league 3 remains my value division in british football - IMO the most predictable around,

When / if cowdenbeath win their games in hand the league is basically the top three then the rest, this week has the top 3 at a tasty 7/1 treble - with no team news at present it jumps out at me.

hearts v rangers is possibly a £10 million match with regard to champions league qualification - Im no doubting mcleish will have something sorted out financially personally with murray ( rangers owner ) to give in-coming manager le guen top european football next season, this is a no bet game IMO, too much at stake, if pushed would go for rangers but not a betting proposition unless you have a particular interest.

As a regular backer of gretna, I avoided them last week as I wasnt confident of them beating morton, the same remains this week, partick having won tonight, are locked in a battle for a play-off spot and will have a full house - no bet. Peterhead who are strong at home at around even money is a nice price, will fight it out with partick, and playing a stirling team that can be inconsistent - will be backed somewhere this weekend.

Morton at alloa is a safe away for me, just beat gretna last week who beating just about anyone must give sky-high confidence to the 2nd-placed club.

6/4 doub of kilmarnock and aberdeen should be simple enough in the spl.

Agree with Nastro on the Dons & Killie double, it looks the bet of the weekend in Scotland this week.
If Morton can win away at the mighty Gretna then surely logic dictates they can win at bottom of the table Alloa, well you'd like to think so!!
Game I could be interested in is the Div 1 local derby between Queen of the South and Stranraer.
QOS lost in the 90th min away to St Mirren last week to suffer their first defeat in 6 games. Stranraer are the side above them and if they win they will go above them and move out of the relegation places. All their games this season have been tight affairs but QOS's form has picked up with McCall in charge and Stranraer have struggled away from home with just 1 win all season and have gone 6 games without a win since beating QOS at home 1-0.

dumfries man, ( qots home town) proven record at higher leagues and now wanting to do well with his home town team, I expected results immediately. more the reason to hammer home the self-importance of a home win when most of stranraers players are glaswegians - 6/5 is looking value, never noticed this at 1st glances.

Reasoning East Stirling are the bottom club in the league but Queen's Park form is dire at present. I fancy a small wager on Stirling to defeat them at home.

SPL OVERS AND UNDERS 2.5 GOALS, Saturday 18th

ABERDEEN V LIVINGSTON
Aberdeen last 5 home: 1-0, 2-0, 2-2 0-0, 0-0 Overs 6, Unders 8, 1-1 1, 0-0 3
Livi last 5 away: 1-3, 0-7, 1-4, 0-3, 1-2, Overs 10, Unders 5, 1-1 1, 0-0 1

Aberdeen erratic season continues after good unexpected wins recent wins against Hearts and Rangers they go and lose at Dunfermline when they are expected to win easily. As for Livingston even a change of manager hasn’t helped them put an end to a losing sequence of 10 games which currently is the best or should I say the worst in Europe, they have only won once away the whole season ironically at Dunfermline. But Aberdeen are steady at home having only lost 3 games but the problem is that they have drawn more than have won, infact they have only beaten Dundee Utd, Falkirk twice and Rangers twice at home this season. The previous 2 games this season have ended 0-0 and I wouldn’t be too surprised to see the same again, out of the previous 11 games between them at Pittodrie only 4 have gone over and Livi won 3 of them but as I can’t see Livi winning this one I’d predict a narrow win for Aberdeen but low on goals.

Under

KILMARNOCK V FALKIRK
Killie last 5 home: 1-0, 3-1, 2-0, 1-0, 2-2, Overs 10, Unders 5, 1-1 1, 0-0 0
Falkirk last 5 away: 1-3, 1-2, 1-0, 1-2, 0-5, Overs 10, Unders 5, 1-1 1, 0-0 0

Kilmarnock are on a good run at the moment having won 4 in a row and 5 out of 6 and should be boosted by the return of striker Gary Wales, although all Falkirk’s best form has been on the road they have lost 4 out of the last 5 and the sale of Daryll Duffy really seems to have affected them but they did earn a draw in their previous meeting at Rugby Park this season. In fact Falkirk haven’t won a game at Killie since 1925 and I can’t see that record being broken today, so obviously I fancy a Killie win. As for the goals I expect my choice team Killie to do me proud again and ensure that it’s an over infact both teams have scored in both games so far this season and I would expect this to continue today.

