Get your money on dundee utd. Well good value. The bookies have shortened the odds for them far too much here, probably because gretna have been doing so well in their division that 10/1 (which is closer to gretnas chances here)would attract far too many punters for the bookies liking. (Adding to this dundee are at full strength and couldn't stomach any kind of upset here in this game)

Gretna/Dundee Utd - For the third time i probably wont get involved in this one. Gretna givng free tickets for all that turn up though. check first but i dont thik you need an old ticket. Dunfermline v East Fife - Est Fife 1 defeat in 10 and you'll know i was quite into the 10/1 on them on offer on saturday but i aint into it here. could be though if any of the Par boys see it as a posiblility. To me this is an ideal game for Danny Cash's correct score thingy as East Fife like to defend like hell and kill games. Cant see them scoring really as they dont usually especially when their playeing better sides. They frustrate the Parrs though but i can see dunfermline getting just enough to win it. Interesting possibly. Ross will be up for revenge after Saturday after from what ive read being well on top (might be a bit exagerated) v Airdrie in the league Sat. They are better away though which is muddling me a bit over this and also Ross dealt very well with Gow up front.Ross have had 2 great games on the bounce and Airdrie .had done nothing wrong in their last 8 or 9 even in defeat. Hard one to call. I hate this tie. I backed Ayr to do them last time and Ayr went in front 3 times but Stranraer had the better of the exchanges second half. Ayr totally dominated v them a week earlier in the league and should have been 4 up ht only for Stranraer to mug them with a undeserved 1-0 win. Ayr since have went on to get a right doing by Alloa saturday 5-1 and i thought ayr were value at 2/1 but maybe not. Aiunt read reports. Stranraer though have a few players back etc and i could have wee look at this but its a hard one. I dont like Stranraer at home either last 2 or 3 months and its considered a derby game too. I dunno but i'll have a look as it should be a cracker. Ayr ht stranraer FT? Ayr are becoming very unpedictable. Anyone see anything in the above?

Hello and wecome to Pl Banner. Never got a chance to greet you on the weekend Scots thread as i was all over the place with this an that. I gotta disagree Banner on the nearer 10/1 quote but school of thoughts wouldnt. I'd rate Gretna about half that but think Dundee Utd should win if they are competant and stick to the task at hand. Sadly their just human and it will be a cold wet night with 11 v 11 ft footballers all wanting to win. I dont know if i could take too much of a chance on that tomorrow if the game goes ahead. I aint gonna get involved truth be told but i'm sure there will be a few that will.

| Thinking very hard of having a Dunfermline and Dundee United double to reasonable stakes, but not 100%. Will sleep on it.

Hi all, Cant see past Utd either! Been unlucky in the last two games, could have easily be going into this with wins over Rangers and Hearts! So I fancy them heavily! The players are finally responding, they are easily a top half table team. Dunno whats going wrong! Gretna are full of first and second division players, hence the reason they are doing so well! I agree with the big man that its 11vs11 probably with a bit of snow, so anything could happen. To be on the safe side I think I will heavily Lay Gretna not to win, then at least the draw is covered! By heavily I mean £1.50 instead of my usual £1. Good luck all! Fitz

Hello and welcome to the PL Iain. Just thought i'd say hello and reiterate that i do think Dundee Utd will win but dont think Gretna are the 10/1 shots Banner suggests. All about opinions though Banner and its good to have them. The moe i think of it the more i am tempted by Utd as Gretna have not played that convincingly for the past 3 or 4 games and i was suprised by Utd at the weekend. infact maybe Gretna are starting to creep towards Banners estimations. Shit its been like this the last twice with me not fancying Dundee odds on away but when i read all the views i start looking at the 4/6 and start considering. OK can anyone convince me singly or collectivly into back Utd tommorrow as i did ok today and could be talkied into an investment.

