Looks a poor card this week with most games in each division having a good chance of going either way.

In the first and Gretna will win again against Airdrie but the price is crap and I might way to see the Asian Handicap to see if it is worth getting involved. Gretna got back on track by hammering Partick 6-0 last week while Airdrie have lost the last 2 games 1-0 at St Johnstone and Dundee but do seem to be putting a more positive performance in they games. Fellow strugglers Queen of the South travel to Hamilton with Queens manager Ian McCall slating his players in the press for last weeks 2-0 loss at home to Clyde, Clyde just had to turn up to win that won. This is the kind of game that Billy Reid's Hamilton do well in and I can see a similar score to their 1-0 win last week at Ross County. Ross County v Partick and Clyde v Livi are not ones I would get involved in but St Johnstone may be worth a look away at Dundee although it is somewhat of a derby and Dundee have won the last several games.

In the second and only Peterhead at home to Forfar looks of interest. Forfar are trying to get the game postponed as they are looking at missing up to 9 or 10 players from a squad of 19 and will have to draft in a few trialists as they have no reserve or under 19 team. Peterhead have struggled all season and have had some injuries to key players they beat Stranraer 5-2 in their last home game but lost 2-0 at Stirling last week. The price on Morton also looks poor, Brechin should finish in a play off place easily this season and have already defeated Morton in the cup. Morton also played mid-week against Clyde losing 3-1.

In the third and another tough card it has been dog eat dog in the third so far and there is little to seperate the top 5 or 6 teams. Arbroath will have too much for Elgin, although Elgin do have a good record against Arbroath. Queens Park also look a good price against East Stirling. East Stirling have vastly improved on recent seasons and will cause a shock or 2 this season but they are still second bottom while Queens Park will be in the hunt for a play off place.

Possible Bets: Gretna, Arbroath, St Johnstone, Peterhead, Queens Park

Excellent write up Scotty and agree with most selections but wouldn't risk money on St. Johnstone and Queens Park.
I'm with you on the Peterhead game, that is my main tip after reading on another website that they now only have 8 fit players, and as they are a weak team already, should see a comfortable win. I was expecting Peterhead to come higher in the league than they are at present. It is games like these they need to win.

GL with your bets.

Thanks boyd.

Not decided on anything yet but did note in the paper today that the Peterhead game will go ahead despite Forfar only having 8 or 9 fit players. Online the price has fallen steeply on Peterhead now standing at 1.43 on bet365 but 8/11 is still available on the ladbrokes coupon. Reading around the forms etc. and in the 3rd Stenny and Dumbarton may be worth a look as I pointed out there is little to seperate the teams with only 5 points of a difference between the first 8 teams but again I'll look into these games further. I am also tempted by my own team Clyde at 2/1 at home to Livi we are undefeated in 6 games and are playing some good football coupled with our forward Imrie been in fine form and I think we have a great chance of at least getting a point. We also have a good record against the top teams in the division 0-0 with St Johnstone and Gretna only beat us 2-1 with a late winner in the 88th minute. We are a physical team who don't give the opposition a minute on the ball but I don't like betting on my own team and the first goal in the game could be crucial.

Peterhead for me too mainly because of Forfars injury problems.

Of their 8 fit players 2 are goalies. I can't understand why the SFL have made them play. Surely if they haven't got 11 fit players then game should be called off.

Berwick go into this game finally looking to find a firm grip of their form to life in division 3. They are boosted by a good away win at Elgin last week, who despite their position have provided a stern test for most teams so far. Berwick certainly have the potential to do the business in this league, and will be looking to the loan signing of Hearts man Dennis McLaughlin for inspiration. Berwick suffer abit of a selection dilema at the back, with defenders McNiccol and Robbie Horn missing. Having said that manager John Coughlin points to the importance of this game.

Coughlin said: ``We got a good win at Elgin last week and we wanted to back that up this weekend against Montrose'

Montrose have a full squad to choose from, but their manager David Robertson knows the battle ahead of them; ``It will be a tough game because we only have one point away from home and Berwick had a good win at Elgin last week. It's always a tough game against them``

This will be a pretty tight game, but the experience and quality that Berwick have might well see them through against a side that usually sits at the lower half of this divison.

