thumbsdown Leeds

Sorry Paul but you must have known this was coming....

Rumour has it that Leeds might be on their way into administration, the resulting 10 point penatly would put them in the relegation zone. Add to this the fact that they might have to sell players and forest have a new manager, then the 14.0 available on Betfair for Leeds to go down looks quite appealing.

Now I must stress that I'm by no means certain that Leeds will go into admin, are there any Leeds fans out there with info?

not a leeds fan, but live there and know/drink with a few of the players
According to them the clubs fine as long as carson goes for a decent price.
At one point they thought the 10pts was worth it as they could then go the way of leicester/ipswich (i think it was those two) the other season, they thought even with 10pts off they could stay up and then get promoted next season. not sure if thats club policy though

what i do know is the leeds players know they are playing for their livelyhood now and actually want to turn things around rather than move on

It's going to take more than £1M for carson to save Leeds. According to Krasner they're going to lose £10M between now and the end of the season and if they don't get some investment they will go into administration. Unless they go on a bad run though i can't see a deduction of 10pts sending them down, as much as i would love it. Although it would be incredibly close and 14.0 looks reasonable value.

I'm a Leeds fan and far as I know we're going to need the 15M£ investment from Norman Stubbs or an eventual takeover from the same people who where going to buy the club with SS, only this time without SS. (The later looking quite unlikely)

But Bruise has a good point, this time around we don't have a bunch of lazy **** who know they can just move on to another club if we relegate. Most of our players see Leeds United as their chance to start/restart their career. So they'll defenitely be playing with more SOUL than last years team!

I'f we get 10 point deducted we will be 3rd from the bottom

I think administatration is quite a realistic oppurtunety, but I'd wait a week or so before making any bets as we'll (hopefully) know more then.

Personally I don't think Leeds will go down even with the 10 point deduction. However, with media scaremongering I think you'd be able to lay at a lot less than 14.0 immediatley after it happened.

Also if they were forced to sell Healy and a couple of other they would be in real trouble

Why did Krasner take Leeds over?

From what I can see - his consortium took them over without the ability to turn them around. They dont have any money to invest and have seemingly just looked for a prospective buyer from the moment they took them over.

And whatever happened to that McKenzie feller, the Professor of Economics that was going to save them from falling apart?

They should have gone into receivership this time last year when relegation was imminent anyway.

Dare I say, another Sheffield Wednesday.

Slightly off topic, but it is quite sad to see so many ex prem teams in a bad way.. Sheff Wed, Sheff U, Barnsley, Swindon, Oldham, Leeds, Forest etc etc.....

Bets aside all I can say is I hope not. I have been a leeds supporter all my life, and we have gone through so much shit this last year or so, relegation again would just be unimaginable.

I think that we may survive administration, I know someone who works there, and although he is not that high up, seems to think we will be OK. Even if we do get relegated, I think that we will probably manage to stay up, but its going to be a close call.

I just cant bet against my team to get relegated....

Great info guys, I think I might leave this one alone for a while.

Basically you'd be betting on Leeds going into administration, which from the above sounds like it's not certain. If they don't then 14.0 is a terrible price.

Also, to make decent money on a back and lay you have to make the assumption that betfair punters are more stupid than you. From experience I can say that prices don't always drop as much as you'd think in situations like this.

Well, if this thing about administration is true, than good idea would be backing Leeds in coming weeks, unless they sell all of their players - I simply don't see this team go down again.

That about sums it up for me. Even if we do go into administration, based on our performances this season so far I don't think we would go down. Administration is not certain and for me at this moment in time 14.0 is not a good price
