FRI 21:00 Finn Harps - Cork City 5.70 3.85 1.75
The hosts without numerous key players because of injuries. Last game with similar troubles they lost to Saint Patricks (1-5). Cork is in great form and should take advantage of that easily. AWAY WIN 6/10

FRI 20:45 Kildare County - FC Dundalk 5.20 3.65 1.82
Kildare County is really poor at the moment, while FCD has all to play for. Last time both team met it was 6-0 for FC Dundalk. For me it's a high margin AWAY WIN 8/10

Derry City v Bray Wanderers

I'll be going with the draw on this one available at 3/1 on Betfair at time of writing. 13/5 is available with Ladbrokes if you must go to a bookmaker. That price may increase if money goes onto Derry.

Derry were hammered 0-3 by St. Pats in their last home game. They lost the home game previous against Cork again conceding 3 goals. Twice this season they have drawn at home against weaker teams.

Bray lost to Finn Harps in thier last game, not a great result. However they have a bad habit of losing to weak teams away. A good habit they also hold is not losing to stronger teams in the league while on their travels. They drew 1-1 away to St. Pats 1-1 away to Bohemians and 0-0 away to Cork.

They are more than capable of drawing away to Derry too. Not a certain bet but it is definitely value at 3/1 on Betfair. I've also put a smaller bet on the game ending 1-1 at 13/2 . Derry's defence has been leaky of late and Bray ought to concede to them as well. Also Bray have already drawn 1-1 twice away to top table teams.

Cobh Ramblers v St. Patricks Athletic

I'll go with the away win for St. Pats who are 4/6 with Betfair and also Betfred. Expect more money to go on St. Pats and for that price to disappear.

This is an obvious pick looking at the form but i think 4/6 is a little too loose a price for the possibility of an away win. 8/13 might be a more appropiate assessment a price which many bookmakers indeed have.

The story tells itself. St. Pats are undefeated away from home. Cobh have lost half their games at home. They hammered Derry in their last away game and bar one slip up against Galway have taken care of business with weak teams. Cobh have lost their last four games at home conceding 11 in the process. Two of those teams are considered lower table teams. They've conceded 15 in their last five games overall.

Worth backing the short away win price for me. Probably a 0-2 or 1-3 scoreline.

Under 2.5 goals double: Monaghan v Waterford, Athlone v Longford

The prices are not available at the moment but if you can get both these games at 4/7+ to be unders i would put them in a double. I won't rule out backing them both in singles.

Monaghan's home games have produced the least goals in the division. Only 5 for and 4 against in 8 games.
Waterford have the joint second least number of goals conceded away from home and have scored the least of the teams occupying the top four positions of the division in away games.
Monaghan havn't scored more than once in any home game this season and havn't scored at all in 2 of their last 4 at home.

Longford's away games have the least number of goals scored in them in the division. 5 for and 8 against in 8 games.
Athlone have not let in more than 1 goal in their last 3 games.
Athlone have only scored more than one goal in 1 game out of the last 6 at home.
Longford havn't scored more than one goal away from home all season.

Sure looking at thses stats now you wouldn't go too wrong in backing them both to end as draws. I'll stick to the total goals though.

Derry City-Bray
Just looked at team news:
Gavin Whelan, Chris O'Connor and Colm Tresson will all miss Bray's trip to Derry on Friday night.

Whelan serves a one match ban following his sending off in the League Cup tie against Galway United.

Chris O'Connor is away on international duty with the Austrailian Olympic team and Colm Tresson is missing with a long term hamstring injury.

Bray will play without best midfielder (Whelan) and GK O'Connor.

On the other side Derry City team news:
Owen Morrisson is still struggling with a knee injury but has returned to light training. Steven Gray also has a knee problem and will undergo a fitness test before the game.Stephen Kenny, "We hope to get back to winning ways in the league, we had a good performance against Bohs in the League Cup at the Brandywell, beating them 4-1, and we would very much like to replicate that form the league.
We had been in good form at home but there have been a few slip-ups recently and we are keen to put them behind us.
Bray have beaten us earlier in the campaign, so we know it will be a tough encounter, but we will be looking for a good performance and hopefully the 3 points."

Fin Harps will miss 4 or 5 players (mostly defenders) so I completly agree that Cork City win is excelent bet.
Odds are gone down so you got excelent bet @ 1.75 DJSOSNA

Full squad Dundalk against poor Kildare County is excelent bet too.