Over

MOTHERWELL V HIBS
Motherwell last 5 home: 3-1, 2-0, 1-3, 0-1, 3-1 Overs 8, Unders 6, 1-1 1, 0-0 0
Hibs last 5 away: 0-2, 0-0, 1-4, 2-2, 0-2, Overs 8, Unders 6, 1-1 0, 0-0 1

Motherwell are pretty much up and down this season as 3 wins, 3 defeats and 2 draws in their last 8 home games proves, so are we looking at a draw here just to keep the balance right, I wouldn’t be surprised? But apart from their cup win at Ibrox Hibs recent away from has been poor and they have gone 7 games without a win, but prior to that they had won 6 in a row. But today could be day that Hibs get back on track, they have won the previous 2 games this season and have gone 6 games since losing at Fir Park. As for goals, the stats look good with 9 out of the last 12 going over and I fancy this will continue today with both teams getting on the scoresheet.

Over, cover 1-1

Bets for today:

Kilmarnock v Falkirk Over

Motherwell v Hibs Over, cover 1-1

Good Luck

GM

Nice weekend in Scotland this week. Dons win comfortably (why couldn't they play like this earlier in the season!?) and Killie play well and get their reward with a fairly late winner.
Great win for the Queen of the South with Steve Bowey netting just after the break, hopefully the guys can pull clear of trouble now and with McCall working wonders right now I reckon they can avoid the relegation play off spot.

Given what's at stake in the Hearts v Rangers match today (champs league qualification), I would expect a volatile game with referee Craig Thomson dishing out plenty cards. Most of the bookies have accordingly priced it up at little more than even money for +55 pts.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is at least one red card today and will therefore have a medium size punt with sporting odds who offer a generous 3.00 for +60 pts.

In the Celtic v Dunfermline CIS Cup Final, surely the Bhoys will have enough firepower and motivation to go for this straight from the off. Rather than plunging on a Celtic/Celtic double result at little more than 1.50, bet365 offer a standout 2.10 for Celtic to win both halves. For a team looking to put on a display in memory of Jinky, I can't see them dropping the pace in the second half and therefore see this as a great bet. Maximum stakes for me on this one.

5 Pts Hearts/Gers bookings +60, 3.00 at SO
10 Pts Celtic to win both halves, 2.10 at bet365

ReasoningHearts is currently six points in front of Glasgow Rangers and now, everyone in Hearts espects them to secure place in next season's Champions League. Just like their owner Vladimir Romanov said: " The goal is very clear- Champions League." Hearts started this season very well, they were battling with Celtic for the first spot, but now they will have to battle with Rangers to hold down the second position. Hearts is in good form after some setbacks against Kilmarnock and Aberdeen. They won against Motherwell 3-0 at home and Livingston 3-2 away. In last round they drew at Inverness 0-0. Glasgow Rangers on the other hand started this season pretty poor but worked out a little and are on the third position. Well, they still didn't secure this spot. Glasgow has three wins in a row- Kilmarnock, Falkirk and Hibernian. But, before these wins they showed they vulnerability against Aberdeen and Celtic. Hearts and Glasgow Rangers played two matches this season, and both ended with a 1-0 win for the hosts. Today, I expect something the same. Hearts has really strong record at home while Rangers are just 5-4-5 away. Hearts should have no selection problems for this match. midfielder Rudi Skacel and striker Edgaras Jankauskas to recover well from ankle and hamstring injuries respectively.
And captain Steven Pressley is also hoping to feature after missing the club's last two matches a virus. On the other side, Rangers's manager Alex McLeish has only Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan missing from his squad for the crucial match at Tynecastle.