Komp, first time around I was leaning towards Dundee Utd. BIG time, then it was cancelled, and, in the meantime EF did their stuff against PL opposition, and, I was put of of backing Dundee utd. However, I am now, beginning to get a little more confidence about United, I really do want to back them, but, I desperately need some more opinions before I put my money down.

Adding to the gretna debate, there is just too much of a gulf in class here to see past anything other than a utd win, even with a force 9 gale i think theyd shade it. I would compare the gulf to that of the one between man u and exeter, the difference being dundee wont underestimate their opposition or play a reserve team. The fact that its away for dundee makes no difference in games like this either. Fifty quid says my money is where my mouth is for this one.

Hey there. Pars fan here and I have to say I'm not too confident about Tuesday. We have been very poor this season after losing Crawford and Brewster, and as a result, very lightweight upfront with very few goals. Our problems stem from having being put out of the UEFA Cup. After that game our seaon has dipped with very few highlights. The plastic pitch could be our saviour here. Also if things don't happen early on, the Pars faithful are notorious for getting on the players backs. 20/1 sounds a good price for a small wager on EF. Good luck.

Agree completely about what everyone saying about a United victory, i've felt united have completely underachieved this season. They have maybe the best squad outside the old firm and i think their form in the league lately has shown they have the ability to compete in big games ie the 1-1 draw with rangers, sautrdays 3-2 defeat away at hearts! I wouldnt agree with the gulf in class like stated - Gretna's players like bingham, deacher etc could easily cut it in 1st division and wouldnt look out of touch in someone like dundee or caleys team i dont think so dont underestimate them too much! Swooperman - i wouldnt waste your money on a double, forget dunfermline, at 1/6 it really isnt worth it, i mean you need to have £300 on just to win 50 from that. Yeah they should win but at them odds i dont think its worth the chance! ps loving your signature thing ![]()

| hi gents, I don't normally post on this thread and some of you may recognise my mug from else where on the board but I need info on a game not mentioned here yet.. Hearts vs PARTICK Does anybody agree with my notion that at 9/1 Partick represent a little value or will there be a gap superiority evident between the teams. Partick are not a realiable team by any means but have started getting a few results while Hearts stutter a Little of late. I'm strongly toying with the idea of x2 in this and need your help....!!!!!

| I havn't looked at the game in any detail mate. But my first impressions are that there is no way Partick will get anything from the game. Hearts are a decent team, Partick aren't. As I said, I do not know a great deal about the game, all I know is that I won't be touching it. If I was pushed, I would have to go with Hearts.

By the way. This game is in danger of being called off yet AGAIN. There is snow forecast for the borders later on in the day. Just a word of warning.

The Dundee United game has caused a lot of agonising: I tipped United when the game was originally scheduled, but after all the comments of Komp, Britpete and Alex etc, my confidence isn't as strong. I posted a newspaper report showing that utd had signed a Scottish international forward and generally good team news then, but I don't know if the team news has changed dramatically since. Have to say I can feel my wee sphincter start to pucker at the prospect of a blank teletext screen come 9. o' clock. With all of the doubt surrounding this and the other cup games, is this a night for the X2 or layers?

Well the Gretna game's been cancelled twice now and on both of those occassions I was going to back Dundee United. The third time (if it goes ahead) I'm just going to sit this one out. Yeah, I do think Dundee Utd should win but I'm just not comfortable with it anymore. In fact I'm going to sit out all of the midweek games and focus on the weekend fixtures.

My advice is to sit it out. I hate betting on cup games no matter who it is and how much of a certainty. The underdogs always seem to find extra and can often cause an upset.

I know what you mean about the cancellations, but to be honest thats why I think dundee will want to win it more. They have had to build them up for the game twice now for it be cancelled on them, and they are not going to want to have to play the game again. (as the only result I see for gretna is a draw) Also Gretna havent been looking 'as good' as they were a few weeks back, so I think there is a bit of value in the price. I also think that due to the bad conditions there might be a low scoring game, som perhaps a small bet on under2.5? Sco
