I will certainly start looking into Barca situation deeply, strange things might happen there earlier then expected. Away to Mallorca tonight Deco and Henry are on the bench, Ronaldinho is not in the squad...No matter who they sell, they must buy in order to avoid empty-hands-season. With Atletico, Villareal and Espanyol clearly pushing for a CL place and Real looking better this year, no fresh buys in January means opposing Barca in both La Liga and CL might pay off nicely....

According to Transfermarkt.de ( http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/verei...sferdaten.html ), Branislav Ivanovic has already signed for Chelsea, but except a number of rumours about his possible move to Juventus, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Man Utd, AC Milan, there are no official news anywhere!

Liverpool are splashing cash - 6 million on defender Martin Skrtel (Zenit St Petersburg).... 23 years olds and capped 15 times by Slovakia.

The most ever spent by Liverpool on a defender - and probably the transfer flop of the summer. How serious are the board with keeping Benitez !!!

Another couple.... Both Derby bound subject to medical/personal....
Robbie Savage from Blackburn - An excellent purchase for Derby - someone who will givet them some fight. However, will be very suprised if Savage completes personal terms - he may want to play week in week out but does he want to do this playing Championship football next season!!!
Robert Pires - Subject to internacional clearence - Frenchman Robert, 32, has impressed while training with the Rams, and manager Paul Jewell has signed him up until the end of the season (bbc website).

Barcelona looking in to buying Boltons Jaaskelainen... He is out of contract at end of season and could leave on a free transfer.

Defoe told he can leave. Can't think of an EPL club apart from Newcastle stupid enough to sign him though....

Defoe told he can leave Tottenham

Jermain Defoe has struggled for regular games at Spurs

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has revealed coach Juande Ramos has told him he can leave White Hart Lane.
But the 25-year-old England forward - who is out of contract at the end of next season - insists he wants to stay.
Defoe told The Sun: "The manager has said I can leave if I want, but I want to stay here and prove him wrong.
"He called me into his office and told me. I thought it was a joke. I thought he was going to say I would be starting against Arsenal in the Carling Cup."
606: DEBATE

What the hell is going on here?

parklaneyi{)

The striker added: "He just said 'you can leave if you want to'. Yet I have no intention of leaving this club because I love it here."
Defoe has not agreed a new deal at Spurs and there are fears within White Hart Lane that he could walk out on a free transfer in 18 months in a repeat of the saga that ended with Sol Campbell moving to arch-rivals Arsenal.
Now he is waiting to discover if he will edge out Robbie Keane or Dimitar Berbatov for a place against Arsenal in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg at the Emirates.
He has not been a regular in the Spurs line-up in the last two seasons, and Aston Villa have been linked with a move in the January transfer window. Defoe said: "I would love to sign a new contract and I know people at the top of the club want me to stay. But no-one can expect me to sign a new deal if I can't get a game. "If I had wanted to I could have gone ages ago. I have never said I wanted to leave Spurs and I don't now."

i'm sure that there will be several premier clubs after him, but agree that he's overrated and wont be worth his transfer fee unless he hangs on until summer 2009!

£14m for Alves is stupid. Smacks of Bryan Robson panic buying when he was in charge. Sure the guy is a finished in Holland but so was Samaras at the same club Heerenveen. He's not getting any younger and this for me smacks of desperation to be honest. Good player yes, £14m player, hell no.

Strange that, as the reason I'm on this thread is to say that I've heard we are signing Downing with someone going the other way.

We;ll have to wait and see

Diarra, Downing and Fred all to join Spurs as well as Jarque. That's been the latest Spurs rumours and makes sense with Defoe to leave to join 'Boro in exchange for Downing. Fred would then come in to keep the number of strikers up to 4.

My neice works at Anfield and has told me that Liverpool are trying to land Henry from Barcelona! - Apparently Henry is not happy warming the bench and has been a long admirer of Liverpool - Stevie G even asked him to join before he left for Barcelona. If a loan deal can't be struck until the end of the season then apparently he'll be coming in the summer!!!