My picks for tonight:
Cork City @ 1.68 8/10
Dundalk @ 1.80 6/10
Derry City @ 1.62 8/10
Shelbourne @ 1.70 4/10
Monaghan-Waterford under 2.5 @ 1.60 4/10

Harps v Cork

As you say lads Harps are missing a number of defenders. Even when they have their first team they are average at best. Having a tough season, especially against the bigger sides. In the opening series of games Cork beat them 3-0, in fact they were 3-0 up at HT.

Cork are the form team in the league and Dave Mooney is the form player. The odds on Cork are too short for my liking. Mooney to score is just as likely and better odds. He has scored in his last eight games. He has also scored two in five out of the last six games. He will get chances against Harps. At a price of 11/8 I think that is a special price.

Bets: Dave Mooney to score anytime. 10/10 @ 11/8.
Dave Mooney to score first: 5/10 @ 9/2

Derry v Bray

Derry are traditionally strong at home. They suffered two recent loses in the Brandywell against Cork and St Pats. Bray are not as good as these sides. Derry are missing Owen Morrison and Steven Gray so they will be missing their left back and left midfielder. This will mean that they aren't as treatening going forward.

Bray are doing well this year, but not away from home. Two wins this season, both against weaker sides than themselves. I expect Bray to defend for most of this game. They did this away to Pat's, Bohs and Cork - getting a draw each time - and so will keep to that same formula.

So with Derry not scoring that many goals. On average one a game (17 in 20) and Bray two every three games (12 in 16.) I see value in the correct score market.

Bets: Correct Scores:
7/10 each @ 12.0 (0-0) & 7.8 (1-1) & 6.4(1-0 Derry) & 9.7 (2-1 Derry)

Galway v Sligo

Both sides have sold and bought players making this a difficult game to call for either side. This is also a derby game making it a bit more competitive. No Faz for Sligo and Coleman is 50-50. Galway let 4-5 first team go due to financial problems.

I feel this wil be close. So there is value the draw.

Bets: Correct Score 1-1 & 2-2 & 3-3
3/10 @ 150/1 (3-3) 7/10 @ 6/1 (1-1) 7/0 @ 20/1

UCD v Rovers

Draw seems mostly likely. Both sides have struggled to get wins this season. So will probably struggle to beat eachother tonight.

A small bet: Draw Match. 2/10 @ 3.0

I predicted a draw between Derry and Bray but looking at the injuries Bray have i wouldn't be so confident of it anymore.

They have been missing their first choice keeper a lot this season so that shouldn't be too big a concern. They are also missing Gavin Whelan. He is a minor loss. If Cawley or Kavanagh were missing in midfield it would sway me but not Whelo. Tresson has been injuried this year a lot too. Your call obviously dsmythy but they have all their key players.

Nice of you gurdjieff. Strong picking from the rest of you lads too.

My evening was ok. That bet came off. Another did too, but it seems I never backed it. I bet on the Derry match TWICE and not the Galway-Sligo match according to my account info. So tonight doesn't feel like a win.

My accounting works out like so:

Loses: 28 points on the Derry game. 10 points on the Galway - Sligo game. 2 points on the UCD - Rovers game. Total: 40

(Haven't been able to use this next word in a while)

Winnings: 37 on the Cork game. Thank you Dave Mooney. 32 on the Galway - Sligo game. Total: 69

Net Winnings: 29 points. Long overdue.

Ramblers V Pat's

Ramblers will look to keep it tight. It looks like they will play new signings O'Brian and O'Halloran will play in the middle to help this happen. They are experienced and will make Pat's earn anything they get.

Pat's are top of the league. A win will put them 4 points clear. They have a European game next week and will see this game as very important. They have most players available. Key players are available.

Pat's are the most attacking and creative side in the league. If they can keep it together defensively then they will win this game. An away win is too skinny for me to back. So I'm going to punt in the correct score market.

Bet: Pat's to win. 2-1, 3-1, 3-2. 4/10 @ 7/1, 11/1, 25/1

Well Derry took care of Bray so i was a bit off on that one to say the least. The two unders games i chose had 1 goal between them so they came in. Waiting for St. Pats now. Half time and no goals. Getting kinda worried on that one now.

EDIt: St. Pats won 1-0. Not the most convincing but it'll do the trick.