Berwick -0.5 (2.10) Pointbet

Must agree on this one too, Just been reading this on bbc website;

Injury-hit Forfar told to play on

George Shaw had to list himself as a trialist on Saturday

Forfar Athletic have had their request to postpone Saturday's Second Division game against Peterhead rejected despite having just eight fit players.

Forfar say manager George Shaw, who has a squad of 19, had been hit by an unprecedented injury crisis.

"The club have put in the application to have the game called off," club physio Brian McNeill had said.

"The club doctor has provided the appropriate certification required by the SFA to make their decision."
Forfar say they were only able to name three "useable outfield substitute players" for Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Morton.

One of those was Shaw, who was listed as a trialist, and the eight who are fit include two goalkeepers.
"Alan Rattray and Fraser Coyle were both forced to end their game prematurely with recurrences of injuries, the former's injury requiring an un-fit Paul Tosh to play 45 minutes as a make shift centre half," said the club website. In all, Forfar have nine players definitely out through injury and two others doubtful for the trip to Peterhead this weekend.

It pisses me off though how firms trim their odds. Peterhead were 1.57 in this mornings procewise with bet365, they're now 1.40.

tried getting on in a couple of lads shops this morning and both shops had a notice up saying the price had changed to 2/5. Maybe the play could be to bet correct score on peterhead 4-0 5-0 etc on another coupon elsewhere as lads have worked correct scores prices out at 2/5

Treble: Gretna, Arbroath, Peterhead 1pt @ 2.33

3 teams who should win easily. Gretna have not found this season as easy as they had probably hoped with Livi and St Johnstone both keeping pace with them. Both Livi and St Johnstone have tough games this weekend and Gretna will be determinded to take advantage if one of them slips up. Gretna do have a fair few injuries but it is likely that only one or two of them would have made the team and they have the strenght in depth to see of Airdrie. Arbroath recorded a good win away at Stenny last week with their forwards getting special praise and I think they will be too good for Elgin who have been shocking all season. Peterhead have a few out against Forfar but has been well noted that Forfar will struggle to fill their subs bench for the game and Peterhead should beat what will be a hobbled together team.

Treble: Gretna, Hamilton, Peterhead 1pt @ 2.65

Same as the above bit with the inclusion of Hamilton instead. Queen of the South have been poor this season are still missing several players. Hamilton are likewise missing several first team players but should record a similar victory the 1-0 score recorded last week away at Ross County.

Dumbarton 1pt@ 3.10

Dumbarton have won the last 3 in a row 3-1 against Albion, 4-0 against Stenny and 2-0 at Elgin. East Fife on the other hand lost 2-0 last week at Queen's Park. This game could go either way with most teams in division 3 capable of beating each other and with Dumbarton's good recent form are worth a small punt.

Queen's Park 2pts @ 1.75

The price has dropped on Queen's Park for this game and I should have got my bet on earlier. East Stirling have vastly improved this season but have lost 2 similar games to Arbroath(evens) and Albion (11/10) both 1-0 and I can see the same happening today. Queen's Park recorded a good win at home last week over leaders East Fife and should hopefully pick up another 3 points today.

I'm not the only one who heard about Forfars injury crisis then...lol

2/5 is still value on Peterhead
They beat stranraer whpo are in and around the same bit of the table 5-2 at home and thats without the other team having massive injury problems

Peterhead home form reads like; 1 W,1 D, 2 L
Forfars away; 0 W, 1 D, 2 L

Theres better value to be had than the 2/5 now on offer though, 4/9 on Coral beats those odds plus;

Peterhead Ht/Ft @ 1/1 is still available

and Peterhead Ht @ 1.9 both with Coral

I'm on all three results with decent sized stakes

Some strange scorelines here, Motherwell 3-0 up against Kilmarnock which is a shock to most. St Mirren also leading 1-0 against Hibernian.

Fantastic to see Peteerhead up 6-0, alot of people backed them this week so well done guys

Wish I had seen that about the Peterhead game, I havn't had a chance to even look at any games this weekend. Nice one to all those who got a decent price.
