Rather see Berbatov staying with Spurs as I am sure good buys are coming towards WHL with the new manager, Ramos will be looking back home as he knows the players well. My guess will be a couple of Spaniards, or a couple of Sevilla players who are not usually in the starting 11.... Last edited by nicko; 27-12-2007 at 21:20.

| Transfer window opens in about 4 hours time. I tend to think it'll be a quiet one. Lots of rummors about Anelka going to Chelsea for 10m, which I think would be good all round. Also Berbatovs agents is quoted as saying "Fans must understand Dimitar is 27 next month and time is running out for him to play for a club that can match his ambition. " Spurs can't match his ambition ?? Wonder where he wants to go ?? For all the talk about him going to United, I'm not sure. He'd cost 3 times what Anelka would. Is he a better player ? I'm not sure. I think I'd rather have Anelka and a new right back instead, perhaps Allan Hutton from Rangers. If that happens, then time to sell Wes Brown whilst he's still got some value, Pique and O'Shea can cover in the middle, Simpson / Nev / Mystery new RB can play on the right. You're an idiot Wesley, sign the bloody contract 40k a week is a bloody good wage, who cares if it half what Rio earns, you're not getting paritiy. All down hill frm here son. Liverpool will most likely sign no one due to their money problems caused by the stadium. Arsenal will sign some 17 year from a former french colony in Africa whom no one has heard of for 200,000 and by this time next year he'll be world class. |

| Dreadful signing all round I think. He wouldn't fit into the Chelsea way of playing, he'd do well at Arsenal though. He's 28 in a couple of months, looking for a last big pay day I guess. He seems to have peaked a few years ago, I don't think he's the kind of player that'll still be in the game at 36. If I was the Barca chairman, I'd punt him for anything over 15m. |

| Evening chaps, just something i found out today on this subject, Villa are trying to make the Scott Carson loan deal permaent, but Carson is asking for a pay increase he is currently on 36K and has told his agent he wants 65K, and Villa aren't interested in paying that. He own fault really like the bloke said if he was going to the Euros then maybe he could demand more, but as we all know hes NOT!!!!!!!!!! |

| I really can't imagine him in the Chelsea shirt. In fact, I can.. but my mind blocks that thought for the sake of sanity.

| Not official yet but we (everton) are close to signing Dan Gosling, anyone know much about him apart from that he is a bright young talent?

Prefers right wing but can play at right back. Is only 17 and has only been playing at international level at that level so can only see him being slotted into the reserves for a few years or loaned out, really can't see him getting in the first team who are playing REALLY well atm with him having only been getting championship first-team experience from around March.

| Alan Hutton is apparently thinking over an £8m move from Rangers to Spurs. I can't see us completing the deal but interesting to see that we have £8m to throw at another right back! We've just signed Gunter and I thought he was a right back. Add those two to Chimbonda and Stalteri and we have 4 right backs! Increasing squad depth a little too much? |

| Diarra's been kicking up a stink about not playing recently and there were rumours today that we are going to swap him with Jagielka from Everton. I havent really got a preference as to whether the deal goes through or not but it sounds like bollox to me anyway as you'd surely never get Wenger swapping a Frenchman for an Englishman! ![]()

| would have thought Jagielka would struggle to hold a place anywhere. A good championship player but not sure about the prem. Diarra will stay at Arsenal I would expect. Thanks for Matt Connolly AK, is he any good?

| Well Jagielka's in and out of the Everton side so he would be a strange acquisition for us, but considering Wengers previous, he'll probably go and turn him into the next Platini or something! Or maybe he impressed during his cameo goalkeeping appearance against us for Sheffield United last season and is being lined up as Lehmanns replacement I agree with you that it probably wont happen though. As for Connolly, he is/was our reserve captain, but only played twice for the first team, both in the Carling Cup. He is an England under 21 international but apparently lacks a bit of pace, which may have counted against him with our high tempo style of play, which someone like Djourou (now back from Birmingham) would be more suited to. If you know any Bournemouth fans, he had a spell with them on loan so they might give you some clues. He has been on loan at Colchester this season but was out of position at right back so stuggled i think.

First, I rather see this as a bad move for Ronaldinho, if what you are saying is right and he has only got a couple of good years in front of him left, then a transfer to London will finish him earlier... Anything over 15m? Mind me asking how much is that - 16, 20, 30 or more? Laporta is the best businessman in the history of Spanish football. The guy managed to go around a 100-year old tradition without a single complaint from the fans - no advertising on Barca tops! For just half a season a well-known bookie recently offered Barca 16m. True , it is the UNESCO logo, but I am sure the club capitalised on this far more than just a nice PR....Even a 50m for Ronaldinho will pay off nicely and quick, whoever buys him simply has to plan an Asian/American summer tour. Point is to buy him within the next 6 months. Need I remind you some names of football-goners who made a fortune with/for their current clubs? Ronaldinho is still worth a lot when merchandise is involved....The Big 4 in Italy know it, Real know it, others do as well.... Last but not least is what's left in Ronaldinho as a footballer. People seem to underestimate the fact that Barca play changed a lot in the last 12-18 months, IMO as of wrong management and transfers. Watching a Barca game now is like watching the first half of England vs Croatia, with everyone in the middle- Barry, Lampard and Gerrard. In some games you see Ronaldinho, Messi, Deco, Xabi/Iniesta and Henry together. Does it ring a bell? Which one of these is a 100% forward? Eto'o is, shame he is injured so often, but when he plays, Ronaldinho feels better as he is best at creating/providing or when a top-class forward takes some the heat from him, i.e number of defenders covering him. IMO at the moment he is either in the wrong place or with the wrong manager, or both. Writting off Ronaldinho at the age of 27-28!?!? Some did the same with Juninho recently, then this ''spoilt-football goner'' gave us 3 top games to make sure Rangers do not go through the CL. Just for the argument, Juninho is older than Ronaldinho... If I was Barca chairman I would keep him, change the manager and buy another decent forward with skills. Berbatov would do, certainly worth more than Bent and Anelka together....Clearly Berbatov's name coming up here on purpose, I can see you do not rate him very high but I read Ramos sent a bid-warning today to everyone, worth checking that one out, some good points there. As of Anelka, you somehow seem to forget his age, and strange enough - the fact that in my memory Anelka in all his career had one and only one good season, in Arsenal. A disaster in Real, a travesty in PSG, and a couple of good seasons in a mediocre EPL club Bolton. A move to Chelsea? In January? I wish him luck, surely could contribute more than Sheva, but unless Drogba follows Mourinho wherever, Anelka is doomed to rub the bench, and rub it nicely and often... | anelka has been left out of the starting line up - could it be due to an impending move...?

| George Boateng was fit today, but not in Boro squad, with several young midfielders pushing through i.e. Lee Cattermole, Adam Johnson, Jason Grounds, Graeme Owers plus the Egyptian Shawky now settled in England, I can see George moving on for a fee or make weight for a striker deal this month. Anyone not playing today is not cup tied. 3 Prem teams have made bids or want to. George is a model pro, but his legs are going. |
