| This from breakingnews.ie O'Flynn return to test mean UCD defence 22/09/2006 - 10:54:28 UCD take on Cork City at Belfield Park in the eircom League Premier Division tonight hoping to continue their impressive defensive run. The students have not conceded a goal in more than seven hours of football, though they will be weakened by injuries tonight with Stephen Hurley, Paul Crowley and Keith Doyle all absent. Cork, meanwhile, are likely to start John O'Flynn after he was taken off in last week's win over Bohemians as a precaution. |

Combined with their injuries UCD may be forced to play a more open game than recently so I will steer clear of the under. I think Cork have the forward power to put two past the Students tonight. Cork win 2.0 (Corals) 10/10 Last edited by si1965; 22-09-2006 at 13:53.

Ndo is back and I rate him as one of the best midfielders in the League currently and striker Jason Byrne should play a part even if he doesn't start the match. Derry do have strength in depth so will not necessarily miss winger Brennan and Jennings showed on Monday that he has inherited some of his great Dad's goalkeeping skills. Forwards Stephen O'Flynn and Kevin McHugh are again avalable for Derry so they have plenty of attacking options. On paper this looks a better match-up than the teams that contested the Cup on Monday. Given that the two sides are very evenly balanced I like the look of the Asian handicap: Derry 0,+0.5 @ 2.0 (Bet365) 8/10 Last edited by si1965; 22-09-2006 at 15:36.

| Some big games tonight in the eircom league but the previews in here are spot on. Drogheda - Bray home win(asian handicap for better value probably worth a shout) Drogheda can make ground on the leaders. Shelbourne - Derry - Who knows, probably a draw UCD - Cork - I fancy an away win but these 2 teams seem to let everyone down. O Flynn will start so Corks spine is full strenght. The leaders will drop points tonight so this is a big chance for cork and Drogheda. Bohemians Vs Waterford - Waterford are way over prices at over 6 on betfair, i think Waterford wont lose this game and would place a small bet on them tonight(Midfielder Alan Renolyds is back and he is a big player for Waterford). 1st Division Galway Vs Monaghan - After last nights draw between Dundalk and Shamrock rovers this is a big chance for Galway to close the gap. Galway have important players back and i think they will have an easy win tonight. Over 2.5 looks good at 1.9 on betfair as both sides strenghts are attack and this fixture finished 6-2 last time. Athlone Vs Finn Harps - Again anything is possible, both teams have nothing to play for, Athlone may hold back because of quarter final in the cup next week and Finn Harps are playing for a decent league position. I would go for a draw or away win probably but wouldnt risk much. |

| Derry 2 up away to Shelbourne at half time, who would have thought it! Goalkeeper Pat Jennings Junior sent off for Derry though, could be a Shelbourne comeback in the 2nd half i think! |

| Just read the report of the Bohs v Waterford match. Waterford took the lead (good news for my bet) only for Bohs to 'equalise' - the ref letting the goal stand despite the linesman flagging it offside. In the ensuing argument the ref proceeds to send off 2 Waterfod players. Needless to say, Bohs have no problem in making the extra two men count and score another two goals. |
