Just to confuse you a little more I'm actually on Partick since Monday night.
I fancy Hearts are struggling to get any momentum and behind the scenes, the place is in turmoil. seems like everybody's wondering "what's next" or "who's next for Leicester!"? As I mentioned on Monday, Partick have got their act together recently and I think now is the time, if ever!, for a shock.

I'm not saying that Hearts won't win but my advance pricing had Partick @ 11/2 or so... Anything higher is value to me and that's the basis i'm using for backing them. I got 9/1 on them (the equvillent of Komp's BRECHIN bet which takes a whole season to be paid out ) for one match

Just a thought for those of you backing Partick tonight that the HT/FT at Skybet is 25/1. Ridiculous odds IMO and well worthy of a few quid. Some of the correct score markets for a narrow Partick win may also be of interest.

If Partick win the night, there will be a few happy faces in here the morn !!

Not sure about the game tonight to be honest but Partick are way to big a price.

Thanks for that ColMar,

25/1 is exceptionally well priced and I may just add a small interest in it. nothing stopping Partick getting an early goal and shutting up shop, after all it is a cup game so this would be entirely unheard of.....

the views on Partick sound a bit like the ones we heard on Burnley last night! I know that Britpete is right, there is a lot more choice on Saturday, but to me, Hearts look like a reasonable laying opportunity. Consensus seems to be that Partick are over-priced which equates to finding yourself in a casino where they are offering you greater than evens for black or red....of course you know that you can still lose, but you know it's value. Had a look at the team news on bbc sport and apologies if this has been posted already - can anyone tell us the significance of the possible absences/comebacks?
Michael Stewart has recovered from a groin strain but is lacking in fitness, while Patrick Kisnorbo will have a scan on his troublesome knee injury.

On-loan striker Lee Miller is ineligible having failed to sign before the Scottish Cup deadline.

Partick will be without Jamie Mitchell, who has a rib injury. But Thistle manager Dick Campbell is boosted by the return of Grant Murray, who missed Saturday's league win over Queen of the South.

I have to say now that the HT/FT has got me interested, if Partick do win I expect it would be a first half goal then hold on. 25/1 has got to be worth a couple of quid ( and I literally mean a couple! ). The reason this originally got me interested was that Hearts don't seem to have got over Levein leaving, and as you say quite rightly Frisky, if there's a time for a shock then this is the time, Hearts seem on a downturn while Partick seem to be getting their act together, I was gonna leave this but you've got me interested again

I think Partick are a cracking price tonight at Hearts. Maybe see if I can get an Asian handicap price. Dick Campbell was famed for his cup shocks while at Brechin so odds of 9/1 could be worth a look. What with Hearts not on the best of runs, however when did non-old frim last beat them at Tynecastle?

Thistle should not be 10/1 as they are at the moment (Skybet etc). We have as people have already mentioned turned a bit of a corner under Dick 'Uncle Fester' Campbell and we are now getting points in games we would have lost a few weeks ago. However, Hearts are a good side and missed Hartley badly in the 1st game, he is now back. Thistle will fight for everything tonight and there wont be too much between the sides. The only player out is Jamie Mitchell and i have to say that he has been misfiring for a while now so wont be greatly missed. Fulton or Andy Ross could replace Mitchell.

Jags should line up:
Arthur

Anis Murray Madaschi Milne

(A)Gibson Fulton/Ross? Fleming Strachan

One Ramon

I expect a tight game, maybe even extra time, but i will not be having a large bet.

Prediction: Hearts 1 Thistle 0 (after extra time!!!)

Okay.... i'm away to stick a wad on the draw at 5/1!!!

Mon the Jags!

Very bad luck everyone who was on Partick. 89th min is particularly painful...but it was a good call and the 10-1 was obviously way over
Hearts 2-1 Partick Thistle

Armand One (left) opened the scoring for Thistle

Dennis Wyness struck with a minute remaining to book a fourth-round meeting with Kilmarnock for Hearts.

well,

O.k Partick lost but not in the form of a 9/1 shot i suppose. Bad night for me with 4 from 4 losing but at least I'm not too disheartened by it all

Anyone see the game ?
any verdicts on how Thistle played ?

Speaking to one or two folk today, they didn't sound impressed by either side.

Hearts the better team, but not by much, and looking a bit clueless upfront, while Partick weren't a particularly good footballing side, and only looking likely to score from corners.

Hopefully find out more before the weekend games, but it certainly doesnt sound like the gulf in class that 9/1( and 1/4) would suggest.
