Looks a very straight forward week in the Premier Division!

Drogheda, Shelbourne, Cork, UCD & Derry all look good value for wins here. The 5 way multibet will pay around $17 so perhaps worth looking at.

Only doubtful one at the moment is Drogheda away to St Pats, Drogs arent in great touch at the moment and St Pats play well at home. The Drogs are a far superior side to St Pats on their day, but they haven't had a great day for a number of weeks now.

Agree with you ads, it does look like a straight forward week on paper but from experience these straight forward weeks have a tendency to bite you on the balls! Beware!!!

ReasoningThe 1st game at Sligo ended in a 0-0 draw but i dont know how as Killesters goal was under constant pressure for the 90 minutes and it was a miracle that they kept a clean sheet. Todays game will be in Tolka Park home fo Shelbourne as Killesters ground is not suitable to hole this tie. With the Irish league structure it has hard to say how many divisions ther eis between the sides but it is like a premership side playing a conference side in England. Sligo Rovers are full time and preparation will be very important.

Early team news is that defenders Liam Burns, Michael McNamara are definetly out and forward Darren Mansaram is a doubht but Sligo have suitable cover and still should be too strong for Junior side Killester United. Hopefully an early goal for Sligo will make Killester come out and play a bit this time and then i expect a comfortable win for Sligo.

UCD have a number of player who are on Scholarships where they study at the university and also play for the football team allowing them to train regularily and use the 1st class facilities. They do have other experienced players like Tony McDonnell and their manager Pete Mahon is a great motivator. UCD regularily upset the top teams as they are full of energy and very well organised and prepared.

Bray have a new manager Edie Gormley a bit of a Legend in irish football and they got a lucky 1-1 draw at Drogheda in his 1st game but Cork hammered them last week 6-0 or something like that. They havnt signed any players of note since the new manager came in. Im not completly sure on this but i think Bray have lost 13 of their last 14 games which says it all. However this is a game where they feel they may get a point or even sneak a win. UCD dont generally score many goals so the 1st goal is all important but of course the smart money is on UCD although the price isnt great(Team news will help though)

St Pats vs Drogheda
Out of form Drogheda travel to Richmond park to take on St Pats in a match i think the Drogs will win. St Pats are in the final 4 of the FAI Cup and may make that a priority rather than the league now considering that is the only thing they can achieve from this season now and with Drogheda still in slight contention to claim the Irish title, this is an absolute must win for them. The problem for Drogheda though is that they have only won 1 of their past 10 games, but only 1 of those 10 games has been a loss, the other 8 games were draws. Drogheda have one of the tightest defences in this league and if you look at the table this shows as they have only conceded 14 goals from 21 matches but scoring is a problem for them as they have only scored 23, not good enouigh for a title prospect. As far as the team sheets go Mark Rooney and Keith Fahey return for St Pats while Stephen Quigley is doubtful & Kevin Grogan remains out injured. Drogheda miss Tony Grant & James Keddy who are both good players, and they also miss their best play Declan O'Brien who is suspended, but he has been out for most of the year with injury and they have coped without him ok. Im looking at Drogs to win a close one here and interestlingly St Pats have only won 1 out of 5 at Richmond Park against Drogheda. Also there is a strong chance this will end 0-0 or 0-1 and i will have a small dab at the 0-1.

Pick Drogheda to WIN at $2.60 - (6/10)
Pick score to end 0-1 at $7.00 - (3/10)

Good write up ads25, its about time Drogheda started to win a few games as pressure is on them to qualify for Europe or the Setanta cup as they probably have the highest paid squad in the division.

Other games look like:

Derry - Bohemians : Derry (Handicap -1, HT/FT, Derry to win to nil) all look like resonable bets tonight.
Cork - Longford : Cork(Handicap -1, HT/FT, Derry to win to nil) all look like resonable bets tonight.
Wateford - Shelbourne : Shelbourne(HT/FT, Over 2.5 goals) look resonable bets
UCD - Bray : Trick 1 to call, UCD missing some important players, Bray have a new manager......probably a draw.

