clyde are in turmoil just now - graeme roberts about to be sacked and no manager in charge, joe miller taking 1st team. Clyde done well last year ( put us out of scottish cup ) but it was a new team of young boys who got into the team through an experimental trial roberts did, started with no players and everyone had to prove themselves at a trial - I think the team over-achieved through roberts assertive approach and under joe miller ( quiet ex celtic player ) the same type of commitment might not be so easy. St Johnstone will be up with gretna all season and 3 points on the board will be priority numero uno.

I'm a Clyde fan myself and to be honest weren't in that bad a shape for the season:

We have a very settled squad for the first time in the last 2 seasons and have only lost forwards Williams and Brighton.

Although the manager situation is officially to be resolved. Joe Miller has been in charge since May and will be appointed manger with Tommy Coyne ex-Motherwell player to be his assitant. The hold up is the compensation that Graham Roberts is seeking. As most Scottish punters on here might be aware the bust up between Roberts and Miller ended up on the back page of the papers a few days running and with Roberts having made alleged racist jokes has resulted in the whole affair dragging out.

We have looked good in pre-season and have only conceded 1 goal in 6 games although the opposition in some of these games has not been that high. Our main problem will be scoring goals Williams and Brighton bagged over 20 goals last season but we have created plenty of chances in pre-season.

I think the St Johnstone price will factor in this supposed turmoil and the league positions from last season which will result in the price being lower than I think it should be.

Interesting to see how Gretna get on. The last few years has been a fairy story for them but I can't beleive the bookies have got them at odds on for the title. WH make them 8/11 whilst Saints are about 4/1. I would have expected it the other way round.

Anyhow I'm going to Gretna to see off Hamilton. The home side had a pre season game away at Hartlepool the other day and came away with a 2-2 draw after leading 2-0 at one stage.

Not much of interest in the first this week. Would have looked at Airdrie but is expected they will be missing forward Prunty who is their main goal threat and one of their young midfielders who's name I cant remember off hand. The prices on Livingston and St Johnstone are just too low in my opinion and I think they games will be alot closer than the odds suggest. Gretna should win but Hamilton are a tough team to breakdown they usually play a very defensive game and try to sneak the 1-0 win. Dundee v Thistle could go either way and would be best left alone as well.

I agree that Gretna should win but they actually got beaten 3-2 by Hartlepool.

Not tempted by much in this league though. Maybe Thistle at Dundee for some value.

I am an airdrie fan and i have been impressed with us going forward although we may not be as good defensively. With regards to Prunty, he will be fit. Check the link below. Midfielder McDougall will also be fit. I fully expect a diamonds win, it wont be a low scoring game though

ReasoningGretna's new signing Colin McMenamin could make his debut against Hamilton.

Hamilton manager Billy Reid has several injury worries.

Marvyn Wilson, Mark McLaughlin, Alex Neil and Derek Fleming are all battling to be fit for this division opener.

Gretna have had some good pre-season results drawing 2-2 away to Hartlepool and beating premier division Dunfermline 1-3 in a friendly. Gretna have some excellent strikers Deucher has scored goals at every level so far and although this league wont be as easy as the other 2 leagues they won they are rightly favourites for promotion. I expect a strong start from Gretna as their players will want to be involved in their european campaign and today is the right time to play an understrenght Hamilton

After reading some of your views guys i have decided to go with the Airdie v Ross game and back over 2.5 goals at expeckt.
The price is lower with other firms and looks to be a bit of value.
Also agree that Gretna should be challenging again this season but cant back them at this price until we see the evidence.

Good luck guys!

Thanks for the info Hendrie. Work with an Airdrie fan who pretty much said the same as yourself. Although he did also say that Kevin Christie has looked good at the back I thought that guy was past it a few seasons ago never mind now!

Time to apologise! Airdrie were absolutely dreadful today. no shots on target, defence crap and keeper crap. could be a long hard season.

I was on the fence with Grenta too but looks like we have all the evidence we need now
