Drogheda were poor in their 3-0 away loss to St Pats last week and have no basically lost all hope of winning the Irish title. Derry had a slip up last week with a 1-1 draw to Bohemians which was an upset. In the other match you cant really go past Shelbourne, they are capable of beating anyone in this league at any ground and $1.65 for them to beat Longford looks too good to pass up

Longford vs Shelbourne You only need to look at head to head stats between these two teams to see the extent of the power Shelbourne posess. Head to head Longford are 2-2-9 against Shelbourne, in the last 8 meetings Longford have only score 1 goal past Shelbourne too which is worth noting. If Shelbourne win here they will open up a 9 point lead on second place Derry (who play Drogheda tonight) and will amost have 1 hand on the trophy. Longford welcome back Dan O'Connor and Davy Burne after suspensions, but will miss Des Baker as he is suspended. Shelbourne have defenders Owen Heary and Dave Rogers to their squad which will boost them in defence as they are good players, while their top scorer Jason Byrne will return to attack. Overall its very hard not to see anything other than a Shelbourne win here, but given some of the results recently over this international break im going to suggest to throw some caution into the winds and not bet high stakes. On a normal weekend i would rate Shelbourne 9/10 to win this, but with the strange results in all leagues i will rate them only 7/10 for the win. Pick Shelbourne to WIN at $1.70 - (7/10) Good luck ![]()

I will also looking at putting some small stakes on the Derry/Shelbourne double which pays $2.90. My reasoning is that both these teams are the main title contenders and morale will be high. Derry must win their match or they will pretty much be out of the title race given Shelbourne should win their match tonight (as per my review above) Pick Shelbourne/Derry DOUBLE at $2.90 - (5/10)

Nice preview there ads . I'm jumping on Shelbourne bandwagon too tonight. I dont have any knowledge about this league but I do know the statistic favours Shelbourne too. So medium stake on this one, G'luck everyone ![]() Last edited by 888; 10-10-2006 at 13:48. Reason: typos

Looks like a dull game at Longford, not even a yellow card. Shelbourne don't look like motivated enough. Derry fell behind and levelled soon after. I'm not sure if the favourites can do it tonight.

Sheesh, how the hell do you pick these games?!? On paper and using recent results in the league and head to head stats, its hard to imagine how Shelbourne could beat Longford and how Derry lost at home has got me stuffed. I dont think they have lost a home league match for a year?! If these same games were on again tonight id do the exact same bets, your due an upset result every now and then but two in one night!?@ ![]()

| Ads, you should have tried the English Conference last night. Some shockers there!