1st Divsion
Galway - Shamrock Rovers : Massive game draw or under 2.5 look good here.
Athlone - Limerick : Dont know anything could happen
Monaghan - Cobh: Dont know, anything could happen

Zoolander, what are your thoughts on the following multi?

Cork/Derry/Drogheda/Shelbourne at $9.65

All teams who should comfortably win in my opinion and 9.65 is fantastic value, even with small stakes

As you know ads25 the games in this league are very tight so my first impression is that one o your 4 choices will fall. I'm expecting some 0-0 or 1-1 to happen in these games. But this is only my oppinion.

BTW the odd in one game is these games are arround 1.50 and you know how hard is to bet on them (see Australian league 2day)
Derry City v Bohemian (19:45 BST)1.553.806.50
Waterford v Shelbourne (19:45 BST)7.003.801.60

Yeh i think your probably spot on there godmato. They all look like morals on paper but its a different story trying to get all 4 up. I might stay away, or perhaps do two seperate doubles? Whatever the case the 4 way trebble is too risky

The Cork game looks a great game for an Under 2.5 bet both teams are low scoring and Cork has a good defence conceding only 3 goals on home ground.

In the last 10 games 9 went Under beetwen these two, best odds currently on Betfair 1.79.

It looks a good bet, Derry, Cork, and Shelbourne should win as the odds suggest, Drogheda away to St Pats may be the Buster but their odds boost the value of the bet up somewhat and i regularily back Drogheda as Player for Player they are as good as anything in this league, i think the problem is that their manager Doolin doesnt know his strongest side, particularily up front when Declan o Brien is not fit..

The 4 teams you have picked all run full time professional setups so for Midweek/Friday night games i think they have a real advantage against the other teams in the league. Sligo Rovers are the other team who run a full time set up and its no coincidence that these are the top 5 teams in the division.

As for the other teams, St Pats, UCD, Longford etc majority of players are part time but a contain a few players who are full time training with the other clubs, if you imagine that some of these players may have already done a days work and then have to travel to the games so tonight Bohemians and Longford both make long journeys to Derry and Cork Respectively.

I tried this formula earlier in the season backing the full time teams against the part timers and it produced alot of profit but since the odds have gone down and their is not as much value as normal.

The past couple of months this league has thrown up some very unpredictable results so as always a 4 team accumalator could fall but i think i will join you on that one at small stakes for a bit of fun.

Reasoning Shelbourne only managed to grab a point agaisnt Derry and now last years champions Cork City and Derry City are closing in on them.

Although Waterford started to show a little form lately, they still have just one win on home ground and are placed 10 meeting 1st placed.

Shelbourne know they have to win this and they are decent on the road winning 5 drawing 3 and loosing only 2, Waterford is a team they can easily beat.

Waterford has strikers Ger McCarthy and Alan Cawley suspended and they are big losses, also James Chamber and Lee Russell are out.
Last 10 games finished with 8 Shelbourne victoy, 1 draw, and 1 Waterford victory.

This is a must win for Shelbourne and they will take this chance for sure.

Ended up taking 2 doubles in the end instead of going for a 4way multi

- Cork & Derry at $1.97 - (8/10)
- Drogheda & Shelbourne at $3.33 - (6/10)

Best of luck everyone

What a disaster!!!!

Only Shelbourne deliver the goods again!

Drogheda Manager Paul Doolin will have a slepless night tonight i feel, the axe is getting sharpened as we speak!

Maybe the internationals will bring some much needed luck tomorrow or Bristol Rovers in League 2 look good for the 3 points at home to Boston United but as always with football "You never know".

I still feel the odds from the bookmakers doesnt reflect how unpredictable football is, they are laughing all the way to the bank!
